Chapter 207
Chapter 207
"You're full of shit!"
The old lady was furious. She pointed her cane at her: "Money you've never seen in your lifetime, why can't my granddaughter have it? Saying she's dirty—I think you're the dirty one! Get out, get out! From now on, you're not allowed to set foot in my husband's hospital room!"
"How can you not tell right from wrong, old lady? I came here with good intentions to visit you, and you..."
"Aunt!"
Larry couldn't take it anymore. With a stern face, he said: "My grandpa is still in the hospital. If you're not here to genuinely visit him, then leave!"
"Larry, how can you side with that bitch too? You should know, she..."
"Get out!"
The old man grabbed the glass from his bedside table and hurled it at Mrs. Stone.
Water and glass shards scattered everywhere.
Instantly, there were screams and scrambling—total chaos.
The old man was gasping for breath, pointing at Mrs. Stone and her group: "Get out, all of you! Out!"
With that last word, the old man seemed to use all his strength, full of force.
Mrs. Stone was immediately startled and didn't dare say another word.
Everyone could see something was wrong with the old man. Patrick quickly stepped forward.
"Dad, please don't be angry."
"How did I end up with a son like you?" The old man looked at Patrick with heartbreak: "You just stand there and watch that woman insult your daughter without saying a word? Fine, if you don't acknowledge your daughter, then starting today, I don't acknowledge you as my son either!"
After saying this, the old man began coughing violently.
Patrick panicked and tried to calm him down, but it was no use.
Larry also rushed over.
But the old man's emotions, which had finally stabilized, couldn't be suppressed anymore.
Jane hadn't cared what they said about her, but when they upset her family, she couldn't let it slide.
She stood up and walked toward Mrs. Stone.
Passing the old lady, she steadied her, took her cane, and said gently: "Grandma, don't be angry. Go check on Grandpa. Leave this to me."
Then she shot Mrs. Stone a cold, sharp look like a sword: "Money this, money that—so jealous that I have money. What, has the Stone family gotten so poor you can't afford food and have to eat shit from the toilet? Or have you eaten so much shit that it's filled your brain, making everything look dirty to you?"
As she spoke, she grabbed Mrs. Stone by the throat.
Mrs. Stone couldn't breathe. Her face turned red, tears welling up. She kept hitting Jane's hand, struggling to say: "Let... let go, you little bitch, let go..."
Not only did Jane not let go, she tightened her grip and smiled viciously: "You animal, worse than pigs and dogs. Since you can't speak like a human, you won't need to speak anymore!"
With those final words, quick as lightning, she tossed a pill into her mouth, then grabbed her chin and pushed it up hard. The pill went down her throat into her esophagus.
The whole sequence happened in one smooth motion. By the time Mrs. Stone realized what happened, she knew she'd swallowed something unknown and started screaming: "Jane, you bitch! What did you make me eat?"
Jane ignored her completely, just snorted contemptuously and pulled out a wet wipe to carefully clean her hands.
Mrs. Stone wanted to curse, but somehow, her throat suddenly couldn't make a sound.
Mr. Stone noticed something was wrong and immediately asked: "What's the matter?"
Mrs. Stone couldn't speak. She could only clutch her throat and shake her head frantically at her husband, trying to talk but unable to—looking both ridiculous and pathetic.
By now, everyone else had noticed something was wrong too.
Emma immediately asked: "Jane, what did you make her eat?"
Jane smiled coldly.
Of course it was a drug to make her mute.
Mrs. Stone's words were too harsh. This drug would keep her quiet for a while.
Before, Jill had given Anna a similar drug to prevent her from telling John what happened, but Jill's was the basic version that only lasted a day.
Jane's drug was the enhanced version. For the next three months, Mrs. Stone wouldn't be able to speak.
But she obviously couldn't admit this. She could only play dumb and said casually: "What could I have given her? Did you see anything?"
"Of course I saw it! You gave her a white pill."
"So what? Do you have proof?" Jane's smile was contemptuous.
"Jane, you're too arrogant. You think I won't report you?" Mr. Stone joined in, cursing at her.
"Be my guest. Your nephew is a lawyer—how convenient."
Larry, who'd been called out, walked over and looked at Jane with disgust: "Jane, you've gone too far. Don't think no one can deal with you. The law isn't just for show. You think I won't..."
Jane ignored him completely and pulled out her phone, dialing a number: "Alice, send some security guards to the hospital to watch over Grandpa and Grandma. From now on, without my permission, Mr. and Mrs. Stone are not allowed to step foot in the hospital room!"
With that, she hung up.
Emma was already furious from her series of actions, her finger trembling as she pointed at her: "Jane, you—what gives you the right to do this?"
"What gives me the right?" Jane gave her a 'how stupid are you' look, then waved her phone: "I recorded everything Mrs. Stone said just now. Their behavior has already affected my grandpa's recovery. I'm being nice by not calling the police."
"You..."
"Sis, don't waste time arguing with her."
Seeing Emma about to curse more, Mr. Stone quickly stopped her. "We need to get Jane to hand over the antidote first. That's what matters."
Only then did Emma react. She held out her palm toward Jane: "Give me the antidote. Otherwise, I'm calling the police right now, and you won't leave this room today!"
