Chapter 73 Unwilling to Humiliate His Kindness
Olivia was momentarily stunned.
Bianca, who'd seen him like this before, wasn't fazed at all.
Instead, she cuddled up to Andrew and murmured, "You smell really good."
Olivia snapped out of it and caught a whiff too.
It was a faint, sophisticated cedar scent, subtle yet classy.
Andrew smiled and ruffled Bianca's hair, not bothering to respond. Instead, he turned to Olivia and said, "Hop in, Dr. Garcia."
Olivia nodded and was about to get in when David chimed in, "Dr. Garcia, is that guy looking for you?"
Olivia turned around, confused, and saw a car pulling up nearby.
A familiar figure stepped out.
It was Michael!
He had clearly seen her and was heading over as soon as he got out.
Olivia's expression darkened. She stepped away from the car and said to Andrew, "Sorry, Mr. Hamilton, I need a moment."
Andrew didn't mind and nodded slightly.
Olivia closed the car door and watched Michael approach with a cold stare. "What are you doing here?"
Michael glanced at David, then tried to peer into the back seat, his eyes sharp as if trying to see through the tinted windows.
But the car had privacy glass; he couldn't see a thing.
Michael frowned and asked, "Where's Bianca? Wasn't there supposed to be a performance? I just got out of a meeting and rushed over!"
Olivia found his blatant lie amusing. "By meeting, do you mean the parent-teacher conference at another preschool?"
Her expression was sarcastic, her tone icy, "Since you're so proud of your son, why are you still looking for Bianca? Michael, your insincerity is disgusting!"
Michael's face changed slightly, not expecting to be called out.
His first reaction was to question, "Have you been stalking me?"
Olivia laughed, "Do you think I'd waste my time? A quick search online, and it's all there!"
Michael frowned, clearly feeling guilty.
However, Olivia's bluntness and sarcasm made him furious.
Especially since there was a luxury car parked beside her.
Could it be Daniel again?
He remembered the scene at Bianca's birthday party when Daniel had supported them.
His face darkened, and he snapped, "Don't accuse me of anything. I think you've been planning this! My absence must suit you perfectly, giving you an excuse to find another man as a substitute?"
Olivia was furious at his shameless words, "There's no worse father than you in this world. Who are you trying to insult with 'substitute'?"
Michael's face turned grim.
Olivia didn't want to waste words with him.
They had nothing left to say to each other.
Today's behavior made her realize one thing.
Her Bianca didn't need a father like him!
With that thought, she ignored Michael and got back into the car.
Michael's face was cold, and he wanted to stop her.
But it was too late; he only caught a glimpse of a stranger and Bianca holding onto someone's sleeve in the back seat.
That didn't seem like Daniel?
Michael was furious and almost pulled the door open to see who the man was.
But his pride wouldn't let him do that.
It would make him seem like he cared too much about Olivia!
David saw everyone was in the car and quickly got back into the driver's seat, starting the car.
Soon, the car sped away.
Michael's face was twisted with anger.
'Good job, Olivia!
Flirting with so many men while still married!' He thought.
How had he not noticed her infidelity before?
Inside the car, the atmosphere was noticeably quiet.
Olivia's mood hadn't been greatly affected.
Once disappointed, she could only feel anger when facing him; no other emotions could be stirred.
She felt a bit apologetic, "Sorry, Mr. Hamilton, for dragging you into this!"
Today, his help was unexpected and kind.
She hadn't anticipated being misunderstood!
Michael's words made her feel like she had offended Andrew.
Andrew didn't mind.
He had already heard about Olivia's situation from Benjamin.
Besides, from Bianca's experiences, he could infer quite a bit.
"It's okay." He responded and didn't dwell on the topic, instead talking about Bianca.
"She has a talent for drawing. You could set a daily goal for her, like completing one piece a day. It could be people, objects, or scenery, without limitations. This can help develop her discipline.
Also, setting specific times for other activities can prevent her from getting lost in her own world."
Talking about Bianca's condition immediately made Olivia forget the earlier unpleasantness and listen attentively.
After speaking, Andrew asked, "Has she been practicing her music?"
