Chapter 21: Meet my family
Jayden arrived at Monalisa's house to pick her up. He had informed her that he was taking her somewhere, however, he didn't inform her of where he was taking her to. Tricia welcomed Jayden in and offered him a seat. While Jayden had his seat, Tricia left for Monaisa's room to inform her of Jayden's arrival.
Monalisa was finishing up with her make up when Tricia walked in.
''Wow girl, you look so beautiful. Your beauty is actually breathtaking. Trust me girl, your man is gonna melt at your sight, that is, if he doesn't gets short of breath and pass out'' Tricia complimented Monalisa.
''Aww, that's so sweet of you girl. I appreciate. So tell me. Why are you here in my room?
''Uhmm, I almost forgot, thanks to your beauty. Jayden is here''
''What? He's here already? Oh my goodness. I'm not ready yet''
''So what do you want from me? I could help you. Always at your service''
''Can you help me by serving him some snacks. I'll join him in a few minutes''
''Sure. Hold up, where exactly is your man taking you? Paris? France? Oh, Paris is in it. Maldives? Oh my goodness. Tell me, I'm bad at guessing''
''I do not know. he didn't tell me, so go serve him some snacks before he gets bored''
''Ay ay captin''
Tricia quickly left for the kitchen where she grabbed some snacks and drink and returned to Jayden at the living room.
''No thank you. I won't be having any if these. I'm gonna wait for Monalisa''
''I do not think she'll be ready anytime soon. Meanwhile, she told me that you had engaged her. Congratulations on your engagement''
''she needs more of that congratulations than I do''
''are you saying that you do not need the congratulations?
Never said so. I just said that...''
Jayden stopped talking as Monalisa just stepped into the living room, looking gorgeous in the blue gown.
Jayden slowly got on his feet and a satisfaction smile appeared on his face.
''Wow! Monalisa, you look so gorgeous. You look not just beautiful, I must confess, you took my breath away the moment you stepped in. wow! I'm so damn lucky to have gotten myself not just an intelligent, hardworking lady but a beauty goddess''
Jayden took a few steps closer to her and touched her face. He immediately pulled her in with his other hand.
''You look amazing, my flavour'' he placed a kiss on her forehead and her two cheeks, leaving Monalisa blushing.
Tricia who had looked away the moment he kissed Monalisa, made a cough sound.
''Save some for wherever you two are going to''
Monalisa giggled.
''That's right. We are actually going somewhere very important. We should get going babe'' he stretched out his hand to Monalisa, signalling her to place her hand in his palms, which she did.
''take care Tricia'' monalisa said.
Jayden led her to his car and opened the door for her to get in.
Minutes later, they were on the road. Monalisa was quite tensed as she had no idea where he was taking her.
Jayden turned to her and noticed her wearing a long face and tried cheering her up which failed as he refused to tell her where he was taking her to.
Minutes later they drove into a huge compound having a massive palace like mansion.
Jayden parked the car and turned off the ignition. He turned to monalisa with a smile on his face and said ''We are here finally''
Monalisa looked out of the window and tried to process what was going on. She turned back to jayden and found him gone. Her door opened and Jayden stood before.
''You may come out miss Monalisa''
''Thank you, Jayden. But where are we?
''Welcome to the BRUNO MANSION''
''Bruno what? what is that? Some five star hotel or resort?
''My home''
''Your home? This is your....''
''Home. My parents house, and yes, I brought you here today to officially introduce you to my parents''
''What! without informing me first? I'm not ready. I'm leaving. Where are we? What estate is this?
''Our estate. Look, I get it. You are mad at me. I should have informed you but babe, I just wanted it to be a surprise. You have always wanted to meet my parents and now is a perfect time to meet them''
''But I am not ready Jayden! I've got no gifts to give them and look at the way I am dressed''
''And what's wrong with your outfit?
''Everything. I dressed up thinking that we are going on a date. Come on Jayden, I have longed for this day...not like this''
''For the gifts, I got it covered''
''What?
''Remember the day I asked you a question of what sort of gifts would you get for my parents and you told me. I noted it down and I got those gifts...no, you got them the gifts through me, no, you got them the gifts , all I did was to pick it up from your imagination and bring them down to reality. One minute''
Jayden quickly grabbed the gift bags from the car and handed some of the bags to Monalisa.
''So shall we head inside right now?
"Sure"
"And my flavour is missing something"
"What?
"Your smile. Can you please put on your beautiful smile on your beautiful face cause your face looks nothing like my flavour's face'
"Fine I will. Happy?
"Yes. One more thing "
"What now?
Jayden pulled her closer and placed a kiss on her forehead.
"So can we go meet your parents now?
"Yes love"
Jayden held Monalisa's hand and both made their way into the main building.
The maids welcomed them in.
"Where's everyone? Dad and mum? Jayden asked one of the maids.
"At the field sir" replied the maid
"Oh, so that's where we're having lunch. Shall we"
"Hold up. I'm quite nervous right now. Tell me, how do I look? My dress, my make up. Does it scream so much?
"Do clothes scream?
"Is it loud?.
"If it screams then I definitely don't hear anything called scream coming from that cloth babe"
Monalisa giggled hitting Jayden's hand.
"Sorry" she mouthed.
"It's okay baby. As long as you are happy. Let's go meet the Bruno's"
Jayden and Monalisa left for the field.
They walked into the field, we'll set with the table and seats and pretty decorations, few persons seated some running around.
"Hello everyone" Jayden said waving at everyone and leaned back at Monalisa. "Do not be scared and follow my lead"
"I'm not. We ain't ina fake relationship for us to be scared of getting caught Jayden".
"Right. "
"And is that my boy Jayden! Jeffrey,Jayden's dad asked
"Yes dad" Jayden rushed over to his dad and gave him a warm hug.
His mum hugged him too.
"My dearest son. I've missed you so much. You're so mean. No calls, no text, no visitations. So bad of you"
"My bad. But I'm so busy "
"Same excuses "
"So, why did it take you so long to get here son? Jeffery asked.
"Long? How?
"Another question, why are you so ungentlemanly to abandon such gorgeous lady there, she's standing alone "
"My bad. One minute "
Jayden rushed back to Monalisa.
"I'm so fucking sorry for leaving you behind. Come, I'll make proper introduction"
"Okay "
Jayden held her hand and took her to meet his parents.
"I've got an important announcement to make everyone. Everyone, meet my fiancee, Monalisa!
Everyone gasped in shock and disbelief.
