Chapter 178
Chapter 178
ALICIA
With a shaky hand, I clicked on the video.
It started with Henry hiding the cameras somewhere. He was stripped to the waist, with only a towel knotted around his waist.
Then he moved back and dropped onto the bed. The room looked quite lushly furnished, like a suite or a hotel. He bunched up his towel, revealing his thighs.
My heart skipped a beat when Shane walked in a few minutes later. More sweat beaded on my forehead. I reached out and wiped it and forced myself to continue watching.
Then they started to talk. Henry expressed how he had missed Shane and was hoping that they would have sex. Shane admitted that he has missed “wrecking his hole” too, but “not tonight.”
I swallowed.
So, it is true.
Shane is a bisexual man.
Every part of their conversation astounded me gravely. It was a hard watch, but I had to force myself to keep on watching. Then Henry asked him why he got married to me in the first place when he didn't even love me.
He didn't debunk Henry's claim about him not loving me. He just warned him not to piss him off. And then when Henry asked him if it was because he wanted me to hear his kids for him, he looked surprised, then slightly angered when Henry revealed that he knew I was pregnant, and that I told him.
Shane said, “That bitch and her big mouth. She just won't keep her mouth shut.”
I felt a sharp pang in my chest. Tears blurred my vision pretty quickly and started to roll down my cheeks.
Shane is referring to me like this.
Henry went to ask him why he wanted to have children in the first place.
Shane's revelation shook me to my bone marrow. The things he plans to do with our kids. The gruesome, inhumanely unspeakable things he already had planned made me so genuinely sick that I was hit by a strong wave of nausea.
Not from my pregnancy, but from the repulsive revelation.
My hand flew to my mouth, and I flew to my feet, then darted to the bathroom. I threw up. Hard.
I collapsed on the bathroom floor, curled up and started to whimper silently.
Oh, my God
Is this… really Shane? Is this the Shane that I fell in love with?
My hand weakly slid up to my stomach.
I was overjoyed when I found out that I was pregnant. Now, it feels like I am pregnant with a curse.
Oh, my God.
Jacob tried to warn me. Mom tried to warn me. This is the man I fell in love with? This is what he plans on doing with our child?
Ding!
I flicked my gaze to my phone on the floor. Then I reached out and picked it up.
Henry \[How you holding up?\]
Tears still trickled down. My hands trembled as I typed.
Me \[This is a fabricated video, isn't it? Please, tell me it is.\]
Henry \[Does it look fabricated to you? You know it isn't. But that isn't the worst video yet.\]
I felt my stomach churn.
What could be worse than this?
Me \[There's more??\]
Henry \[Yes. Brace yourself before watching. And get ready to throw up. You got married to a monster, Alicia. Just watch.\]
The video dropped below the text.
The phone shook in my hand. I squeezed my eyes shut and let out a shaky breath. Then I played the video, not knowing what to expect.
“Oh, my God!” I screeched within half a second of watching the video, tossing the phone away so fast.
My breath came even faster. My heart raced so hard I thought I was going to have a panic attack.
More tears poured down my cheeks.
What in God's name?
My whole body shook on the floor. My hand trembled as I reached out and picked up the phone from the floor.
Then I resumed.
I tossed the phone on the floor again. More tears poured like a river. Every muscle in my body trembled.
I sat there on the floor, sobbing and frozen with ultimate shock and fear, forcing myself to watch the video of Shane brutally murdering the poor woman in cold blood, torturing her, making her suffer slowly as he watched her, with gleeful pleasure in his eyes.
He looked unrecognizable.
So unrecognizable.
Like a wild, monstrous beast.
I cried even harder. My stomach kicked, and I quickly positioned my face over the toilet and started to throw up for the second time.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
So, it is true.
It is true.
Shane is a sick psychopath.
And a murderer, too.
Oh, my God.
Everything Jacob told me is true. He has been manipulating me all this time. That meant that he also killed their mother.
Oh, my God.
More tears poured, and I raked my hand through my hair. I felt seriously sick, like I would pass out any moment.
I can’t believe I let him touch me with the same hands he tortures and murders people with, kisses me and even makes love to me.
I can't believe I've been blind all this time.
I cannot believe I am pregnant with the child of someone like that.
Jacob warned me.
Mom warned me.
No, never.
I must not give birth to this child. I have to get rid of it. As soon as possible. I don't think I can live with myself if I gave birth to this child and he turns out to be like his father.
Over my dead body.
My phone buzzed, but I didn't bother checking the text. It was most probably Henry.
I picked up the phone from the floor and heaved myself to my feet. My legs trembled beneath me, but I held on still.
I need to get out of here.
With stiff legs, I staggered out of the bathroom and over to the window, then glanced down. Shane was still sitting exactly where I left him.
The sight of him now made my stomach churn. I glanced away to keep myself from vomiting. I didn't bother packing my bags or taking anything. I grabbed the car key and exited the room, then hurriedly made my way down the stairs.
Mrs Fergus stood at the bottom of the stairs, an inquisitive look plastered across her face.
“Are you okay, ma'am?”
I paid her no mind. I breezed past her, slipped out through the front door and into the garage, sliding behind the steering wheel. My whole body shook as I typed a text to Shane.
I couldn't risk him following me if he hears me leaving. I finished typing and sent it.
Me \[Hey, babe. Something happened to Becca, and I'm going to see her.\]
He read it.
Shane \[What happened?\]
Me \[Nothing serious. I'll tell you all about it when I come back.\]
Shane \[Okay, babe. Drive safe. Love you.\]
Me \[Love you, too.\]
I let out the deepest sigh, turned on the car and started to drive. I sent the car roaring out of the garage at full speed.
I didn't look back.
When I was finally miles away from the estate, I pulled up on the side of the road and burst into another round of tears. I cried for a long time till my eyes were puffy.
I fell in love and got married to a monstrous, psychotic murderer.
They warned me.
They all warned me.
But I was too headstrong to heed their warnings.
I'm such a stupid idiot!
I pulled out my phone and dialed Beth's number. My heart raced alongside the dialing tone.
“Hey, sis.” Her cheerful voice came on the line. “What's up?”
“Beth, where are you right now?” My voice trembled as I spoke.
A pause. “Is something wrong?”
“Where are you right now?!” I barked into the phone.
“Whoa! Girl, take a chill pill.” She rasped, “I'm at the company, what's…”
“Please come meet me.” I said urgently.
“Uh... why?”
“I need you to take me to that clinic you went to when you aborted your ex's child.”
“Um… I'm sorry, Alicia, what did you just say? Why are you…”
“Please, come and take me there, Beth!” I screamed into the phone, voice hoarse and desperate. “I need to get rid of this devilish thing as soon as possible! I'll tell you everything later, just... just come.”
I heard hurried sounds.
“Alright, alright, I'm coming!”
“Thank you.”
