Chapter 70

Emeralds POV

We drove to Cherise and Ryders house. We walked into the house after seeing Ryders truck in the driveway. I went inside to say hello to again. I went to the kitchen where everybody usually congregated at. Amelia was sitting at the dining room table coloring while Cherise was getting some drinks out of the fridge to make some home made non alcoholic drinks.

“So what do you think?” She asked as she gestured to the spread of drinks.

“This is awesome.” I said.

“Ryder isn’t thrilled.” Said Cherise.

“Why?” I asked as Jeremy went to the back door.

“He’s a man and likes alcohol in his drinks. So he’s not the happiest camper so he bought beer earlier this morning for tonight.” Said Cherise.

I rolled my eyes. “Men.”

“I second that.” She said as Tanya walked in.

“Wow this blue drink is so pretty.” She said as she picked the glass up off the counter.

“Thank you. I thought so.” Cherie said.

I took a pink one and decided to give it a try. “Mine tastes like cotton candy. You could create a business out of this if you market it right.”

“You think so?” She asked.

“I definitely think so.” I said as we went outside with the boys.

I immediately climbed in the heated pool. But I lazed around by the shallow end sitting on the step so I can be mostly in the water but still reach my drink. I sat there and Jeremy stayed talking to Ryder.

Cherise and Tanya came and sat by me with Amelia following close behind us.

Cherise lifted her into the pool. She let her sit by her for a minute to get used to the water before allowing her to swim the rest of the pool. She played while we talked about this year.

“I want to put a drink list together now. Just to see how the market would do. I bet it would make a killing for pregnant women, women that want a good time during the week but don’t want to get drunk. I mean that would be cool for me who is a non alcoholic drinker.” I explained.

“I could see that. Usually anything you set your mind to tends to go places.” Said Tanya.

“I think we’ll have to talk over some ideas.” Said Cherise.

“For sure.” I said.

“So when are you seeing Jeremy’s island?” Asked Tanya.

Suddenly we heard from right next to us, “Oooh girl, you are finally going to see his island?!”

Cherise and I jumped, Tanya squealed, and the men laughed as Theo had appeared next to us in the pool. He was wearing a blue navy swim trunks with black stripes that matched his hair. It was streaked blue and black and his tattoos matched. He had no shirt on and his nails were painted the same colors.

“Wow. I like the nails.” Said Tanya.

“Thank you darling. Now sweetie, what is this I hear about you going to Jeremy’s island?” Said Theo.

“He did invite me to see his island. I am actually excited. I can’t wait to see how it looks.” I said.

“I think it’s about time you saw it.” He said lifting a pink drink in salute.

“I definitely think it’s about time too.” I said.

“I should be there when you see it too. I want to see your reaction. I’m very curious to see what you think.” He said.

“Why is it bad or anything?” I asked.

“No. It’s like perfect. You won’t ever want to leave.” He said.

“That’s not true.” Jeremy said. “I’m glad you are beefing it up for my sake. But it’s not exactly perfect. I still think I can tweak stuff here or there to suit my needs and tailor it to what I want.”

“That’s good.” I said. “I can’t wait to see.”

He walked over, sat down behind me, dangled his feet in the pool on either side of me and kissed the top of my head. “I’m glad. I do hope you like it that much though. Hopefully you don’t mind being on the same island as my parents and brother. I mean it’s my own island but it’s a smaller one than my parents.”

“I’m sure I won’t mind.” I said.

“Hey there is nothing wrong with me living nearby.” Said Lucas who appeared in the deep end of the pool.

Jeremy rolled his eyes as I laughed and the girls squealed.

“There isn’t.” He said.

Luke had on black swim trunks and had on a baseball cap backwards.

“Yeah if you say so.” He said then Jeremy said in my ear, “His house is dirty and smells like garbage.”

“Does not.” He said.

“Does too.” Jeremy said.

“Does not.” He said.

“Sexy number one and sexy number two, please you two are giving me a headache.” Said Theo waving his fingers at them to get them to be quiet.

“Okay okay.” Said Jeremy and quieted down.

I smiled, “Thank you Theo.”

“You’re welcome.” He said.

“Whatever.” Grumbled Luke.

“You’re right they are funny.” Said Cherise.

“I told you.” I said.

“I’m actually surprised you guys are this funny. I thought you guys would be more boring. Like talking in the old god speak way.” Said Tanya.

“No. Definitely not. I hate talking that way. Jeremy and I both do. We can’t stand the way our parents talk to us. They say every word instead of shortening anything. It kind of gets obnoxious because I always feel like I’m in trouble.” Said Luke.

“That’s because you are always in trouble.” Jeremy said.

“I am not.” Said Luke.

“Ryder what do you think? Who is more of a trouble maker?” Said Theo.

“Why do you have to bring me into this nonsense?” Ryder asked as he swam on the deep end.

“Because it is interesting.” Said Theo.

“I don’t think so.” He said.

I laughed.

“Come on honey, don’t be so boring.” Said Cherise splashing the water.

He stuck his tongue out at her.

I laughed at them. I was definitely having fun and this is just what I needed. A fun night out where we had a lot of fun with no worries. Just us chilling and relaxing. We definitely needed more nights like this. Just fun times and no worries. That’s how we spent the rest of the night. We laughed, we talked, we hung out and spent time with each other. Even Amelia got in on the fun and games spending time with us that is until her bedtime. Ryder and Cherise liked to make sure her routine didn’t get too out of wack.

We only stayed until we felt like raisins. We had gotten out to eat and hung out playing cards and chilling and finally left around midnight. I was exhausted. I think Jeremy realized I was exhausted when I started to fall asleep on him while he played cards with the boys. He decided for us that it was time to go unfortunately. But I don’t think it was much fun for him to constantly wake me up to continue to talk or anything. So he decided that it was time to go home. I was definitely not fun once I got tired. I think everybody thought the same thing. That I was emotionally drained and exhausted.
