Chapter 714 Another World

Chapter 714 Another World

"Ha ha!"

Hall kept laughing like a madman.

He stood on the floor with his hands on his hips, looking completely unhinged.

"As the great Sun Priest, the number one priest of Pompeii!"

"Even the Earth Priest and the Sea Priest can't hold a candle to me!"

"Everything happening right now is exactly what I deserve!"

"I've finally broken free from that stupid real world!"

"Lisa! You wretched woman! You're finally mine!"

The delusions in his head made Hall glow with excitement.

Trinity's tears burst out. She desperately wanted to slap this beast of a man dead on the spot.

Trinity, the beautiful woman in the red dress, gritted her teeth and turned to run out the door.

"Lisa."

Elbert suddenly spoke. "You can think of Phantom Island as home from now on."

Trinity didn't look back. She paused for just a moment, then wiped her tears and ran straight out the door.

At that moment.

Gino and Dino arrived outside the hospital room.

Taking one look inside, both of them were speechless.

"Oh wow..."

"Impressive."

Gino scratched his head and looked at Elbert. "Mr. Perry, I heard from Summer that this old guy is actually a Sun Priest? But what's wrong with him? Is he mentally ill? Just entertaining himself?"

Elbert frowned. "He's seeing very realistic hallucinations."

"Ha ha!"

"This feels amazing!"

Hall was shouting inside the room.

Everyone felt a mix of helplessness and amusement.

Then something strange happened.

The floor and ceiling of the room were crystal clear with red swirling lights, the kind that could easily mess with your vision.

In a daze, a figure in a red dress suddenly appeared in front of Hall, kneeling on the floor.

The woman's pose was seductive, and her clothes and figure looked almost exactly like Trinity's.

The image flashed and vanished, leaving only the raving Hall behind.

All three of them, including Elbert, felt their eyes playing tricks on them and rubbed their eyes hard.

Unbelievable.

"What the hell!"

"I underestimated him?"

"Are we just too low-level, or is he just that high-level?"

Gino and Dino stood there with their mouths wide open.

"Ha ha!"

Hall looked absolutely thrilled.

Then Hall's body gave out completely.

Thud.

Hall collapsed.

Gino and Dino gasped. "He knocked himself out?"

And at that moment, Elbert was sinking deep into confusion.

What on earth was going on?

Three things didn't add up.

Why did Hall see hallucinations through the ballpoint pen?

Hall had woken up fifty years ago, but back then Reid had just been born. How could Hall have used a pen that Reid left behind?

And most importantly—

For one brief moment, Hall's hallucination had become real.

Just then, Robert's figure popped up. He covered his eyes with his little hands and whispered, "Is the not-safe-for-kids stuff over yet?"

Elbert snapped back and nodded. "It's over."

"Great!"

"Then allow this young master to explain things for you!"

Robert paced back and forth. "First of all, the reason this guy was affected by a metal ballpoint pen might be because his brainwaves are different from a normal person's."

"The equipment in the room shows his EEG is flat with resting potential and occasional alpha rhythms."

"In plain terms, those are the readings of a vegetative state."

Elbert was startled. "A vegetative state?"

Robert nodded. "Yeah. That's the only thing special about him, and probably the only connection."

"As for how he knew about Reid's pen..."

Robert tilted his head. "In our world, time is an impenetrable barrier. But in the world of consciousness particles, time might mean nothing at all. After all, consciousness moves faster than light."

Elbert felt a flash of understanding.

He was beginning to grasp something.

"Now, about the hallucination turning real just now."

Robert looked at Elbert. "Remember when you stopped that train? The train was originally a hallucination, but you treated it as real, and the impact force of an actual train appeared. It even destroyed the tracks."

Elbert's eyes widened. "Hallucinations can actually become real?"

"That's unlikely."

Robert shook his head. "But have you considered this: since we've already proven that parallel universes exist, could there be events where universes overlap?"

Elbert was stunned again. "You mean those hallucinations might actually be happening in a parallel universe?"

"Exactly!"

Robert thought it through. "Let's say the person experiencing hallucinations is the link connecting two worlds. Their mental energy, or something like it, causes the two worlds to cross over. And then some things become real."

Elbert fell silent.

Hidden within these theories was one more shocking piece of information.

Reid may have died, but his consciousness particles had entered another world.

And that world could very well be a parallel universe.

A parallel universe within the consciousness realm.

Combined with Reid having appeared in hallucinations before, and the colorful Joker's ability to possess others—

All of this forced Elbert to think deeply.

"Mr. Perry."

"I almost forgot what I came here for!"

Gino's voice pulled Elbert back from his thoughts.

Gino handed over a stack of large sheets of paper.

They were covered in pencil sketches.

"These are that creepy old guy's drawings," Gino said. "They're all over the place. I can't make sense of them."

Elbert quickly took them and looked at the first one. He couldn't help but be amazed.

The old man could really draw. These black-and-white pencil sketches were eerie and grand.

The first drawing looked like an entire world.

Nine continents rose up one above another, stacked high in an endless sky like nine stars aligned in a row.

Each continent had its own distinct landscape. On the very top one, a massive dark figure sat upright, black flames burning all around it, as if it were the ruler of this entire world, its terrifying gaze watching over everything.

Elbert's head spun.

This was identical to the memory fragments in the mind of the version of himself that had once brought the force to shatter a meteor.

That same massive dark figure that sent chills down your spine.

Elbert turned to the next drawing.

It showed one of the nine continents on its own.

It was filled with buildings that defied every rule of architecture and physics.

A hundred-story skyscraper shaped like a giant mushroom.

By any reasonable standard, no walls could bear that kind of load.
