Chapter 146: Likes Her Relying on Him

Chapter 146 Likes Her Relying on Him

Grace covered herself with the blanket, shaking her head, too shy to speak.

He could clearly see she was embarrassed.

Or maybe... she'd figured out his intentions!

After all, last night he'd had her join him for a bath, and he naturally wouldn't miss any opportunity to have his way with her completely. She was exhausted from his ministrations, and scared too.

His stamina was remarkable—yesterday, if she hadn't begged for mercy, he wouldn't have let her off so easily.

Now, after resting all night, his energy had returned, and who knows...

The more Grace thought about it, the more her face burned.

The next second, he bent down and scooped her into his arms, his husky voice rumbling above her head, "You don't get a choice."

Grace instinctively struggled.

"Alexander!"

"Don't fight it."

Grace was speechless—who exactly was the one causing trouble here?

She'd originally planned to quickly get dressed while he was showering, but he wouldn't even give her that chance.

Alexander carried her into the bathroom.

He placed her in the bathtub, and she curled up into a small ball, mortified beyond words.

Alexander said matter-of-factly, "What part of you haven't I seen?"

Her attempt at modesty only made him want to tease her even more.

Grace protested, "Could you... stop talking like that?"

Alexander replied unapologetically, "Just stating facts."

Water gradually filled the entire bathtub.

The tub was spacious enough for two with room to spare.

While he'd recovered, she felt completely drained. Men and women simply couldn't compare when it came to stamina—she felt like her whole body was falling apart, sore and aching all over. Looking at the man sitting across from her, refreshed and energetic, she could only blame herself for being so weak.

Compared to her shyness, he seemed completely at ease, relaxed and composed.

Seeing her submerged in the water with only her shoulders and above visible, he raised an eyebrow and suddenly crooked his finger at her. "Come here."

Grace shook her head. "I don't want to..."

Alexander said smoothly, "I won't touch you."

Grace's face turned even redder. She eyed Alexander suspiciously, not quite believing him. "Really?"

Alexander said with apparent sincerity, "I'll help you with the body wash." He made a show of picking up the bath sponge nearby and squeezing some body wash onto it.

Figuring she couldn't lift her arms or reach her back.

Grace laughed despite herself. "You're really that considerate?"

Half worried, half hopeful, she swam over toward Alexander.

The next second, the man grabbed her hand and pulled her into his arms, his playful voice whispering in her ear, "Just kidding!"

Grace realized she'd been tricked and tried to escape, but it was too late.

Since she'd delivered herself to him, how could he possibly be merciful enough to give her a chance to back out?

When she tried to retreat, his strong arms had already locked her tightly in his embrace. His large hand pinched her waist, and since she was ticklish, her body went soft and she fell completely into his arms.

Alexander leaned down and sealed her lips, not even leaving her a chance to plead for mercy!

After the bath...

Alexander carried her back to bed. Grace wrapped herself tightly in the blanket and muttered, "Where are my clothes?"

"They seem to have gotten torn."

"Torn?" Grace's eyes widened. Seeing the man's completely unapologetic expression, she stammered, "If my clothes are ruined, what am I supposed to wear?"

Alexander said casually, "I'll have someone send over a new outfit."

Grace asked, "How long will that take?"

Alexander raised an eyebrow. "Are you in a hurry?"

Grace nodded. "Yes... I'm anxious to go back."

Being away all night, she was worried Max and Liam might be concerned.

Alexander said, "It's fine if we don't go back tonight. If you're tired, we can stay another night."

Grace quickly said, "This isn't about whether I'm tired or not! I'm worried Max and Liam will be concerned."

Alexander said, "I'll go back for a bit. I'll handle the two kids."

Grace paused, then didn't insist. She really had been thoroughly worn out, so she lay back down on the bed.

"So... will you come back after you go home?" she suddenly asked.

Alexander asked, "Do you want me to come back?"

"Mm..." Grace nodded. "It feels weird staying here by myself!"

Alexander smiled. "If you want me to come back, I'll come back." In truth, how could he possibly leave her here alone?

He just liked the feeling of being needed by her.

Liam depended on him too.

But she and Liam were different.

Being needed by her made his heart feel full to bursting, filled with a sense of completeness.

"By the way..." Grace remembered something. "I recognized that nurse. Can you help me look into her? Her name is Jenny."

Alexander also had a copy of the files.

There was no duplicate of that name, so giving him the name was enough.

Alexander said, "You went to Henry yesterday for this matter?"

Grace said, "Maybe I was too impatient... I thought, since he's in the medical system, he'd be able to find out quickly."

Alexander's tone grew somewhat cold—perhaps mentioning Henry still triggered some hostility. "Anything he can find out, I can find out faster." He sat on the edge of the bed, reaching out to gently caress her cheek. "You could trust me a little more."

Grace nodded. "I won't do that again next time..." Thinking about yesterday's events, she still felt shaken.

She wondered how Henry's injuries were.

She was somewhat worried, but didn't dare ask in front of Alexander. She figured since Jeremy had stayed behind, nothing serious must have happened, or he would have definitely reported it to Alexander.

Alexander seemed to read her thoughts and said, "He'll be fine. I know how to control my strength. He just couldn't stand up at the time—at most a couple broken ribs."

Grace was a bit stunned. Did he have mind-reading abilities? He always seemed to see through her thoughts.

His words also alarmed her somewhat. She asked in shock, "That's not serious?"

Alexander said, "I've had my ribs broken several times. It's not that serious."

At least, not for him.

He figured Henry wasn't that delicate either.

Seeing him unable to stand, perhaps his ribs were broken, but this was his territorial instinct at work—invade his territory, and he'd beat you until you submit, so there wouldn't be a next time.

Soon, new clothes were delivered.

Alexander changed and prepared to leave. Besides going to the office, he needed to go home to reassure the two children before returning to the hotel.

He reluctantly kissed her forehead. "If you're tired, rest some more. Your stamina is terrible—clearly you don't exercise enough normally."

She had no response to that comment.

Alexander got up and had just reached the door when he called Jeremy, "How is he?"
