Chapter 181 EPILOGUE
Chapter 181 EPILOGUE
ALMA
“He looks so handsome like me, but his blue eyes are so beautiful like yours,” Sebastian said softly as he held our baby.
I chuckled, folding up our clothes. He had insisted on recovering at home, and I was more than okay with it. I'm so fed up with the sterile smell of the hospital.
“I’m so sorry, Alma. I couldn’t take care of you,” he said, his voice heavy with sadness.
My chest tightened. I walked over and gave him a quick kiss. He froze for a moment before a warm smile spread across his face.
“How many times have you done this?” he asked, raising a brow as if daring me to answer.
I rubbed my jaw dramatically. “A thousand times. I kissed you a thousand times every day for six months—do the math.”
His mouth fell open in shock. “That’s why I’m feeling pain on my lips. This woman has been assaulting me,” he said, turning to our baby, who was staring blankly. “Your mother has been stealing kisses from me. Can you imagine that?”
My heart sank. I rushed over and clamped my hand over his mouth.
“Don’t say such words like ‘kiss’ in front of him!”
He shook my hand off, grinning. “You just said it.”
I shut my eyes and took a deep breath. “Let’s give it a nickname. When you and I want to say our mouths met, we’ll say we ‘K.’ And the other thing… we can say ‘S.’ We’ll use the first letter when we’re in front of the child.”
He nodded instantly, still grinning.
“That’s it, good boy. I now have two baby boys—one is Daddy and the other one is Baby,” I said, laughing as he frowned, clearly not okay with being called a boy.
I finished packing just as the door clicked open. Diana and Elijah stepped in.
“Oh my man!” Elijah exclaimed, rushing over to carry the baby.
“Careful, babe. He’s only two days old,” Diana reminded him. Elijah nodded, holding the baby gently as he sat on the bed. She sat beside him.
Because of Sebastian’s condition, they had postponed their wedding, but now we could all make the required preparation. I want it to be their best day.
Sebastian turned to me and gestured for me to come closer. I blinked in confusion but stepped forward. He motioned for me to come even closer. My breath hitched, but I obeyed.
“Tonight, I want to ‘S’ with you, please. I’ve missed you,” he blurted out shamelessly.
My entire body flushed hot. A shiver ran down my spine.
“Sebastian!” I yelled, hitting his shoulder as I turned my back to him. My cheeks burned fiercely.
“What’s wrong, Alma?” Diana asked.
I turned to face them. Their eyes darted between Sebastian and me.
“A couple’s words,” Sebastian said smugly.
They exchanged a knowing look before bursting into laughter, making my body burn with embarrassment.
We arrived home, and just as I had discussed with Anna, she prepared a delicious meal. Everyone was present. We decided to put our differences aside and welcome Sebastian back with open hearts.
I watched as our family came back together. My father had decided to move back home, and Lady Flores chose to stay with us so she could teach me how to bathe the baby properly.
Mrs. Mandoza decided to stay in their old house so she could also spend time with both of her grandchildren.
The entire day was filled with happiness. It felt like my light had returned. Before 7pm, everyone started heading back to their rooms or homes.
“You need to rest, Alma. I’ll take care of the child tonight,” Lady Flores said as soon as I finished feeding him.
I nodded and handed over the baby. She pressed a gentle kiss to his forehead before carrying him to her room.
Sebastian had promised we could convert one of the upstairs rooms into a nursery once he recovered more.
I heated up the expressed breast milk and took it to Lady Flores before heading upstairs to Sebastian.
“Yeah, sure. I’m good. I still owe you one favor because of your intervention that day,” Sebastian said on the phone, taking a slow sip of warm water. The doctor had suggested he stick to warm water for a while.
“You can do the favor now. I need a tip on how to get a woman who’ll love me the way Alma loves you." Nick’s voice came through.
I rolled my eyes, trying not to pay too much attention as I reached for my nightgown and laid it on the bed.
“You also have to treat her right, and she’ll reciprocate,” Sebastian said. “And be good in bed too.”
My eyes widened in shock as I gasped.
He grinned at me.
I could hear Nick laughing hard on the other end. “I don’t think only your stomach is hurt—your head is hurt too.”
I didn’t always agree with Nick, but this time, I did. Sebastian had been incredibly dirty ever since he woke up.
“Catch up with you later, man. I’m starving,” Sebastian said and hung up.
He had just eaten. What the heck is he starving for?
“Why did you have to lie to him? Haven’t you just finished eating?” I asked casually as I headed to the bathroom.
I stepped inside, switched on the shower, and let the water rush over me. Suddenly, I felt a strange uneasiness, as if someone had stepped in. I opened my eyes and froze.
Sebastian was standing there, staring at me.
My brow furrowed in disbelief.
“I’m really starving, Alma. Just a little, okay? Let’s have an "S," he said shamelessly.
My entire body froze. Before I could process anything, Sebastian entered the shower and crashed his mouth against mine. My heart dropped as my body came alive. I wrapped my arms around him. I had missed him—his touch, his possessiveness over my body.
Suddenly, it hit me—the tattoo.
I pulled away, our breaths ragged. His eyes searched mine in shock.
“Sebastian, I still haven’t shown you the surprise I talked about during our wedding.”
His brow furrowed as he tried to remember. “Where is it?”
I giggled and turned my back to him. A thick silence settled. My chest raced as I waited for his reaction.
Suddenly, I felt his lips kiss the tattoo on my waist. I gasped, biting hard on my lower lip.
“I love you, Alma. I love everything about you,” he whispered, his hands moving over my stomach. My legs went up on tiptoe as pleasure coiled in my lower belly. Before I could process anything, he turned me to face him, lifted me, and I wrapped my legs around his waist.
“I want you, Alma,” he whispered before claiming my mouth again as we made our way out of the bathroom to the bedroom.
TWO WEEKS LATER
My father had announced that today was Johanna’s memorial. During my mother's memorial last time, it had just been him and me visiting my mother’s grave. Today, Sebastian joined us. We decided to do it privately—just the three of us.
“Jenny, I have brought you justice. Luis is no more, and I’m here with your sister, who is now my wife, and your father. They are now part of my family. Thank you for letting me be your friend and boyfriend. It’s unfortunate we didn’t get to do everything we planned, but I’m grateful fate brought me back to you through your family. I promise to take care of them,” Sebastian said solemnly.
“Jenny, I really want to remember you, and I hope I do,” I whispered, tears slipping down my cheeks. “Before, I was scared I couldn’t take the memories. But now… I really want to remember.”
Sebastian rubbed my back soothingly.
My father said a few quiet words, and then we headed back home.
To continue our lives with the new person in our world—Miguel, our cute little son.
