Ariana’s POV
"Estella!" I called out, my voice filled with hope as I recognized her.
But there was no response. Estella's eyes were empty, devoid of recognition or emotion. She moved towards us like a puppet on strings, her body tense and ready to attack. My joy quickly turned to dread.
"Estella, it's me! It's Ariana!" I pleaded, desperate for some sign that she recognized me.
But there was no mercy in her eyes. She lunged at us, and I had no choice but to defend myself. My instincts as a wolf kicked in, and I fought back, fending off Estella's attacks while trying to keep Seraphina safe on my back.
The battle raged on, and it soon became clear that the Black Moon Clan's wolf people were closing in on us as well. We were outnumbered and surrounded, and the odds were stacked against us. The moon hung high in the night sky, casting an eerie glow on the chaotic scene.
Lucas, always the brave and selfless one, turned to me with a serious expression. "Ariana, I'll draw away the Black Moon Clan's wolf people," he said. "You need to escape with Seraphina. Find safety."
I shook my head, torn between wanting to stay and fight by his side and the desperate need to protect my sister. "But Lucas, I can't leave you here alone!"
He gave me a determined look. "You have to, Ariana. Seraphina's safety is our top priority. I'll catch up with you as soon as I can."
I reluctantly nodded, understanding that he was right. I gently placed Seraphina in a safe spot behind a large tree, sheltered from the ongoing battle. I leaned in close to her and whispered urgently, "Seraphina, there's a Blood Moon Clan signal flare in the house arranged by Beta Marcus. If you launch it, the Blood Moon Clan's wolf people will sense the signal and come to our aid. You must complete this mission, okay?"
Seraphina nodded weakly, her eyes filled with determination despite her pain. "I'll do it, Ariana. You and Lucas, stay safe."
With one last glance at my sister, I turned to join the fray, my silver fur bristling with energy. Lucas had already engaged with Rennes, who had transformed into a menacing black wolf. They clashed fiercely, their growls and snarls filling the night air.
I knew I had to fight alongside Lucas and buy Seraphina enough time to complete her mission. The battle raged on, and I fought with every ounce of strength in my body. Claws clashed, teeth snapped, and fur flew as the two clans clashed in a deadly dance.
As the minutes turned into what felt like hours, I couldn't help but worry about Seraphina's safety. The mission was crucial, and her condition was deteriorating. I fought harder, my focus unwavering, but the odds were still against us.
The woods around us were alive with the frenetic energy of battle. The clash of fangs and claws, the snarls, and the yelps filled the night air as we fought against the encroaching darkness that was the Black Moon Clan. My heart pounded with fear and desperation as I watched Lucas, being surrounded by the formidable forces of Rennes and his pack.
Lucas's face was a mask of grim determination as he faced off against Rennes, the Black Moon Clan's ruthless leader. It was a showdown of titanic proportions, two alphas locked in a deadly dance. But Rennes was too powerful, and I could see the desperation in Lucas's eyes as he fought to hold his own.
I tried to break through the ranks of the Black Moon Clan's wolf people to reach him, but the battle was a swirling chaos of fur and fury. I couldn't get close enough to make a difference. My heart ached as I watched Lucas struggle, and I knew that I had to do something to help him.
Then, in a desperate bid for survival, I saw Lucas release the sealed power of the Red Wolf. His transformation was swift and terrifying. His eyes, once a deep and reassuring brown, turned blood-red, and his fur erupted into flames of crimson. The power of the Red Wolf coursed through his veins, turning him into a force of nature.
But with this newfound power came a terrible cost. Lucas lost consciousness, and in his place stood an immensely powerful and bloodthirsty Red Wolf. His jaws snapped and his claws tore through the ranks of the Black Moon Clan's wolf people like a hurricane of destruction.
"Lucas!" I cried out, my voice filled with equal parts fear and relief. He was fighting back, but at what price? I knew that we couldn't afford to lose him to the darkness of the Red Wolf's power.
As I watched Lucas unleash his newfound strength, I couldn't help but think back to our journey. We had faced so many challenges together, and our bond had grown stronger with each trial. Now, in our darkest hour, I couldn't stand by and watch him succumb to the Red Wolf's bloodlust.
I focused my energy, summoning the magic within me, and created a protective barrier around myself. It was the only way I could defend myself without harming the infected wolf people from the Silver Moon Clan. My heart ached at the thought of hurting them, even in self-defense.
The battle raged on around me, and I watched as Lucas tore through the Black Moon Clan's wolf people with terrifying efficiency. His power was awe-inspiring, but it was also uncontrollable. He was a force of nature, a whirlwind of destruction, and I feared that he would lose himself completely to the Red Wolf's primal instincts.
I needed to find a way to help him, to bring him back from the brink of darkness. But how could I do that when I was surrounded by chaos and danger on all sides?
Then, a memory from my childhood surfaced in my mind. My father had once told me stories of Silver Moon Wolves, individuals chosen by the Moon Goddess herself. They possessed a unique gift – the ability to command all the Silver Wolves. It was a power born of the moon's magic, and it was said to be the ultimate bond between wolf and human.
With a deep breath, I closed my eyes and began to concentrate, reaching deep within myself to find the connection to the wolf within me. It was a part of my soul, an ancient and powerful presence that had been dormant until now.
