Chapter 144 Urgent as a Spark, No Time to Lose
Grace was truly dizzy from Alexander's kisses.
Unlike him, who seemed to possess an astonishing natural talent in this area, she had never been intimately close with any man, let alone engaged in such passionate kissing. She was somewhat intimidated by it all. Looking at the situation, if she stubbornly refused to speak out of spite, who knew how long he would persist in tormenting her.
Or perhaps he was hoping she wouldn't say it, so he could take advantage and bully her even more.
Grace greedily breathed in a few gulps of fresh air, her lips slowly parting to whisper, "I... I just said, I don't like Henry. The person I like... is... is you..."
He rewarded her with a kiss on her lips, raising an eyebrow. Clearly, these few simple words were nowhere near enough to satisfy his appetite.
"And?"
Grace decided to lay it all out, "Don't misunderstand... I'm afraid you'll misunderstand. Henry and I... we're not what you think."
Alexander asked, "Then what are you?"
Grace replied, "He was my senior in college. I once had a crush on him... but now, we're just ordinary friends."
"A crush?" Upon hearing this word, his brow furrowed almost imperceptibly. "So you liked him?"
"That was in the past! Not anymore."
His gaze fell on her lips, his fingertips slowly caressing and rubbing them repeatedly as he asked, "Did he touch here?"
"No..."
Alexander then took her hand, "Did he touch here?"
He had a bit of a possessive streak - once he claimed someone as his, he didn't like others touching them even slightly.
Grace answered, "Yes... he did."
She had one trait: she wouldn't lie, nor was she good at it.
Henry had touched her hand, and she couldn't hide it.
Alexander lowered his head and kissed her hand heavily—the back of her hand, each finger, even her fingertips. He kissed them all one by one, as if trying to cover every spot the other man had touched with his own mark.
From her angle, she could see him with his head bowed, kissing so earnestly and tenderly. His thick lashes made his eyes appear even more profound.
Just moments ago, for a brief instant, he had been jealous— jealous to the point of madness, yet forcing himself to restrain it, nearly losing control completely.
If not for her timely words that soothed his heart.
Alexander demanded, "The person you like is me."
This was a statement, not a question, and it also demonstrated just how domineering this man was - such a declaration brooked no argument from her.
"Mm..."
"How much do you like me?" Alexander's fingertip gently caressed her cheek. "Do you want me?"
This question made her blush furiously, not knowing how to respond!
"Hmm?" Seeing her lower her eyes bashfully, unable to even look at him once, her pale face tinged with pink, Alexander knew she must be shy.
He was accustomed to seeing her fierce and defiant side, but had never seen her shy before. She was utterly adorable like this.
"Grace, you're mine." He suddenly uttered a declaration, then kissed her again.
With nowhere to retreat, she was forced to endure his possessive kiss. Her body couldn't support itself and began to sink, but his arm suddenly wrapped powerfully around her waist. With one hand, he lifted her body against the car door, kissing her even more unrestrained.
Grace initially kept her eyes open, not daring to close them. Alexander's handsome face was right before her, his eyes half-closed, his long thick lashes brushing against her eyelids - tickling, silently stirring her heart.
As the kiss deepened, his embrace became increasingly domineering and forceful. At first, he was still considerate of her, afraid of hurting her, but gradually he kissed with less control, wishing he could pull her into his arms and merge her into one with him.
His embrace became somewhat scorching.
The scent of masculine hormones surrounded her completely, and her body took on the fragrance of his cologne.
Gradually, she didn't seem so afraid anymore.
Grace was also swept away by the kiss, tremblingly and tentatively hooking her arms around his shoulders, closing her eyes.
She could feel his body becoming increasingly burning hot. Through his shirt, she could sense his powerful heartbeat, his well-distributed muscles strong and defined. Compared to him, she seemed so small, so insignificant.
Alexander suddenly left her lips.
He didn't want to do this here.
Cars were coming and going - he could only restrain his instinct to misbehave.
"Get in the car."
His voice was calm yet carried a hint of urgency.
The man opened the car door, placed her in the passenger seat, bent down to fasten her seatbelt, and couldn't help kissing her again.
Grace wanted to laugh but found it both amusing and exasperating. She had never seen this kind of impatience from him before.
He seemed like he was about to do something incredibly important - urgent as a house fire, brooking no delay - yet maintaining that calm, serious appearance. It was rather endearing.
"Mmm..."
Her mouth was almost dry from being kissed. Such intimate sharing of breath - he seemed reluctant to part from her even for a moment.
"You... drive quickly..." As soon as she spoke, her face reddened.
Saying this made it sound like she was even more eager than him.
He wouldn't misunderstand, would he?
Sure enough...
Grace looked up to see his eyes tinged with teasing amusement - he had indeed misunderstood. "You're more eager than I am?"
"I... I am not!" Grace said somewhat petulantly, "Don't talk nonsense."
"Mm."
Alexander kissed her forehead, then returned to the driver's seat. With a press of the gas, reverse, turn - smooth and fluid, all in one motion.
The car sped down the mountain.
Sitting in the car, Grace felt somewhat nervous, her heart itching and tingling as if thousands of ants were biting it. Her fingers unconsciously touched her lips where he had kissed - they were swollen and flushed.
At the intersection, traffic lights.
Ninety seconds of rush hour congestion.
Alexander's breathing became slightly rapid.
Grace glanced in his direction - the veins on the back of his hands were prominent, his grip on the steering wheel so tense.
Alexander suddenly pressed a button, and except for the windshield, all windows lowered their sun shades.
He said in a low voice, "Come here."
Grace turned her head, and Alexander's long fingers grasped her chin, kissing her small mouth as if addicted.
During the long red light, he seemed unable to wait even one more second.
Grace pushed him gently, "Can you drive properly?"
Alexander said, "We're almost there."
Grace looked out the window - they were still quite far from Radiant Pinnacle.
"We still have over half an hour to get home." He was driving a car, not a rocket - how could they be almost there?
Alexander smiled knowingly.
At this critical moment, taking her home—how could he handle his business properly?
With two children bouncing around at home, he wouldn't give them the chance to interfere with his important matters.
