Chapter One Hundred and Seventy - I Am Ready For The Next Chapter

Alyssa and I are in bed, wrapped in one another with only a sheet covering us. We have spent the last couple of hours making love as part of our celebration. She is happily cuddled into my side, with her head on my chest. I am happy she said yes. I was so damn nervous in case she didn’t. I don’t know how I would have taken that. I glance down at her hand on my chest, the ring on her fingers and smile widely. I never thought I would see the day I would be engaged to be married. I sure as hell didn’t think it would be to Alyssa, given how we were at the start, but I often wonder if that was just secret feelings and sensual tension that caused us to clash in such ways. None of that matters now. The most important thing is that we found one another and would soon be husband and wife, sooner rather than later, hopefully. I don’t want to wait too long. Of course, I want to enjoy our engagement for a bit, but I am eager to call her my wife. 

“Alyssa, can I tell you something?” I ask. 

Her eyes meet mine. “Of course you can, my love. What is on your mind?” 

I caress her face. “I was going to propose while we were travelling the world, but fear took over and I didn’t do it.” 

“Really? Why were you fearful?” 

“In case you weren’t ready. There were so many times I went to do it, but then my nerves got the best of me. Would you have said yes if I did then?” 

“I would have said yes.” 

“Damn it. I should have done it then.” I sigh. 

She climbs on top of me and sits up on my stomach. “None of that matters now, Wyatt. We are engaged now, and that is what is important.” 

Alyssa reaches down to kiss me softly before she lies on my chest, her face in my neck. I slip my arm around her, stroking the small of her back. “Yes, it is. Do you know when you want to get married?” 

“Hmm, maybe next year? I want us to enjoy being engaged for a little while. Is that okay?” she asks softly. 

“Yes, that is fine, whatever you want, beautiful.” 

I was hoping she would say six months, but I can wait a little extra time. It gives us the chance to plan our perfect wedding. 

“Thank you. I love you.” She says, kissing my neck softly. 

“I love you, too,” I reply and kiss the top of her head. 

My mom will freak when she finds out I have finally proposed. Everyone will, and they will be happy for us, but my mom more than anyone else. 

“See, when we do get married, I don’t want anything too big. I would prefer something more intimate.” 

“I am fine with that. I would prefer that.” I agree. 

I don’t want something massive with the press and full of people who are only there because of who I am and because they know my family. I want only us and the people closest to us. Family and close friends, nothing more.  

“I am happy we are on the same page. We can start planning when we return home.” 

“Yes, see what dates we can find for next year and a destination.” 

“I would like a summer wedding.” She says. 

“You can have whatever you want, sweetheart. All that matters is that I get to marry you.” 

I want it to be perfect and everything she had dreamt of for a wedding. I will give her whatever she wants. 

She lifts her head to look at me. “I can’t wait to become your wife, Wyatt.” 

“You and me both, beautiful.” 

I know the second I see her walk down the aisle, I will fall in love with her all over again. She is going to look breathtaking in a wedding dress, and it will probably make me cry. 

She reaches down to kiss me softly before rolling next to me and snuggling back into me. We will need to get cleaned up, but I want to stay in the moment with her just like this. I hug her tightly. 

“Thank you for saying yes to marrying me, Alyssa.” 

“Thank you for asking me.” 

I am ready for the next chapter of our lives. Our dynamic will change, too, but I am okay with that. Not everything will change. Alyssa hasn’t only been my submissive for a while now, and once we get married, it will change again. I am excited for everything new that will come our way.

It will be released in a couple of months, perhaps less, but I want to get as many pre-written chapters done as I can before I post. It will continue to follow Alyssa and Wyatt's love story and take a deeper dive into the world of BDSM. There will be twists and turns, but it will also be fun and lighthearted. It won't be as long as this one. Please keep your eye out for it.
