Chapter 166 Little Woman

Chapter 166 Little Woman
SEBASTIAN

“You came here to mock me, didn’t you?” Luis said with a scoff. He had grown thinner in just a day. That was the least punishment for everything he had done.

“You are something else, Sebastian. You even brought my wife here to mock me.”

I scoffed. “Your wife...”

Alma held my wrist as if silently telling me not to say anything.

I sighed and kept quiet.

“Your wife, you said,” she chuckled bitterly. “I was never your wife. You were just a tool I needed to hold on to while my father received proper treatment,” she said coldly.

Luis scoffed, trying to speak.

“And,” she cut him off instantly, “you once mentioned how you missed the moment when I begged you to let me reach my climax, even if it meant using your finger,” she said boldly.

My brow furrowed in disbelief. I had never heard that part before.

My eyes shifted to the officer standing beside the door, waiting for Luis. He looked just as surprised as I was.

“But guess what? My vibrator does it far better than you ever could. And, more importantly, Sebastian is far better than you.”

I almost choked on my own spit.

Damn this little woman. Why is she always so unpredictable?

I could see Luis sitting there dumbfounded, his eyes burning with fury and disbelief. He was clearly shocked that she could say something like that so freely in front of everyone.

“You're a rapist who couldn’t even satisfy your own wife. What a shameless man,” the officer standing by the door said, clicking his tongue in mockery.

“I’m not his wife,” Alma snapped.

The officer nodded instantly.

“My apologies... ex-wife,” he corrected.

Luis slammed his hand against the glass.

“Alma, I will deal with you. I promise.”

She scoffed.

“Maybe in the afterlife, because you’re not coming out of here alive,” she mocked.

I chuckled as I watched her. She really knew how to rub salt into someone's wounds. Judging by the way Luis's fists tightened and his teeth clenched, her words had hit their mark.

“ALMA!” he roared.

“Keep your mouth shut. I wish I had known who Jenny was and what our relationship was when Sebastian first mentioned her. I wouldn’t have waited for the law. I would have poisoned you to death.”

“It’s okay, Alma,” I said softly, urging her to calm down.

She rolled her eyes and folded her arms across her chest, staring at Luis in disgust.

“Just start the countdown, Alma. Before this week is over, I’ll be out of this place, and I’ll pay you and your father a visit,” Luis said smugly.

My chest tightened.

I could see Alma was affected by his words.

He still believed his lawyer was in the state. And even if he was, I knew the location of the company where his younger brother worked as an intern and where he lived. If that lawyer made the mistake of doing something reckless, I would use his younger brother against him.

“We’ll see about that, Luis,” I said, raising to my feet.

I gestured to the officer for the papers. He walked over and handed them to me.

It would have been difficult to get Luis to sign the divorce papers willingly, so I had asked the prison welder to attach the divorce documents to the prison forms before handing them over for his signature. It worked perfectly.

“As you can see, Luis, you’ve already divorced Alma. She’s no longer tied to you. She’s now my wife and the mother of all my future children,” I said, helping Alma to her feet while holding the signed papers up for him to see through the glass.

Luis’s brow furrowed in confusion as his eyes locked onto the documents. His signature was clearly visible.

“What’s that? I never signed that!” he yelled.

I shook my head with a sarcastic smile.

“Of course you fucking did,” I said before turning toward the exit.

“Alma! I won’t let any of you live happily! I promise!” I heard Luis screaming behind us.

I didn’t bother responding as we walked away.

The drive was unusually quiet. She kept staring out the window.

Was she thinking about what Luis had said? About coming back for her and her father?

That shouldn’t worry her.

There was no way he was getting out of prison in his condition. And even if his lawyer tried something, there was no chance of getting him released before trial. Besides, how could the lawyer risk anything when his younger brother’s life could be in danger?

“Alma, what’s wrong? You should be happy. Luis finally signed the divorce papers,” I said.

She exhaled and turned to look at me.

“I noticed you were communicating with the male nurse using sign language. Where did you learn it?” she asked.

My brow furrowed in confusion.

Was that what she had been thinking about all this time?

“I learned it because some of my patients couldn’t speak or hear. At least the male nurse can hear, even if he can’t speak,” I replied.

She nodded. “That makes sense.”

I smiled and focused on the road as another thick silence settled between us.

Suddenly, something occurred to me.

I turned toward her.

“Alma, there’s something I want to show you,” I said excitedly.

Her brow furrowed.

“What is it?” she asked.

“It’s the maternal home I told you about. It’s not far from here. Do you want to see it?” I asked, slowing down as the street leading to it came into view.

Her expression instantly brightened.

“Really? Let’s go then.”

I chuckled, pleased by her excitement, and turned onto the next street.

“How long are you going to keep running the home?” she asked, watching me.

“Until I take my last breath.”

Her brow furrowed.

“That’ll be a very long time,” she said softly. “You’ll be really old.”

I laughed.

“What if I die before I grow old? Won’t you help me keep it running?”

She froze, staring at me in disbelief as tears immediately gathered in her eyes.

My chest tightened.

Damn it.

I was only joking.

“I’m joking, Alma. Okay?” I said quickly, my eyes shifting between her and the road.

“So you're still holding on to your favorite song, 'I Miss You More Than Life,'” she blurted out as tears slipped down her cheeks.

My brow twisted in disbelief.
Damn it.
