Chapter 81 The Revelation.

Chapter 81 The Revelation.

Chapter 81.

Bunny’s POV.

I could not hold my hand back. And maybe it was because I was now with Xavier. For the first time in my life, I felt like I had the courage to do anything and everything that I liked because I finally had a person standing firmly behind me… a dangerous, unyielding man who would stand up for me without a single shred of fear.

My hand shot forward through the air like a lightning bolt, and before I could even think to stop myself, I landed a scorching, blistering slap right across his face.

SMACK!

Daniel’s breath hitched sharply in his throat. I watched as his head snapped to the side, his hand instantly flying up to grab his stinging cheek. The sharp, echoing crack of the slap vibrated through the hallway, drawing the immediate attention of the students walking nearby.

When he finally turned his face back to look at mine, the smug grin was entirely gone.

“Did you just slap me?” His voice was dangerously dark, gritty, and low. His eyes? They were completely bloodshot, burning with a wild, chaotic fury.

But beneath the anger, I could see a massive wave of shock and disbelief swimming in his eyes. Yes, he was surprised because the Bunny he knew from the past would never raise a hand to defend herself. The old Bunny was too naive, too terrified, and far too soft to ever dream of striking him. But I am not that person anymore. I have grown. I have evolved in my own little way over the past few weeks, and I am absolutely not letting anyone lay a hand on me or hurt me ever again.

“Yes, I just did,” I said, lifting my chin high as I stared directly into his furious face. “And what exactly are you going to do about it?”

Even though my heart was pounding frantically and a small part of me was terrified deep within, I didn’t let him see a single bit of it. I kept my expression completely cold, refusing to show any weakness.

Daniel’s jaw clenched so hard that the bone popped, and he suddenly lunged forward to grab my shoulders. But before his fingers could touch my clothes, Clara suddenly surged forward, throwing her body between us.

“Don’t you dare touch her! Don’t you fucking dare!” she yelled at the top of her lungs, shoving her hands against Daniel’s chest.

Daniel didn’t even hesitate. With a dark snarl, he raised his arm and pushed Clara back roughly. He used so much force that she completely lost her balance, staggering backward across the tiled floor before slumping roughly to the ground.

“Goodness!” Clara gasped, clutching her scraped elbow as she hit the floor.

My eyes widened in horror, and I instantly turned my head toward her. “Clara!” I called out, my heart dropping into my stomach as I tried to rush forward to rescue her and pull her up.

But before I could take a single step, Daniel’s hand shot out like a vice grip, immediately grabbing my arm with brute force.

“And where the hell do you think you are going?” he sneered, yanking my small body forcefully back toward his chest in one rough, aggressive move.

My heart skipped a terrifying beat. The sheer disgust of being pressed against his body made me snap. I began to hit his chest violently with my free fist, screaming at the top of my lungs. “Let me go! Stop it! Let me fucking go, Daniel!”

Daniel’s grip on my arms tightened even further, his sharp nails digging roughly into the sensitive skin of my wrists and fingers, bruising me without an ounce of care.

“And who the hell says you have the right to slap me, Bunny?” he sneered directly into my face, his toxic breath fanning over my skin.

“Whatever gave you the right to spank my ass gave me the absolute right to slap your face!” I sneered back, spitting the words right into his face.

His expression darkened to a terrifying shade of purple. “You have been growing wings lately, Bunny. Going around this campus and parading yourself like a cheap little whore just because you have some new clothes.”

I let out a harsh, mocking laugh, looking him dead in the eye. “Thank you for the compliment! But I would rather be anything else than a disgusting, lying cheat like you.”

“A cheat?” Daniel repeated, letting out a loud, arrogant scoff as if the word amused him. “You call me a cheat? Come on, Bunny! Don’t act like you don’t fucking know how the world works. All men cheat. It is literally in our nature. Besides, men don’t actually cheat on the women they love… we just occasionally refresh our cocks.”

A wave of pure, stomach-turning irritation washed over me. His words were so incredibly foul and pathetic. But as the disgust settled in, a sudden, comforting thought flashed through my mind. Xavier. My Xavier would never cheat on me. He would never say something so cheap or treat me like an object.

“You utterly irritate me,” I said, my voice dripping with pure disdain.

Daniel’s cheeks curled into a slow, twisted smile, his eyes dropping down to look at my lips. “And you turn me on so much when you act tough. Come back to me, Bunny.”

I blinked in utter disbelief, staring at him as if he had completely lost his mind. I wondered if he was even mentally stable. “You and I are done for good, Daniel. There is no us. There will never be an us again.”

Daniel stared down at me for a brief, silent second before he suddenly burst into a loud, mocking fit of laughter. “There is no us just because you say so? I have not given you the permission or the right to dismiss this relationship, Bunny. You are mine! And you belong to me alone.”

Clara finally managed to push herself up from the floor, her eyes blazing with anger as she stepped closer. “You absolute psychopath, let her go right now!”

“Get the fuck away from us!” Daniel roared. Without even looking at her, he swung his arm out and pushed her straight back to the floor for a second time.

My heart completely cracked at the sight of my friend being humiliated because of me. The anger inside me exploded, and I instantly began to hit Daniel hard in the chest, using every single ounce of strength in my body.

“You animal! You absolute beast, let me go! Let me go!”

“I won’t let you go,” Daniel growled back, locking his arms around me tightly, completely trapping me against his chest. “I won’t let you go until you look me in the eye and agree to come back to me.”

“I would never fucking do that! In your wildest dreams, Daniel! Let me go, you absolute lunatic!” I screamed, my voice cracking with overwhelming rage. “You cheated on me, you mocked me, you insulted me for months, and now… now you think you can just force me back? I am not interested in you! I am already with someone else!”

The moment those words left my mouth, Daniel went completely, terrifyingly still.

The smugness vanished from his face, replaced by a dark, dangerous wave of possessive anger. He began to dig his nails even deeper into my skin, turning my wrists white from the pressure.

“Did I just hear you say you are with someone else?” he whispered, his voice dangerously low. “Who? Tell me who the fuck it is! Who are you with, Bunny?!”

“It is absolutely none of your business!” I groaned angrily, struggling against his tight hold. “Let me go right now, or I swear to God I will call him, and he will completely ruin your entire life!”

I badly, desperately wanted to shout Xavier’s name right into his face to scare him off. But as I looked at Clara out of the corner of my eye, I froze. Clara still saw Xavier as nothing but a dangerous, toxic bad boy. I knew she wouldn’t be happy to hear that I was sleeping with him and living in his house. She would think I was ruining my life.

“Tell me who the person is! Tell me who the person fucking is!” Daniel growled aggressively, shaking my shoulders as his eyes searched my panicked face. “Is it that good-for-nothing Xavier Thorne? Huh? The one who placed a bet on you? Is it him?!”

“Let me…”

The words completely trailed off my tongue, dying right in my throat. My entire body went completely, terrifyingly still as Daniel’s words settled heavily into my brain.

Xavier… he made a bet on me.

The brutal words echoed violently inside my ears over and over again. My lips parted in a silent gasp, my lashes blinking rapidly as a wave of absolute disbelief and suffocating pain rushed through my chest.

“What???” I asked softly, my voice barely above a broken whisper as I stared into Daniel’s eyes, desperately searching them for any sign that he was lying, praying for some form of relief that would prove my heart hadn’t just been shattered all over again.
