Chapter 713: One-Man Show

Chapter 713: One-Man Show

“Mr. Perry!”

“This has to be an illusion, right?”

Briana grabbed Elbert’s arm in panic, her eyes full of hope.

She couldn’t accept this at all. In her mind, failure wasn’t allowed, and she couldn’t just watch a Punisher die like this!

Elbert’s voice stayed calm. “No other possibility. He failed.”

This!

Briana’s face went white at once!

“So.”

Elbert gave a mysterious smile. “I set Quentin’s pod to infinite restart mode. It’ll keep modifying him, a hundred times, a thousand times, ten thousand times, until he hits that 0.1% chance!”

“Huh?”

Briana was shocked. She never expected Elbert to come up with a way like this.

His thinking was so quick!

And he set up something this complicated in just that short time?

Right then.

Quentin’s pod went quiet. The screen showed it restarting for the next round.

Briana was stunned.

She pressed against the window and looked at the silly-looking Quentin inside.

The guy had no idea what was going on, like he was in a nice dream.

“Mr. Perry...”

“Your idea works in theory...”

“But Quentin’s body won’t handle this many restarts.”

Briana’s face was full of fear.

Elbert narrowed his eyes. “The body has endless potential. Whether he can take it depends on Quentin’s will.”

“Don’t let the dumb look fool you. He’s got strong willpower.”

“Back then, to avenge his wife, he became a B-level modified human even when the tech was still rough.”

“You know the odds were only 3% back then, and the chance of hitting B-level was under 1%.”

“This guy keeps yelling he’ll be the universe’s top fighter. Everyone laughs, but he’s never changed his mind.”

Elbert stood with his hands behind his back, looking at Quentin with quiet encouragement. “I believe he’ll hold on until that 0.1% chance. When he does, he’ll come out reborn and stronger than anyone.”

Briana felt a chill run through her.

She shivered without thinking and muttered, “Yeah, this is an 11th-level cube! No one knows what kind of crazy power it’ll make.”

She looked at Quentin again.

Briana felt oddly moved. “Heaven helps those who try. I really hope Quentin becomes number one in the universe.”

Elbert sighed. “That won’t happen.”

“Huh...”

Briana paused. “Why?”

Elbert smiled. “Because of me.”

Briana frowned.

Just then.

A scream came through the speakers into Elbert’s ears.

Elbert looked up and saw Trinity covering her mouth in shock, staring at her father’s room.

Elbert turned to Briana. “Have the other Punishers start 8th-level cube mods. Keep an eye on Quentin’s progress too.”

Then he walked out.

In the special room, Trinity’s father Hall’s eyes rolled around.

He checked that no one was there.

He started moving his “paralyzed” body.

His gaze locked onto the ballpoint pen Elbert had left on the chair, full of hunger.

He inched to the edge of the bed.

Thud. He fell to the floor.

He looked like a helpless paralyzed man!

But the next second.

He let out a weird chuckle, greed all over his face!

Even though he was weak, he could move his arms and legs.

Like he was swimming, he crawled on the floor toward the metal pen!

“Hehe...”

“I finally found the key!”

“I’m going back to that paradise world!”

Hall crawled hard, his face twisted, drooling everywhere!

Trinity stood outside the one-way glass and saw everything.

A man in white walked up and stood quietly beside her.

Trinity looked at Elbert with terror and disbelief.

Tears started falling.

She pointed at her father with one hand and covered her mouth with the other. “He...”

Elbert said calmly, “If I hadn’t limited his strength, he would’ve rushed over already.”

“Haha!”

Crazy laughter came from the room. Hall had grabbed the metal pen!

Everything went just as Elbert expected.

Elbert watched quietly, waiting to see how Hall, who had been in the “paradise world,” would use the pen!

Click!

Hall, the sun priest of ancient Pompeii, grinned.

He pressed the pen right away!

Elbert’s brows drew together!

But nothing happened in the room. Hall just went silent.

Elbert was confused.

Is that all?

Hall’s body froze. His pupils started to drift, not like death, just losing focus.

Whoosh!

The weak Hall suddenly stood straight up!

Elbert was surprised.

He sent out his awareness and could tell Hall’s body was still badly dehydrated. How did he suddenly get strength?

Hall stared into empty space like he was blind, no focus in his eyes.

He burst into wild laughter. “Haha, I’m finally back! Fifty years! I’m the sun priest Mithra, and I’m back!”

He looked like he owned the world, scanning around with no real target.

“One year!”

“I’ve been holding it in so bad!”

“Time to have some fun!”

Hall grabbed at the air. “Woman!”

It looked like he’d pulled in a sexy woman from nowhere.

He ran his hands all over her, like he was ripping off her clothes!

Then he started doing nasty things.

He grinned. “Finally I can do whatever I want! In the real world I had to hold back, but not here!”

“I’ve got a daughter, super wild, a real top one, but I could only hold back!”

“I’m gonna make a woman just like Trinity here and go all out!”

“Haha!”

While laughing, Hall’s body gave off faint golden light, weak but with some heat.

That must be his sun priest power.

If a real woman were there, she’d probably burn to ash fast.

Even though.

From Elbert and Trinity’s view, the room only had Hall acting alone.

But what he was doing was still hard to watch.

“He’s stuck in a hallucination.”

Elbert looked at Trinity.

Her face was full of shock, shame, and anger.
