Bad news
Sedrik
I was having conflicting thoughts as I left my quarters and walked down the stairs of my mansion to the outdoor area.
My beloved wife had just given birth, it was a tense and very fearful moment on my part. I was afraid that whole moment that something could happen to her, afraid of losing her or even losing the baby. After I married Alana, I lived based on fear. I always had some fear that something could happen to her, which is why I was always very careful with her.
But everything had worked out, Alana was strong and managed to give birth to that child. The child was born strong and healthy. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until I discovered that the child was actually a girl and not a boy. So my controversial thoughts are starting to overwhelm me now. How the hell did I end up having a girl at the first chance?
This had never happened before. How could a godmother be led by a woman? Not that I was being misogynistic or anything, but I had never heard of a pack that had a woman, even if she was an Alpha, in command. So that pack would be the first one where this could happen?
Was that because I had married a witch and not a normal wolf? I wanted to laugh in my face, Alana and I were so used to the idea that we were going to be parents and everything, imagining a thousand and one things that could happen that would only add to our happiness, but we never stopped really to analyze things and see that, in fact our child would not be a normal child but a special child, after all, he would have a wolf father and a witch mother. Of course, there will always be some surprises.
People were drinking outside, waiting for news of the birth of the next Alpha. It was a custom among those people that on the day the alpha was born, everyone had to leave their work, and the tasks they were doing, get a glass of drink, and anxiously wait with the others for the announcement of the birth of the next Alpha. So when I suddenly opened the doors of my castle, there were my people sitting in the square with apprehension. They were all looking at me expectantly.
"He was born! An Alpha was born today!” I yelled, announcing that to them.
A burst of cheers and jubilation was heard throughout the pack as everyone celebrated the birth of the new Alpha. Most of them came over to hug me and congratulate me, patting my back and laughing big as they congratulated me.
“Congratulations, Sedrik. Apparently, it's time for you to pass the tooth crown, old man,” one of them said, and everyone else burst out laughing.
“At least I'm going to stop putting up with you stinking shits,” I said to them in a rowdy tone, and they burst out laughing. “Drink until your ass is full today! Today is the day to celebrate!”
They laughed happily, and then music and drinks were distributed throughout the kingdom, with everyone celebrating everywhere, after all, it was the birth of an Alpha, and everyone had to rejoice. I demanded to be given a drink and drank with my men until late while I messed around, trying not to think about that irritating dilemma that I didn't want to leave my mind for anything.
A girl…
What would I do with this shit? How could a girl, no matter how alpha, lead a pack? This had never happened, and it was only happening now on my turn? It was definitely a punishment from the goddess for having married a witch, she was enjoying challenging me.
I went crazy that night, I fought with people, I hit some of them, and I ran in my wolf form around the pack as if celebrating wildly, all of this to hide what I was really feeling. Holy shit, what would I do with a girl? I knew Alana needed me there in our quarters, I could feel that she was calling me, but I just couldn't respond, not while I was still so confused and didn't know what to do.
So I was gone for days, hunting with my wolves in the middle of the woods and feeding on game in my wolf form like the savage that I was, ignoring Alana's cry that I felt inside me.
"I'd like to say that the Sedrik I know is back since you're here hunting and being your usual wild self, which you haven't done in a while," Gwendol commented with a giggle as I, in my wolf form, was lying under the lunar tree looking for peace.
I grunted in response. It was true that he kept picking on me about it. “I never changed, I was always the same,” I grumbled, not wanting to talk.
“Argh, you have changed,” he said in his wolf form, pushing his nose into my shoulder. “We know that you have become a sissy since you got married, all worried about your wife, and so on. But it is normal; no one can live recklessly forever; there is a time when we have to grow and mature,” he said.
“Tell me you then, you got two women pregnant,” I laughed mockingly.
“Grr! Don't talk about it. I suffered an injury, yes. Both sisters were desperate for a husband, they got involved with me at the same time and then invented that they were pregnant with me, but in reality, they weren't,” he said, making me laugh internally.
“By the goddess, how crazy.”
“Yeah, and I was already liking the idea of being a father,” he grumbled, and then pushed me again with his nose. “Which makes me wonder what the fuck you're doing here,” he nudged me.
"What?"
“I mean, didn’t your wife give you a baby recently? Shouldn't you be there with her, watching everything and participating in your child's life with her? Why are you just abandoning her? Do you happen to regret marrying her?” He was surgical in his questions.
I grunted unhappily. I didn't even want to think about it. “That’s none of your business.”
“I am the closest person to you here. If I don’t ask this who else will?” He insisted. “I'm worried that you're hurting Alana, she's a great woman, and it looks like you definitely don't deserve her.” He walked away after that.
I grunted and remained silent, completely sad. It was true that I was hurting my wife and I didn't want that. I hadn't been happy to know that she had given birth to a girl, but I needed to be with her because despite everything, I still loved her.
So I got up and went home like a sorry dog.
