The Vampire's Cave
The Vampire's Cave
Elton
Hell! I should have thought she wouldn't be completely alone. I missed the chance to end her and this chase. I was tired of running away.
Now I just wanted to hide and let a few years pass before I reappeared. I was feeling strange. She must have injected me with something. I wouldn't be able to fly to the cave like this, I needed to make a stop. There was a reservation on the way, but it was wolf country. As a last resort, I would have to dig and sleep underground. It was the safest thing to do.The idiots I left guarding the hotel didn't send me any message. Useless! I would kill them when I got back.
I couldn't hunt, my senses were numb. I was weak and it was better to start digging. Maybe tomorrow I would go back to the house. It would be faster and less likely that they would wait for me back there. I started digging, I was slow and dizzy. I would kill her, but first I would be cruel to her. Oh, I would be!
Sabrina
My teammate and I arrived at the place Alpha had sent us. Jef was my friend, even though I was a lycan, I never thought of him in any other way. Although I knew he had feelings for me. I hoped to find my destined companion for the Moon Goddess. I could have company for a night, but not with someone I worked with and who I knew would confuse things.
“Sabrina, he was here a few days ago. He could come back at any time. We need to leave no trace or scent so he feels safe here. We camped nearby, kept an eye on him. We went in in the morning, killed him and left. Quickly and without any major risks.”
“Yes, boss,” I joked.
The cave smelled of bats. We looked around the place. There were things of his hidden there. He would come back at some point, for sure.
We went to find a place nearby so we wouldn’t be seen. We disguised our scent. Our work could wait.
Jef found a small cave, but it looked like a den. We had equipment like radars and sensors that we spread around. We used solar energy to charge our instruments. It was daytime, so we could rest.
I volunteered to hunt. He asked me to stay close by. He was really protective. I transformed and hunted four squirrels and came back. I transformed into a human and got dressed. A little far from our hiding place was a small lake. Jef made a fire and filled our water bottles.
I put the animals to roast. Now it was time to have a good meal, rest and keep watch at night.
Noah
I received information that the lycans had reached the cave and he had not returned yet. They were keeping an eye on it.
Judging by the comments of the people in the cafes, nothing major had happened in the city. The blonde was fine, she must have woken up and thought she was drunk and had gone to the wrong house or had slept with a stranger. I saw her leaving the house early in the morning. There was no strange activity, and the police didn't even come by.
I got the impression that the person who lived there had no friends or family nearby. I managed to investigate the owner and the company where he worked, but it was far away, he worked as a freelancer, a software programmer, and was working from home. They certainly wouldn't miss him any time soon.
I wondered if the vampire would come back there, but it was unlikely, now that he knew we knew his hiding place in the city.
I wanted Rebeca to come home and wait for me, I knew he would never accept that. So, I wanted to create a false trail, something that would separate us, she would go to a safe place without knowing it and I would join the lycans to end the chase.
How I would set this up without her suspecting was my problem.
Rebeca
I woke up alone in the inn and froze. Could Noah have gone hunting alone? He wouldn't do that to me, would he? Goddess! I know I messed up, but I couldn't let another innocent person die. Now that he knew he was close, it would be more dangerous to hunt him.
I followed my companion's scent. He was watching the house where everything happened last night.
"Noah, I know I messed up and I know we lost the element of surprise..."
He hugged me. "Honey, I'm not mad at you. I'm just mad that we missed a great chance. Now I'm here checking the environment. He's not going to come back here, right?"
"Yes, it's obvious. He wouldn't come back to this place he knows we discovered. The blonde might talk too and that would attract the police."
"But I heard from the lycans that he didn't go back to the cave."
I remembered that I managed to inject him with some of the poison. "I put the poison from the ring in the wine glass, but he didn't drink it, but he must be weak, because I managed to release the poison from my necklace into him."
Noah looked at me seriously and said: “Rebeca, he might want to come back to this house if he thinks no one will look for him here. Could you keep an eye out here and call me if he shows up. Without going in there alone? We can’t make a second mistake.”
I sighed. “And you’ll be there Yes, Noah? Are you asking me to leave you far from the action?”
“Honey, if I could, I would really leave you at home. I know it’s impossible. But we have this house and the cave. He’s poisoned, he couldn’t get there. I need to track him from one point to another. If I’m lucky, I’ll finish him off today. I have two lycans in the cave. If you can stay here, just for tonight, I’ll be looking for him. Either you or they’ll let me know if they see him and I’ll go wherever he is. That’s as fast as possible. Although I hate to leave you alone, I think it’s the best thing to do right now.”
