Chapter 22: warm reception
Sophie dropped the glass of juice she had and let out a scream.
"Uncle you are dating miss Monalisa? Sophie asked.
"What? you know her? Andrea asked.
"Yes mum. She's my teacher. She's such a nice lady"
"So how come all these? Jayden, is there something you are not telling not? Andrea asked.
"Okay calm down everyone. Let's take a seat. My Flavour has been standing for a while " Jayden said pulling out a chair for Monalisa to have her seat"
"Jayden dear, why don't you tell us the truth" Beatrice, Jayden's mum said.
"What truth mum? This is the truth. Monalisa is my fiancee"
"How! How is she your fiancée when we had no idea that you were dating"
"Mum, please do sit. We'll discuss this over the meal"
"Beatrice, let him be. Jayden, do sit, and everyone, please come have your seat and let's have lunch"

Monalisa touched Jayden's hand.
"I'm nervous " she mouthed to him.
"It's okay."
The maids began to serve everyone their meal. They finished up and stood behind the Bruno's.
Jeffery stopped eating and broke the silence.
"So Jayden. you claim she is your fiancée? How come we never knew anything about her?
"Oh, I decided to keep it a low key until I made something reasonable out of our relationship"
"Really? How long have you two known each other? Jeffery picked up a glass of wine and drank from it.
"A few months. We've known each other for a few months and dated for a few months before I popped the marriage question "
"Few months? How many months did you two date?
"Uh, almost two months. Right babe"
"Barely two months? Beatrice exclaimed.
"Beatrice, please... You two have dated for two months? How sure are you that she's the right one?
"Dad, I'm 102% sure. I haven't felt this way before with anyone. I love Monalisa so much and I can not wait to wife her up and have her ..." he held her hand, holding an eye contact with her. "As my woman " he smiled at her.
"How did you two meet?
"Well dad, we met at a restaurant. Actually it was love at first sight for me. I had no idea she was Sophie's teacher. I got to find out when I had visited Sophie's school for some parent kids competition. Thanks to Andrea and Williams for not showing up. it was destiny playing it's role in our lives"
"Very well then. You have my full support and I bless your union".

"How sure are you that this guy is the right one for you? Because I know my son. He's quite a rascal you know "
Monalisa giggled.
"My apologies sir. Actually, I know that he's the right one and Jayden is not a rascal actually, he's the best guy and greenest flag sir"
"Are you sure you won't regret being with him?
"I'm very sure sir that I won't regret it and I do not regret saying yes to be his wife because I love him so much"
"Or you love his wealth? Come on everyone. How can we just accept this girl? Jayden, do you know anything about her? About her parents? Who are her parents? Where do they live? What do they do for a living? Her siblings? Any siblings?
"Mum, please. I know enough to put a ring on her beautiful finger"
"Congratulations auntie" Sophie rushed over to Monalisa, gave her a hug and placed a kiss on her cheek. "Congratulations. You know what? I've always known that this day would come but when, I had no idea. I knew that uncle loved you. He told me about your feelings"
"Really and you didn't let me know "
"It was a secret. So, you're going to be my second mother "
"And I'm your big sister " Andrea said hugging Monalisa. "Congratulations and thank you for changing this rascal. Are sure about your decision Monalisa?
"Yes, I am"
"Hey Casanova, listen up. Don't you dare hurt her feelings otherwise, I'm going to deal with you because from now onwards, I'm Monalisa's big sister. "
"And I'm your big brother" William added while he approached them. "Welcome to the family"
"Thank you everyone for the kind reception"
"Excuse me" Beatrice angrily left the field.
"One minute guys" Jayden wiped his mouth and went after his mum.
he was fast to catch up with her in the living room.
"Isn't it rather rude to walk out on a family gathering? What's your problem? Have you met her before? So why are you being hostile towards Monalisa?
"I'm not being hostile. I am just looking out for you dear"
"Don't do it. I can take good care of myself. I love Monalisa and I will marry her"

"Now, you'll go give her a hug and welcome her officially"
"I will. But let me get dessert ".
"We've got maids to do that. Come with me"
Jayden dragged his mum back to the field.
"Go ahead mum. She's staring at you ".
"Monalisa..., I hope you do not hurt him. Welcome to the family ".

"Happy now? I'll go get dessert "
Few minutes later, desert was served.
While having dessert, Jayden mistakenly knocked over a glass of wine which dropped on Monalisa's body.
Jayden apologized immediately and insisted he takes her to clean up properly.
Jayden and Monalisa left for his room to clean up.
Monalisa requested him to wait outside while she goes into the bathroom to clean up.
Jayden refused to do so and went in with her.
He grabbed a napkin and dipped it in a water. He went on his knees and began to clean up the wine stench.
Jayden paused for a while, as his hand began to feel her laps. He kissed her laps and his hands began to move slowly under her gown.
Monalisa quickly stopped him from going any further.
"Please, we have everyone waiting for us downstairs"
"Let them wait. It's our moment, let's have it"

"Crazy sis. Well, everyone, Monalisa and I would love to head home now"
"I object to that . in fact, I object to everyone going home" Jeffery said.
"Why dad?
"Everyone is sleeping over and we'll be having a little get together and family reunion. What do you think?
"Sounds like fun dad" Andrea said clapping.
"I've got nothing to wear" Monalisa whispered to Jayden.
