141. Death With Marriage on the Side
141. Death With Marriage on the Side
Fox POV
I stood there at the altar. Ophelia was late. Cesear was next to me, and Greer was standing next to the spot where Ophelia was to stand. Caden and EJ both looked nervous sitting in the from pews of the cathedral. I had seen on the news that all the police stations in the urban area and even the outskirts of the city had been blown up at the same time yesterday. They were saying it was a terrorist attack. Apparently, the FBI were on their way to the city.
Caden and EJ told me when I got to the church that it had been Ophelia. They told me about her meeting with the gangs, but were not permitted, by Ophelia, to be privy to what was said inside the church. The very one we were supposed to be getting married in, right now. I worried she was hurt in one of the bombings she orchestrated. Why was she not here? Was it because she was dead, it certainly was not cold feet.
Then I saw her, my little psycho. She was standing in front of the open doors at the entrance of the cathedral. She looked like some kind of urethral being. She had a little Boquete in her hands and she looked like she was smiling. That beautiful scar on her face clear as day. The organist had been called and upon seeing her, the woman began to play the traditional wedding march. She walked slowly down the aisle.
As she approached, I saw she was in fact smiling. Something, she only reserved to in private with me. I guess being married provided an excuse for her to show others her smile in public, verses when she was than just with me. Not to mention she was not wearing a black dress but one of ivory. I noticed she had a bit of soot or something along her cheek. When she was finally in front of me her smile was even bigger. I reached out and wiped the soot away from her face.
She had made it here, she was beautiful and perfect. I knew I still looked beyond messed up from the beating Murphy gave me. The priest stepped closer in between us. Ophelia turned to the priest. “I am so sorry father, but this will have to be an extremely quick wedding, I mean like three minutes at most, one minuet would be best.” He looked confused but nodded and very rushed we got married. “You may kiss the bride.”
The kiss was filled with passion. She grabbed the back of my neck and pulled me to her lips. Our tongues played with one another, and she pulled away, flashing me a wide smile. She said to Cesar then “Sorry you have to stay in the city for a bit.” Then she looked at Greer “Cesar is in North Carolina now, not involved with you know. Maybe you know?” She shot her a friend a wink.
She was rushing all of this. Demanding everyone do as she said, and I had to admit I kind of found the bossiness amusing. We were in the church maybe ten minutes, in total if that. Once we got out of the church, Ophelia began to practically pull me to my car.
She got me in, and she was flying down the road. “Ophelia what is the rush? Why was everything so short with the wedding.” I paused then made the joke “You just want to fuck me don’t you?” She smiled but didn’t stop, her foot was all the way down on the accelerator. “Seriously Ophelia, what is the rush?”
She took a while to answer. “Look I was going to wait until we were on the plane to tell you but fuck it.” She took a deep breath. “The city is going to be on fucking lockdown. If it isn’t already.” I cut in “What? Why?” I asked. “I blew up the FBI building and all the cars and well just a fucking lot of bombs went off yesterday.” I commented “The police stations?” She nodded.
“Yeah, well I organized that, which I am sure you already know. Then I knew more Federal agents would come in as soon as possible, seeing as they would need to investigate, so when they arrived, I blew it all up. I went there right before the wedding. But the terrorist organization, is.” I cut her off. “What terrorist group? How the fuck?” I didn’t even know what else to say or even where she even got involved in that.
She never liked terrorist; she wasn’t one? I mean she was a criminal so maybe in that sense she was but an actual group of them. “Yeah well, I got in touch with the people who wanted me to work for them years ago, right out of college. They are well I just told you. Once I talked to them, I organized the whole thing.” Ophelia said.
“Anyways, just you know. The city will be on serious lockdown, and I plan to spend that time on the island we are going to.” I stared at her; she was a criminal mastermind. “How did you get the gangs to listen and actually place the bombs?” I knew she had made them, Caden and EJ had told me at the church before she showed up. “You don’t want to know, believe me on that Fox.”
She chewed on her lower lip. I knew whatever she had done had to be bad if she didn’t want to tell me. “Tell me Ophelia.” She sighed. “Fucking fine, okay I threatened them with Anthrax.” She had to be insane. “It wasn’t real though right.” Ophelia remained silent. “You fucking brought Anthrax into the church, carried it in, with our children inside you, real fucking Anthrax?”
She spoke “I wasn’t really going to release it. It was just to get them to do what I said to do and well make sure they didn’t hurt me.” I snapped at her “Then why not use something fake then, if you were not going to use it. That was dangerous, what about our babies, you didn’t think that was risky?” She snapped right back at me “You went off all cockamamie and took stupid risks, so don’t you fucking dare tell me what I did was wrong.”
She wasn’t done and kept snapping at me “I would have never been put in this position if you fucking stuck to the plan, so I had to figure it out, so I fucking did. I don’t need you bitching at me, for fixing everything and killing Murphy his son and reestablishing our control over the fucking police in this city, so shut up. And yes Murphy is dead I watched him go into the building before I took it out, so again Shut the Fuck UP!”
We just pulled into the private airport. I stilled my breath “Do you know where we are going?” I asked. “We have a private island well a whole resort in Bora- Bora.” Then she flashed me a smile. “The plane is taking us to another and another and another. Then we will be at the resort, and it will only be only the staff there. Oh, and you can thank the wedding planner for figuring all that out, I didn’t do shit other than say we have no limit on money, and I wanted a private island, now we need to hurry and get in the air.” I nodded and we exited my parked car.
