Dawn
Dawn
Rebeca
I was ringing the doorbell and mentally said to Noah. “I love you and I will always love you.” Three minutes later, the door opened.
Evandro Elton looked at me hard, and in seconds, he smiled at me.
“Good evening! Is Igor home?” The vampire thought for two seconds and smiled. “Igor isn’t. I’m Kif, his cousin. We switched houses for this vacation.”
“I’m Valeska. What bad luck I had, I came to visit my sister by surprise, but my car broke down. I got a ride here, but she’s not home… my cell phone is dead… Well, I thought I could spend some time here and come back in the morning. Sorry to bother you. Although seeing such a pretty face was worth it.”
“Do you need something?” He took the bait, I thought. “I don’t want to bother you, but could I use your phone? I’ll try to find out where she is.” “Sure. Come in.” “Oh, thank you. I'm not being an intruder, am I…am I disturbing something?” He closed the door and I felt like I was being too easy. My heart raced. He could sense that. I had to tame my body. ‘Focus, Rebeca.’ It was my wolf Hera, talking to me. For two seconds I closed my eyes. And when I opened them, I was already focused. “I'm sorry, I have arrhythmia. I need to take my medicine. Could you give me a glass of water?” I opened my bag. “Sure! Let's go to the kitchen.” He was friendly. I think it stuck. “Where are you from?” He asked. “I was born in Moscow, but I live in Italy. I study fashion.” “How interesting, I lived in Italy for a while.” He gave me the water, I took a pill. It was the antidote to the poison I was carrying for him, in case I accidentally touched it or was caught and he used it against me. “You are very beautiful. I'll offer you a glass of wine before you leave, if you wish." "I can use your phone and if Katrina doesn't answer, I'll have the wine with you." I simulated a call. I said the number was not answered. He brought the wine and two glasses. No sign of the woman. Noah was asking how things were. I took advantage of his turning his back and answered mentally. "Okay, but I don't see the woman." "Can I go to your bathroom?" I ask to try to smell the human. She must be upstairs. She enters the bathroom with the glass in her hand. I take a small sip. I pour the poison from my ring into the glass. I say to Noah mentally: "No sign of the woman downstairs. I'll see if I can go upstairs with him. Give me 5 minutes if I don't call you. You come in.” I leave the bathroom. I put the glass on the coffee table. Elton is smiling at me. A flashback of him smiling, when we first met, before I knew he was a vampire comes to my mind. My wolf Hera warns me: ‘Be careful, he’s on alert for you.’
“So, should I be disturbing you? I can leave, I appreciate your hospitality.” He smiled. “It was nothing. See you next time.” When I turned to open the door, he took my hand from the door, bringing it to his mouth.
“Or we can have some fun. I'm upstairs with my girlfriend.” He turned me to him. “We really like having company, a beauty like you can brighten up our night.” He stuck his tongue in my mouth and I was disgusted.
“Still delicious, Rebeca!” He laughed. I was shocked for two seconds and grabbed my poisoned comb and stuck it in his head. He slapped me.
“Bitch, did you think a wig and masking your smell would make me forget your face plastered in magazines and billboards?”
He came up to me, I grabbed my necklace with one hand and with the other I grabbed my dagger. He focused on the weapon and I managed to inject the poison liquid into him with the other hand. He held me by the neck, with my dagger against me, when Noah broke down the door.
He threatened to kill me if my Alpha didn't let him through. He went out with me to the garden. He threw me and transformed into a bat, flying away from there. “Damn it!”
Noah ran to me. Physically, I was fine, emotionally devastated. He knew who I was the whole time. Shit!
I rushed in and was so close.
Now it was going to be harder to find him.
We went to see the woman, she was alive! At least we saved a life. She was sleeping. We left her there.
