I Want To Sleep With You
I Want To Sleep With You
CHAPTER 63
OLIVIA
My voice broke, the tears finally slipping down. I didn’t bother to wipe them. "And honestly, it’s not fair asking me who I would’ve chosen if Marcus was perfect or not. That doesn’t change anything. It wouldn’t change how I feel about you." My throat burned as I swallowed hard. “It never will.”
He said nothing. Just stood there — staring, unreadable, his silence heavier than words. He reached it though, to catch the tear slipping down my cheeks. But then, the quiet still stretched on until I couldn’t take it anymore.
"Can we just get over this, please?" I said softly, my voice small and tired. "I miss you. I miss us."
I blinked, forcing a sad, pouty smile, "I’m sorry, babe," I whispered. "I choose you. And I'll choose you a million times again. I'm sorry for being inconsiderate about your feelings. I really am."
His eyes fluttered shut, his jaw working. I hesitated — then reached for him again, carefully, running my trembling fingers along the sides of his stomach. His warmth bled through the thin fabric of his shirt, grounding me in a way words never could.
"I don’t think Marcus and I would’ve had a future together," I murmured. "I think you and I are always meant to be — regardless of what happened. I mean, who would have thought we’d ever get back together after all that?"
His eyes opened slowly, locking with mine. I caught the faint twitch of his lips — hesitation, conflict. My breath hitched.
I grew bolder, sliding my hands up his chest again, feeling the hard muscles tense beneath my touch. My voice came out a whisper. "Forgive me?"
He didn’t answer. Not right away.
Then, in one fast swoop, like something in him switched, he pulled me by the waist and crushed me against him, his hand gripping my hip possessively. The air rushed out of my lungs. He held me really close for long minutes until he slowly pulled back, looking down at me with a mix of fire and frustration. "It’s really, really hard to stay mad at you," he muttered finally.
I released a shaky, relieved sigh, the tension melting from my body. "Good. Because I hate it when you get mad at me."
He huffed, shaking his head. "Nah. I think you do enjoy it."
I gasped, "No, I don't."
He raised a brow, and I couldn't just help the giggle that tumbled out of me, "okay maybe just a little."
A flicker of amusement crossed his face, his eyes lightening up, before he wrapped his arms tighter around me, enclosing me in the kind of hug that made time stop. So, so tight and warmer.
And when he pulled away, his lips found mine in an instant. His fingers gently holding my chin as he angled my face to kiss me better.
It was hungry. And desperate. Causing my breath to hitch as his mouth moved along mine with a kind of need that burned through reason. His hand slid up, fingers curling around the back of my neck, firm and possessive as he deepened the kiss, his tongue finding mine in a desperate need.
I melted into him, tasting the salt of my own tears on his lips.
I clutched his shirt, the fabric bunching in my fists, wanting to pull him even closer, to erase every inch of space that had ever existed between us.
When we finally broke apart, our breaths mingled, heavy and ragged. His forehead rested against mine. "Don’t ever do that to me, again," he whispered, his voice was low, rough, even though part of me wanted to laugh from relief.
I giggled, and he stared at me suspiciously with narrowed eyes. "What?" he asked.
I shrugged, then giggled, "I mean...I don't plan to. Unless you want to...propose again?"
"Hell no."
A sudden laugh tumbled out of my mouth immediately, from deep in my belly. My head was thrown back as I laughed so uncontrollably. It was the look in his face when he said that. He didn't even hesitate.
I wheezed, until there was no more laugh left in me.
I saw the look of adoration in his eyes, the smile on his lips slowly becoming wider as he pulled me by the waist to his chest. The laugh slowly died on my lips as he hugged me so close, burying his face in the crook of my neck.
My hands found the back of his hair and my fingers tangled in his locks. He let out a long breath as he held my tight. "I've missed you too." He breathed on my neck.
"I miss you more. You have no idea." I held him tighter. "I don't want to ever let go of you, and I can't believe we're getting married tomorrow," I said, unable to hide the smile on my face. " And I can't wait for you to meet Zoey. We are going to be one happy family."
He pulled back a bit and ran his hands up my arm. Just eyes were calm and trusting, his expression softening instantly, "I can't wait to meet her too." He said quietly.
My lips parted to let him know that I had made plans for their official meeting tomorrow, but I refrained, having a much better idea.
Rather, I said. "You'll see her soon. We have all the time in the world. I think few days after the wedding won't be so bad."
Damon heaved a sigh, running his hands across his face. "You have no idea how badly I want that. I'd give anything to see her right now."
I smiled. "And you will. You'll see her soon, I assure you. She's very lucky to have you as her Daddy."
His smile widened just as the sound of crunching caught our attention. "We need to get you out of this room." Damon said as he stared at the broken glasses on the floor.
"I want to stay with you." I said immediately, not caring where he was about to take me, as long as I would be with him.
"Did you think I was going to let you sleep on your own after this?"
I shrugged, my voice lowering, "I hope not. But...is that allowed? I mean, are we supposed to sleep together the night before our wedding?" I asked, knowing fully well that I meant that in the literal and non literal sense.
"I'm not about to let you sleep under this roof alone. Not happening. Who knows what would have happened if I hadn't arrived on time? You're
sleeping with me tonight, and I don't care what anyone thinks about that."
