Ariana’s POV
As the tension reached its peak, Rennes whistled, and a horde of Black Moon Clan werewolves, all affected by the wolf's venom, closed in on us. The cell became a chaotic battleground as Lucas transformed into a massive red wolf to defend us, outnumbered ten to one.
I, too, called upon my magic, the energy within me surging as I defended against and attacked our enemies. My powers crackled in the air as I conjured protective barriers and sent bolts of energy toward the encroaching werewolves. My primary concern was keeping Seraphina safe, and I would do whatever it took to ensure her survival.
The battle was fierce and unrelenting. Lucas's red wolf form was a formidable force, his powerful jaws and razor-sharp claws tearing through the ranks of Black Moon Clan werewolves. But they kept coming, their relentless attacks testing his strength and endurance.
Seraphina, her fury undiminished by Rennes's betrayal, fought with a ferocity that was awe-inspiring. She unleashed her wolf's spirit, her eyes blazing with an inner fire, as she tore into her enemies, refusing to yield to despair.
"Rennes, I'll wager my life, burning the last shreds of my wolf soul, at any cost, to make you suffer for deceiving me!"
“Seraphina!”
I watched over them both, my heart filled with a mixture of fear and determination. The odds were stacked against us, but we couldn't afford to lose this battle. The Black Moon Clan was a formidable enemy, and Rennes, with his newfound power, was a force to be reckoned with.
As the battle raged on, I couldn't help but think back to the Rennes I had once known. He had been kind, gentle, and loving, but now he was a ruthless Alpha who had lost his way. What had driven him to this point?
But there was no time for such thoughts in the midst of the chaos. I had to focus on the here and now, on protecting my sister and the man I loved. With every surge of magic, every barrier I conjured, I fought to ensure our survival.
The cell echoed with the sounds of snarls, growls, and the clash of teeth and claws. Blood stained the floor as the battle raged on, and the air was thick with the scent of sweat and fear. It was a brutal and unforgiving fight, and I knew that we couldn't hold out forever.
Seraphina, her strength waning, turned to me with desperation in her eyes. "Ariana," she cried, "we can't keep this up. There are too many of them."
I nodded, my heart heavy with the truth of her words. "We need a way out," I replied, my voice determined. "Lucas, can you hold them off for a little longer?"
Lucas, his red wolf form covered in cuts and bruises, nodded grimly. "I'll do my best," he growled, his eyes blazing with determination.
I turned to Seraphina, a plan forming in my mind. "We'll create a distraction," I said. "I'll use my magic to create a blinding light. When the Black Moon Clan members are disoriented, we make our escape."
Seraphina nodded, her eyes filled with resolve. "Let's do it," she said.
With that, I summoned the power within me, channeling it into a blinding burst of light that filled the cell. The Black Moon Clan werewolves cried out in surprise and pain, their vision temporarily impaired.
Seizing the opportunity, Lucas lunged forward, his massive form a whirlwind of fur and fury as he fought to clear a path for us. Seraphina and I followed closely behind, moving quickly and silently through the chaos.
As we walked through the dense woods, the tension in the air was palpable. The border of the Black Moon Clan was just ahead, and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. Beside me, Lucas walked with determination etched into his features. We were on a mission, and we couldn't afford to fail.
But then, just as we were nearing our destination, Seraphina, who had been walking with us in her wolf form, suddenly collapsed. I gasped as I saw blood spewing from her mouth, staining her silvery fur crimson. She trembled and groaned, and I knelt down beside her in a panic.
"Seraphina! What's happening?" I cried out, my voice filled with worry.
She struggled to maintain her wolf form, her golden eyes filled with pain. "I can feel it, sis," she whispered weakly. "My wolf side... it's disappearing."
Tears welled up in my eyes as I watched my sister transform back into her human form. Her beautiful silver fur faded away, leaving her naked and vulnerable in the cold night air. I held her in my arms, feeling the deep sorrow welling up inside me. Seraphina and I were both wolf people, descendants of the Silver Moon Clan, and our wolf forms were a vital part of our identity.
" Rennes gave me the Alchemist's Spirit-Slaying Water to drink as an experiment..." Seraphina gasped, her voice trembling. "I can't stay like this. I can't be a wolf anymore."
I clenched my fists, my heart heavy with grief, but there was no time to dwell on our loss. Seraphina's condition was dire, and I had to act quickly. With a determined resolve, I transformed into my silver wolf form, my fur glistening in the moonlight. Carefully, I placed Seraphina on my back, cradling her as I prepared to carry her to safety.
We moved as swiftly as we could, my paws hitting the forest floor in quick succession. I knew that the Black Moon Clan was hot on our heels, and we needed to put as much distance between us and them as possible.
But just as we began to hope that we were escaping the danger, a group of silver wolves emerged from the shadows in front of us. My heart leaped with a mix of relief and confusion. These wolves were the long-lost members of the Silver Moon Clan, who had disappeared many years ago. Among them, I spotted a familiar face – Estella, a dear friend I thought I'd never see again.
