Chapter Two Hundred and Four
Chapter Two Hundred and Four
Asher's POV
I stayed away from her for the next one or two hours. Allowed her to have her time to herself. Maybe she just needs to calm down. But seeing her in that condition fucked with my head.
We need to have a conversation. A very serious one, but she obviously needs time. She must have heard my conversation with my dad which made her spiral that way. Maybe just a part of it. It should not be this bad.
When I could not take it anymore, I went straight to the garage. I knew she would not be there but I didn't want to take chances. It was locked, so I went round to the side to use the normal stairway up to her room upstairs.
As I walked, there was this ominous feeling I could not put my hands on that overcame me. When I got to the door of the room, it was ajar a little bit, meaning she did not close the door completely and that was not good at all.
I found my heart pumping very fast. A feeling of deja vu rushed over me as I opened the door slowly, entered and looked around the sitting area, she was not there.
I checked the room, she was not there either. The room felt more hollow than it was before. There was nothing that belonged to her there.
Please don't tell me she left. Please. I walked briskly to her wardrobe and opened it, nothing.
“Fuck!” I growled. I should not have given her space. I should not. She would be long gone now. Where the fuck should I even find her?
I rushed downstairs and as I was, I was calling her, trying to get to her. The phone was ringing, but she was not picking up. No, no, no. She can't just leave.
To my knowledge, she does not have any other family members that she can stay with. So the implication of her being gone was that I can't find her anywhere. She won't be available anywhere at all.
I rushed into the club and headed straight to my office. The guys must have seen the frenzy that I was in as I came in because Alex and Raffa were on my tail.
“What the hell is going on boss?” Raffa asked, his voice all serious. I picked the keys to one of my bikes and was about to leave when Alex pulled me back.
“Let go.” I grunted and struggled against him. “I need to find her.”
“Find who?” He asked. They will not let me leave if I don't talk, so I tried to calm down and talk to them.
“Ember. She's gone. She left. I need to look for her.” I rushed out.
“What?! How is that even possible?” Rafa asked, his eyes wide.
“I need to find her.” Is all I told them. I didn't have time to explain anything to them right now so I dropped Alex's hands on me and rushed out again. When I got to my bike, I started it straight away and zoomed off. A few seconds later, I heard the sounds of bikes behind me. It must be the guys.
Their headlights were so bright that I could see the front but then, I switched mine on too. The only thing in my mind right now was that I hoped I would see her.
How do I even want to do it? Where should I look for her? This was a small town and not like the city where you can go to some specific places to look for someone. I would have thought to involve the police in this area. Maybe they can at least be of help, but the sheriff does not like my father. Talk less of me. It won't end well at all.
So, I decided to go to her house first and see if I would be lucky enough to see her there. When I got there, I opened the door without knocking.
“Ember!” I bellowed her name a couple of times totally ignoring the woman who was sitting on the couch with wide eyes. She must be the mother.
“Why the hell did you barge in here?” She slurred her words.
“Have you seen Ember around?” I asked her not having time for her antics. Then suddenly, a wide smile made its way to the woman's face.
“Oh….she's not here. After hearing what she needed from me, she must have decided that she does not deserve to live. Maybe she died somewhere.” She started to laugh.
“What did you say to her?” I gritted through my teeth, my hands turning into fists but I fucking wanted to wrap it around her throat.
“Nothing too serious. Just that I told her about who her father is and what he did to your family and what your father will do to her if he gets his hands on her. Andddd, that I'm not her mother.”
“I'm going to fucking kill you!” The guys held me back.
“Let's get out of here. The more you waste time, the more she gets away.” Alex said in my ears.
“You will get what is coming for you.” I sneered angrily and walked out of the house.
We continued riding, but her words didn't leave my head. She must have been the one to tell my father. But how? And why? What the hell was going on right now?
Suddenly, I heard my name being called from behind me and by the time I was able to understand why or what was going on, it was already too late.
I was already flying through the air after a hit from a black van and by the time I hit the ground, my whole body shook and I could not move again.
Nothing was making sense any longer. It was like I was floating through the abyss of pain. The guys were shouting something but I could not hear them.
The last thing I saw was Ember's face and I raised my hand trying to reach her but I could not and I succumbed to the darkness that swallowed me whole.
