Chapter 63 Chapter Sixty-Three
Chapter 63 Chapter Sixty-Three
I must have been more tired than I thought. When we got home we basically went straight to bed. I don't remember when I fell asleep, but I don’t wake up until the next morning. I move a little and smile when I realize Malakai's arm is wrapped tightly around me.
My mate. Malakai is my mate. Not just that, but now everyone in the pack knows. Anyone that doesn't know, will know instantly just by seeing the mark on my shoulder. My mate’s mark. I am marked and I have never felt closer to Malakai or anyone for that matter. This is the best feeling in the world.
"Good morning, mate." I whisper when I feel Malakai move a little behind me. I don't know exactly how I knew he was awake, but I did. Maybe it's the bond.
"Good morning, Angel. How did you sleep?" Malakai whispers, breath hot on my ear.
“I slept great. I’m sorry I fell asleep so fast last night. I don’t even remember falling asleep.” I say, laughing a little.
Malakai chuckles. “It’s okay Angel. Yesterday was a big day for you. Plus, being marked by your mate kind of drains your energy.”
I smile. “I didn’t know that, but I love hearing you call yourself my mate.”
Malakai kisses the side of my head. “Well get used to it baby. I am your mate and I will say it a hundred times a day if it makes you happy.”
“It does make me very happy.” I pause, frowning a little. “Do you think my dad is going to be mad?” I ask hesitantly, already knowing the answer. Of course, my dad is going to be pissed. He wanted me to be with someone my age, not his best friend. I just hope he doesn’t react to badly. He is already sick; I don’t want him to stress him out even more. That won’t help him get better.
Malakai sighs. “Baby, I’m not going to lie and say he won’t be mad. I’m sure he’s going to be shocked, and definitely angry at first. He will get over it though, once he sees how happy you are. Your dad knows I want nothing but the best for you. I would do absolutely anything for you, even before I knew you were my mate baby.”
I nod slowly. “Yeah, I’m sure you are right.”
He kisses my head again. “Don’t stress about it baby. I will be right there with you the whole time. You don’t have to do it alone.”
I roll over and smile at him. “I love you so much Malakai.”
“I love you too Leilani.” He says, smiling at me.
I lean over and give him a kiss. “What do you think he will say when he finds about me being a Legacy Wolf? My mom was one too and he doesn’t know about that either, maybe I should read him the letter. That way he won’t be so surprised or mad. Whatever he is going to be.”
Malakai smiles. “That’s a wonderful idea baby. I’m sure he has wondered about the letter since your mother wrote it. She made him swear to never read it and he kept that promise. It would be nice for him to hear from her one last time, even if it’s just reading something she wrote.”
“I hope he doesn’t get upset with mom, you know since she never told him about what she is or was.” I say, looking at Malakai with a slightly sad expression.
Every time I think about my mom, I get a little sad. I wish she was around now to help me with all this stuff. I have so many questions, especially about her gifts. I wonder if she has the same gifts as me? Was she able to control them? Did they make her stronger? I have so many questions and no one I can ask.
I mean I guess I could ask Samina, but she only heard stories from her parents. I’m not sure how much help I can get from her. I guess it’s worth a shot though. Samina did know more than anyone else in the pack, even if she wasn’t sure my mom was a Legacy Wolf when she was still alive, she knows now. Maybe there is some stuff she can tell me about my mom that no one else knew.
Malakai pushes a strand of my hair away from my face and smiles. “Your dad couldn’t get mad at your mother even when she was alive. I highly doubt she would get mad at her now.”
I laugh a little. “Yeah, it would be kind of stupid to get mad at someone that isn’t here anymore.”
Malakai smiles. “How about we go downstairs, eat some breakfast and you can call your dad? I don’t want you worrying all day. You will feel so much better after you tell him everything.”
“That sounds perfect.” I say and give him one more kiss.
We get out of bed, and I go to my closet, pulling out a pair of jeans and a tank top. Ever since Malakai marked me my shoulder feels kind of tender and hot. Which I know is normal, it will be a little tender for a few days. I don’t mind though; it makes me feel more connected to him.
Malakai puts on some jeans and a T-shirt. I don’t know how he can look so damn sexy, wearing something so simple. All I know is it’s a good thing he is my mate. If he wasn’t whoever my mate was would have probably tried to kill him, because I would have been checking Malakai out constantly. Just like when I was younger and having some seriously hot fantasies about him.
We make our way downstairs and I just about have a heart attack when we walk into the kitchen. There at the table is my dad. Just sitting there eating. When did he get here? What is he doing here? Did someone tell him about me and Malakai? I swear if someone said something to him after I specifically ordered them not to, there will be some serious punishments happening.
