Chapter 100 I Only Want You
"No wonder you had me set up a new company earlier; you had this planned all along."
Daniel chuckled. "Is this system better than what the Johnson Group has?"
Olivia thought for a moment. "With the tech they've got now, they're not even close. Unless, Sophia really learned some cutting-edge stuff while she was abroad."
Daniel was doubtful.
Since Sophia came back, she's been more interested in stealing someone else's husband, showing off around town, and acting like she's the queen of the Johnson family.
He seriously doubted she could outdo Olivia.
But he kept his thoughts to himself and switched gears. "Now that we have this advanced system, our team's gonna be way more efficient. Don't worry, I'll keep a close watch on the progress and push to get the product out there as soon as possible."
Olivia stayed calm. "No need to rush. We need stability first. This is new tech, and clinical trials will take time. We have to consider the initial risks. I suggest we start small. Once everything is confirmed, then we can ramp up production."
Daniel nodded confidently. "Of course, I know that. Don't worry. I might not be as good as you in R&D, but when it comes to running a company, I've got more experience."
Olivia agreed.
Daniel ran the entire Wilson Group like clockwork. He didn't need her reminding him about such details.
With that, she pressed a button on her computer. "I'll hand over my results to you. Let's hope our new company can achieve great things."
She raised her fist towards Daniel.
Daniel glanced at her, clearly unimpressed. "Most people shake hands when they collaborate. What's with the fist bump?"
Despite his complaint, Daniel bumped her fist anyway.
Then he added, "Of course, the company will achieve great things. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you some good news. The upgraded version of our old special medicine has successfully produced its first batch. We'll be announcing it soon, and you'll need to attend."
"That fast?" Olivia was a bit surprised.
The old special medicine was something they had developed together years ago.
After returning to 'Miracle,' she had provided an upgrade plan.
And now it was already done?
Daniel explained, "Of course. The production line for the old special medicine was already solid. With the new formula, the speed naturally increased..."
As he spoke, he seemed to remember something. "You haven't visited the production workshop since you came back, have you? I'll take you there next time so you can see why it was so fast. When your new medicine is ready, it'll be the same."
Olivia hadn't visited yet.
With all the family drama and work, she hadn't had the time.
Feeling a bit negligent as a partner, she quickly agreed. "Sure, I'll check it out next time."
Satisfied with her response, Daniel continued discussing business with her.
Later, after finishing their work, they each went their own way.
The news about 'Miracle's special medicine hitting the market soon spread quickly.
Michael, as the head of the Johnson Group, always had his ear to the ground and heard about it immediately.
He frowned.
If he remembered correctly, this brand was the one Olivia and Daniel collaborated on?
Olivia hadn't been there long, and she already had results?
Michael was skeptical but couldn't deny his irritation.
She was always juggling between that so-called 'psychologist' and Daniel. She sure knew how to get the best of both worlds—who knew what kind of tricks she was pulling!
The more he thought about it, the angrier he got. Just then, Sophia walked in to see him.
He seized the moment to question the progress of the R&D department. "It's been ages, and you haven't even developed the first phase of the formula. Are you sure you hired the right people?"
Sophia felt a bit aggrieved at being questioned out of the blue. "We're developing a special medicine, which is a lot harder than regular drugs. Failures are pretty normal..."
Michael frowned, ready to voice his dissatisfaction, but Sophia quickly added, "But we've made new progress with the AI equipment system!"
She spoke quickly. "Lately, I've led the team to overcome a long-standing issue. Once the system upgrade is complete, client orders have increased! That's why I'm here, to share this good news with you!"
"Really?" Michael's frown eased. "Are you serious?"
Sophia's tone softened. "Would I lie to you? Our performance has increased by twenty percent!"
She walked around the desk and stood by Michael's side. "Since I've decided to come back and help you, I won't let you down. The previous delays were because Olivia didn't hand over her work properly. Now that I have full control and have reviewed the R&D department's data, I've found many outdated technical concepts. With the system upgrade, things are completely different now."
As she finished speaking, Sophia's hands were already on Michael's shoulders, gently massaging him. "Michael, you have to believe me. I'm the one who can stand by your side!"
Michael's displeasure vanished, replaced by satisfaction. "Good job, Sophia. You haven't disappointed me!"
He didn't realize that this so-called upgrade was built on the foundation Olivia had laid. And it was only one part of it!
Sophia, hearing the pleasure in his voice, felt a thrill and boldly leaned closer. "So... with such a good performance, do I get a reward?"
She spoke softly, her breath intentionally brushing against his ear.
Michael felt the warmth of her breath and the scent of her perfume, his eyes darkening. "What kind of reward do you want? A purse, jewelry? Or something else?"
Sophia pouted. "I don't want those. You know what I want... it's you!"
With that, she moved onto Michael's lap, the intimate position full of suggestive intent.
Michael's breathing quickened, his hand instinctively tightened around her waist, the pressure making Sophia's heart race with excitement.
It seemed she still had a strong hold on Michael!
If they could just take this further, his attention would shift back to her, and Olivia's influence would fade.
But just then, Michael's expression changed. "My leg... it seems to be acting up."
"What?" Sophia was stunned, her rising desire instantly doused.
She was frustrated.
Why now?
But she couldn't just ignore Michael.
Suppressing her annoyance, Sophia offered, "Let me massage it for you."
She stood up and began to rub his leg.
Michael's frown deepened, his discomfort evident.
Especially when Sophia's efforts didn't ease the pain but made it worse.
"Stop. Massaging won't help. I need medication to control it..."
He instinctively ordered, "Get Robert to call Olivia over to treat me."
Sophia's face froze, her earlier triumph evaporating.
She couldn't believe it.
At this moment, his first thought was Olivia?
Michael realized his mistake as soon as he spoke.
If Olivia were here, he wouldn't be in pain for long.
