Chapter 48 Mr. Hamilton is Really Awesome
Sophia could feel the odd stares aimed at her, making her feel like she was walking on pins and needles.
She was so mad that she almost crushed the wine glass in her hand.
Just then, Chase walked up to her and said, "Sophia, wanna dance?"
There was a noticeable eagerness in his eyes.
Sophia was irritated by his perfect timing.
But she didn't dare show it, so she put on a sad face and said, "Sorry, Chase. I'm really not in the mood right now. I messed up the project tonight, and your brother seems pissed. Now, everyone is looking at me weirdly!"
Chase couldn't stand to see her so down and immediately tried to comfort her, "How can this be your fault? It's all Olivia's doing. She messed up the project on purpose, out of spite! That woman has always been nasty. My brother saw through her a long time ago; he definitely won't blame you."
"Really?" Sophia seemed doubtful.
Chase reassured her, "Of course. You know how much my brother cares about you. And I'll always be on your side. So don't worry!
As for these people, don't pay them any mind. When you marry my brother, they'll know who the real Mrs. Johnson is."
Sophia nodded and finally managed a smile, "Thanks, Chase. I feel a lot better now. It's good to have you."
After leaving the party, Olivia went straight home.
When she walked in, she was surprised to see Michael in the living room.
Michael had already taken off his tuxedo jacket and was wearing a high-quality white dress shirt and trousers, holding a glass of red wine with a low air pressure surrounding him.
He seemed to be in a bad mood.
When did he leave the party?
Olivia wondered for a moment but didn't bother to delve into it.
She took off her high heels and was about to head to her room to check on Bianca.
Usually, Bianca would be asleep by this time, but she wasn't sure if she had been fussy tonight.
Lost in thought, Olivia walked past Michael without looking at him.
Under the light, her makeup was still flawless, and her beautiful dress accentuated her slender waist. She walked with an elegant sway.
Michael's face darkened, his eyes filled with intense anger.
Olivia dared to treat him like air?
He angrily put down his wine glass and stepped forward, grabbing Olivia's wrist.
Olivia hadn't expected this and stumbled, nearly losing her balance.
Startled, she coldly questioned, "What are you doing?"
Her tone was sharp, and her beautiful face took on an aggressive and icy expression.
Michael seemed to be seeing her like this for the first time, his mind wavering. The drunkenness he already felt intensified, and he instinctively reached for Olivia's waist.
Olivia sensed it and reacted quickly, shaking off his hand and pushing him away.
Michael took a step back, his face icy, a sneer on his lips. "Olivia, you don't want me to touch you? Dressed like this, who are you trying to impress, Daniel?"
Olivia's face turned pale. "What does it matter to you?"
"Doesn't matter to me?" Michael was furious, his tone cold as ice. "Olivia, do you remember your status? Dressed like this, hanging out with other men, helping to steal the Johnson Group's business. You're really something!"
Olivia looked like she had heard a joke.
This man could really twist the truth!
She sneered, "Mr. Johnson, if your memory is bad, I can help you recall. You were the one who kicked me out of the Johnson Group! As for hanging out with other men... how dare you accuse others?"
Maybe her sarcasm was too much, and Michael couldn't hold back his anger. He stepped forward and grabbed Olivia, throwing her onto the couch.
Then, Michael leaned in, saying, "Olivia, are you so impatient? I haven't touched you for a while, and you're already running out to find other men?"
As he spoke, he was filled with the essence of alcohol, holding her hands down, trying to kiss her.
Olivia was both shocked and furious, her rejection and disgust boiling over instantly.
She didn't know where she found the strength, but she broke free from his grip and slapped him hard. "Michael, who's the impatient one here? Do you have any shame? Try touching me again, and I'll call the cops!"
She was trembling with anger, mixed with a bit of fear.
The Michael in front of her felt so unfamiliar.
Since she met him, he had always been calm, restrained, and cold.
But now, Michael exuded a terrifying ruthlessness from his very core!
Michael hadn't expected to be slapped. His handsome face turned to the side, the burning pain making him involuntarily use his tongue to touch his cheek.
She dared to hit him?
His eyes turned even colder.
Taking advantage of his distraction, Olivia quickly got up, putting distance between them while fiercely wiping her cheek.
In the chaos, she had turned her head to avoid him. She didn't know if he had touched her.
Thinking that Michael might have kissed Sophia made her feel dirty.
Michael was enraged, his tone icy, "Olivia, you're still my wife. I'm fulfilling my marital duties, and you want to call the cops?"
Olivia looked at him coldly, "Soon, I won't be. Michael, hurry up and sign the divorce papers! Then you can openly pursue Sophia... you two are a perfect match!
If you have needs, you should go to her. After all, it's not the first time you've stayed out all night!"
With that, she turned and quickly went upstairs.
Michael clenched his teeth in anger.
Olivia was so bold!
But somehow, he felt extremely unhappy!
After returning to her room, Olivia immediately went to the bathroom to shower.
She wanted to wash away the essence of alcohol and his presence.
When she finished, it was already late.
She went to check on Bianca.
Bianca was sleeping soundly, her peaceful face adorable and soft, smelling of milk, melting Olivia's heart.
For a moment, Olivia's gloom was dispelled.
She lay down next to Bianca, holding her to sleep.
The next day, she was awakened by a furry little head nudging her.
Opening her eyes, she saw Bianca snuggling like a kitten, seeking affection.
Olivia smiled, holding her soft body, "Good morning, sweetheart."
Bianca smiled sweetly, "Good morning, Mommy..."
Olivia got up with her to wash up and have breakfast.
After eating, Bianca eagerly took her hand, "Mommy... I play harmonica for you..."
Olivia smiled and agreed, "Okay!"
These past few days, she had been practicing the harmonica with Bianca.
Though the progress was slow, Bianca loved it and was deeply immersed in mastering it.
Her communication had also improved, making Olivia happy.
Soon, Olivia took Bianca to the yard to practice.
By noon, Bianca finally managed to play a complete tune.
Olivia listened, stunned for a long time, then couldn't help but tear up.
Her Bianca was really getting better.
She never dared to dream of this before!
Bianca had been looking up, seeking praise, but seeing Olivia's tears, she softly asked, "Mommy... why crying?"
Olivia quickly held back her tears, shaking her head, "No, I'm just very happy. You are amazing, playing so well in such a short time."
Bianca beamed with joy and continued playing for Olivia.
Bianca had no other thoughts, just wanting to keep playing because Olivia liked it.
Olivia was both proud and emotional, thinking of Andrew.
He was truly amazing!
She wondered when Andrew would return to Emerald City!
After some thought, Olivia took out her phone and sent a message to David: [David, sorry to bother you. I have a question for Mr. Hamilton. Can you help me pass it on? If it's inconvenient, no worries!]
David had left a business card when he left, saying she could contact him if needed.
David didn't reply for a long time.
It wasn't until evening that he responded: [Sure, go ahead!]
