Chapter 115 - My Rebellious Luna

ALPHA LUKE POV

TWO MONTHS LATER

I was jolted awake by a slight pain in my lower back. It took me a few seconds to realize it was my Shortcake’s pain. She was breathing hard, sitting on the edge of the bed. “What’s wrong, Luna?” I got up and kneeled in front of her. “The contractions are getting worse and… and closer to each other.” She said through gritted teeth as she panted.

All day yesterday she had begun to feel contractions. They were small and not very painful. The doctor explained that it was normal and could happen up to a week before her due date. Which made sense because she was due next week. What didn’t make sense was why they would become stronger and more frequent, since it wasn’t time yet.

Then again, the doctor did mention that babies came when they were ready. Could be a week early or a week late. “My mom’s not here yet Luke, I want her here.” She said as I pulled her up and helped her into the closet. “I know Shortcake, it’s okay. I will call your parents as soon as I get you to the infirmary.” I quickly put on some clothes and pulled one of my hoodies over her head.

“Dr. Flores, her contractions are getting stronger and are about eight minutes apart.” It was one in the morning, and I was very aware that I woke her up with my mindlink. “Alpha! I’m up, I will meet you in the infirmary.” Her groggy voice became alert by the time she finished her sentence. “Let’s go mamasita.” I picked up my Pastelito in my arms and carried her to the infirmary.

As we walked outside of the pack house I thought of what needed to be done. “Jerry, sorry to wake you. Please call Clara, Frank and Jason. Tell them Becky’s gone into labor.” I nearly made the mistake of mindlinking Jordan before I remembered they had a one-month-old keeping them up all night. “On it.” Was his simple reply.

“Don’t go waking everyone up! Lilimar and Jordan are like zombies since little Devon hardly lets them sleep.” Becky scolded me as she gripped my shirt. “I didn’t. I asked Jerry to call your parents, that’s all.” I reassured her. “Oh… hope he doesn’t wake Celia up. She’s just getting over her morning sickness.” That’s right, our Beta’s just had a baby and our Gamma’s were expecting.

A month after the baby shower, we had a tournament for the Gamma position. Jerry proved his worth and held his position. He then solidified it by bringing in the next generation. We were nowhere near done, but it was the beginning. Our children would grow up together, form a bond as leaders of this pack. Along with all the other pups in the pack.

As we walked into the infirmary, Dr. Flores was pulling her hair into a ponytail. There were nurses running in and out of the large room at the end of the hall. The room where my Luna would be delivering our little cupcake. “Right this way, Alpha.” Dr. Flores quickly led us to the room and gestured for me to place her on the bed. As soon as I set her down, my Luna cried out as another contraction hit her.

The doctor looked at one of the nurses and she quickly looked at her watch. They were keeping track of her contractions while Dr. Flores prepared to do another ultrasound. “Baby is in position, let’s check how far along you are dilated.” She cleaned up her belly and they removed my hoodie from her body. She was left in a light nightie with no undergarments.

She felt my gaze on her and growled at me. It’s not my fault she looks fuckable no matter the situation. I will admit this isn’t the time of place. “Sorry Pastelito.” She winked at me, and all was right with the world. Until the doctor spread her legs and touched my gatita (kitty). “Six centimeters! We are close, Luna, very close.” She smiled at us reassuringly and threw away her gloves.

I moved a chair next to her bed and held her hand as we waited and waited. It was nearly two in the afternoon before she was officially ready to start pushing. Clara and Frank arrived just in time thanks to Rob. With me at her right and Clara at her left, my Luna held our hands as we supported her through every push.

Twenty minutes later, my Pastlito was trembling as she prepared to push again. “Alright Luna! I can see the head, give me a good hard push on this next one.” Becky nodded and braced herself. “Push Luna!” She gritted her teeth and pushed with a growl. “Salga mi corazon! No seas malita. (Come out my heart! don't be mean)” She pleaded with our cupcake.

“The head is out! One good push should do it!” Becky took a few deep breaths as she prepared herself. Clara wiped her little girl’s forehead and comforted her. “Push Luna!” My Pastelito roared and I snuck a peek to see my baby slowly fall into the doctors’ hands. “Ahh….” Becky’s roar died down as she fell back onto the bed.

My cupcake’s cry soon followed and what a sweet sound it was. “Mira la nena hermosa. (Look at the beautiful girl)” Clara coed at my cupcake. A head of dark brown hair and sparkling brown eyes searched the room. My little girl is finally here.

BECKY POV

It felt odd not having her be one with me anymore. I watched as everyone appraised her before putting her on my exposed chest. The doctor explained skin to skin was best for bonding. Her brown eyes looked up at me and her little wrinkly hand laid on my chest. She had my round face and her father's pointed nose. I wasn’t sure if her lips were full but the way she was pouting put mine to shame. She’s perfect.

I couldn’t help but wonder what my little angelito (angel) would have looked like. “Can I hold her?” Luke’s voice startled me as I looked up at him. His eyes were rimmed with tears as he looked at our cupcake with so much love that my heart swelled. Nodding my head, I gently lifted my little girl, who in turn whined. Luke took her in his big arms and began to sooth her.

Seeing such a tiny little being in the big hands of such a large man was comical. He held her so gently as he rocked her and coed. “No llores my princesa, tu papa y mama estan aqui. (Don't cry my princess, your mom and dad are here)” He whispered to her. Every day it shocked me how dedicated he was to learning Spanish.

At first, I thought he only wanted to learn the dirty words, but I was very mistaken. I bet he also wanted to know what I was saying when I got pissed off. Luckily for him, that didn’t happen very often. Or should I say thanks to him? Everyone in the pack, including myself, found joy in the simple things in life. Too many people sacrificed their lives for us to be ungrateful.

Especially now that we have our little cupcake in front of us. I didn’t even feel offended when everyone walked in and ignored me and went straight toward Luke. He didn’t want to give her up as he walked away from my mom and Luna Rose. “Don’t be a baby hog.” Luna Rose whined, and Alpha Liam narrowed his eyes at Luke.

Not even an hour old and she had all these adults wrapped around her little finger. “What name did you decide on?” My mother asked. “Winona.” I replied as I watched everyone around her look at her in awe. First-born daughter.