"Yes!" Olivia quickly pulled out her phone to show him a video. "She loves the harmonica you gave her. She practices every morning."
It was pretty impressive.
Everything Andrew had given seemed to spark Bianca's talents.
She suddenly realized that Andrew might have noticed this and deliberately chosen those gifts.
If so, that was impressive!
He had only met Bianca a few times and could observe so keenly!
Andrew, unaware of her thoughts, focused on watching the video.
After a few seconds, he nodded appreciatively, "She indeed has artistic talent. Both in drawing and music, she's quite gifted!"
His words indirectly confirmed Olivia's suspicions.
She was beyond amazed.
The two continued to chat about various topics, including Lightning's training schedule.
During their conversation, they finally arrived at the restaurant.
This restaurant was exclusive, very popular in Emerald City, requiring reservations.
Olivia had booked a private room in advance.
However, due to the crowd, the service was slow.
Worried Andrew might wait too long, she asked, "Should we go somewhere else?"
"No need. If you recommend it, it's worth the wait. Besides, the busy atmosphere suggests the food is excellent. No rush." Andrew sipped his coffee elegantly, speaking slowly.
His every move exuded a pleasant nobility.
Olivia relaxed a bit.
Somehow, being with Andrew always made her feel a subtle tension.
Perhaps Andrew's presence was too strong?
Though he spoke gently, his inherent aura was undeniable.
This made her hesitant to meet his gaze for too long.
She could only glance at him occasionally...
Bianca, however, had no such concerns. She immediately started talking to Andrew about Lightning.
Bianca's voice combined with Andrew's magnetic tone created a harmonious scene.
Olivia didn't interrupt, sipping her coffee and listening to their conversation.
As she drank, she suddenly felt dizzy.
Her vision went black, and she almost fell off her chair.
At the crucial moment, she felt something support her arm briefly before disappearing.
Then Andrew's deep voice came, "Dr. Garcia, do you have low blood sugar?"
Olivia, feeling slightly better but still pale, forced a smile, "A little, but it's fine. The food should be here soon."
Andrew looked at her for a moment, then magically produced a piece of candy, placing it in front of her. "Eat something sweet; it will help."
Olivia, dizzy and distracted by his slender fingers, was even more lightheaded.
She wondered why Andrew carried candy.
But it was indeed the best remedy.
She didn't hesitate, unwrapped the candy, and put it in her mouth, mumbling a thank you.
Andrew didn't mind and handed Bianca a piece of candy too.
Bianca's eyes sparkled as she accepted it, but didn't forget to ask, "Mommy, are you okay?"
Olivia smiled at her, "I'm fine... I'll be better soon."
Bianca, still worried, watched her closely.
Andrew poured her a glass of hot water.
After drinking it, she felt much better.
Putting down the glass, she curiously asked Andrew, "How did you know I had low blood sugar?"
Andrew responded briefly, "When you sat down, you kept wiping your palms with a tissue. That's a common sign of low blood sugar."
Olivia realized, once again, admiring Andrew's keen observation skills as a psychologist.
It was almost laughable.
Her low blood sugar had always been an issue, occasionally acting up.
It had even happened in front of Michael a few times.
But Michael never cared about her health.
Four years of marriage, and he was less attentive than Andrew, whom she had just met!
As she felt this irony, the waiter finally brought their food.
During the meal, Olivia realized she had forgotten to ask Andrew about his preferences.
Worried, she asked, "These dishes are a bit spicy. I forgot to ask if you eat spicy food. Would you mind?"
Seeing her apologetic and anxious look, Andrew quickly reassured her, "I like it. The food is indeed excellent!"
He spoke while serving Bianca some food.
Before placing it on her plate, he asked Olivia, "Is it okay for her?"
Olivia replied, "Of course!"
Andrew placed the food down and noticed Bianca struggling to use her fork.
At home, she used a small children's fork, easy for her to hold.
But the restaurant didn't have such utensils.
So now, every time Bianca managed to fork some food, it fell off before reaching her mouth.
Finally, she pouted, feeling very frustrated.
She wanted to eat but couldn't!
Andrew couldn't help but smile, his usually cool demeanor softening, "Let me help you!"
Bianca agreed, letting him teach her patiently.
