Chapter 72 Reunited
It has been two months since she left the mansion. No matter how Thyago keep on trying to talk and beg her to come back, she never listened. She had been hurt enough and she couldn't bear the pain anymore. She finally realized that it was never easy loving a Thyago Williams. She always finds herself being hurt and shattered in the end. Yes, she loves him so much, perhaps never stop loving him ever since but this time, she has to learn to love herself and do what she believes is right. She had made up her mind, she has to end things between them before she lose herself and her dignity.
Her father talked to her to think about her decisions. He even advised her to give Thyago a second chance but she never listened. Even Hannah talked to her one time and advised her to not give up on her marriage and think about her child. She decided to tell Hannah the reason why she left and when she found about what happened, she got mad at Elena. To her surprise, it didn't cross in her mind that she'll immediately talk and confront her cousin. They had a huge fight and they came to a point where Hannah intentionally slapped and hurt Elena physically. She never thought Hannah will do such drastic actions like that. Hannah care about her so much more than like a real sister and it was common for her to always want to protect her from anyone who hurt her. Even on her part, she will do the same with Hannah but not in the way she did where she made some drastic things like hurting Elena. She has to admit she once became harsh and physical to Elena but she regrets that already. Although she deserves it, she realized getting physical and stooping her level will only make her worst and pathetic. Although Hannah shouldn't have to do such things, she does appreciate it and knew she was indeed lucky to have a friend like her.
Although she still cries at night and always finds herself thinking about Thyago and what might be the future of her baby. How she missed and love him still but then, thinking about what he had done made her hate him. It has been two months when she left the mansion. She tried reversing her mind in some Interior design ideas, hanging out often with Hannah, and even doing some gardening stuff just to keep herself busy every time she gets alone so he can't think of Thyago. It has been a habit for her to arrange flowers and do some gardening stuff these past few days. She doesn't work in the office anymore and decided to temporarily take her work at home. She had an early maternity leave in preparation for giving birth to her baby. She decided to leave the supervision of her firm to her trusted staff that report to her often because she was advised by her doctor to avoid stress and do some simple chores as a form of exercise. Gardening, flower arranging, cooking, and shopping for the baby with Hannah is what she bothered herself in the past few days.
There are times she thought of Thyago and how badly she misses him and with those times, she always finds herself crying as she remembers all the sweet and happy memories they shared during their marriage. There are nights she's having nightmares and then she'll wake up searching for him on the other side of the bed. God knows how she longed for his touch and kisses but she knew she have to resist herself for doing so. It will never change the fact that he had hurt her deeply. She had decided to give up on their marriage to stop themselves from hurting each other because it's the best for them.
"Sunshine..." Her attention got caught from thinking when her father suddenly called her. She was at the patio arranging some flowers on the vase that early morning.
When her eyes went to him, she was stunned when she suddenly saw Erlinda Stanford beside him. She gave her father a questioning look and as a response, her father just gave her a warm smile and said:
"Your Mom wants to talk to you..."
"Dad?" Staring irritatingly at her father she gave him a sign that she don't wanna talk to the woman.
"Come on Sunshine, give it a chance..." Her Dad nodded gently as if telling her to open her heart for the woman and give her a chance to explain.
How could she say no to her beloved Daddy? She respects her father so much enough to grant that simple wish of him. Actually, he had been convincing her to talk to the woman for quite a long time now and she guessed it was the time to listen and talk to her. With that, she frustratedly nods. She decided to talk to the woman for her father's sake, only because her father asked for it. This talk has been long overdue, she thought. It's time for her to face and stop avoiding her.
Her father decided to leave and give them a chance to talk. A moment of silence occurred between them and then all of a sudden, the woman decided to gently come closer as if she was watching what might be her reaction.
"Your tummy is a whole lot bigger now than the last time I saw you. I can't believe you are going to be a Mom now." She heard her say.
" Yeah right! How will you supposed to know when you weren't there all through my life?" She wanted to reply to those words but instead, she chose to remain silent.
"What's the gender of the baby? Hope you don't mind my asking." The old woman gently asked.
"A boy." She answered shortly.
She heard him heave out a long sigh and she could see from the corner of her eyes that she was closely staring at her.
"When I gave birth to you, you were so cute and adorable. I remember when I first held you in my arms, you just smiled all of a sudden like you knew I was the one holding you. That moment, the pain and hardship I felt through giving birth to you suddenly vanished. You were so tiny in my arms and you always want to be held by me. You always cry a lot but then you only stop when I cuddle you in my arms and feed you." She still went silent but deep inside her, her heart was touched hearing that story.
It was something like a warm hand that hugged her heart in a soothing feeling. Strange but her irritation or hate was gone for a moment after hearing the words she said. A part of her wanting to believe but a part of her saying she was just making up stories because she want to get her sympathy.
"I heard what happened between you and Thyago." The woman stated abruptly.
She kept her silence and stoop down her head. Why everyone seemed to be affected by her decision? She doesn't wanna talk about her marriage, it only gives her an awkward feeling. A sudden disgust feeling is what she felt to the woman bringing the topic about her marriage. Funny because she even felt at ease with her for a moment but she touched a topic that made her heart cold again. Who is she to meddle with her decisions in life? It's not like she has a right or says in her life?
"I know I'm not in the position to tell you this because I've never been a mother to you but think about it child. Think about the consequences of it."
"Why would I consider your advice when you yourself left your family in exchange for fame? You threw away the chance of giving your child a complete family remember? Don't give me such advice that you yourself failed to accomplish." She replied sarcastically.
She suddenly wonders if she had a child with his husband or does she have a siblings? Maybe she never had a child beyond her that's why she suddenly regret and barging into her life asking for forgiveness she thought.
"I made a mistake when I left you. I got blinded by fame and wealth I could possibly have on pursuing my dream but believe it or not Beatrice, I always think of you. There are times I wanna see and talk to you but fear and hesitations always overpower me and then one time, reality just slapped me hard that it has been more than two decades had passed. I never realized that your now a full-grown woman and now becoming a mom." She could feel the emotions of regrets and pain in her voice and she don't like the fact that it damn affects her.
"I'm sorry I was never there during your childhood and teenage days. When you had your first crush and first heartache, I'm so sorry I was not there at your college graduation day, even at your Engagement Party and your Wedding Day. I'm so sorry for missing all of the important events in your life, child. I was never there when you needed me and I know sorry was never enough." She doesn't know but those words affected her big time especially those times has a soft spot in her heart. She could remember she secretly wished on her childhood days for her to be there with those important events in her life and it's kinda good in the feeling to learn from her that she wished to be there with her at those moments.
"But I'm willing to wait and do every possible means to gain your forgiveness. I hope you will somehow consider giving me a chance to be close to you and make up for the lost times. I can never revive the past but I just wanna show you how you are important to me and how I regret leaving you. I hope you'll be able to forgive me someday, child." The woman stated emotionally. To be honest, she could feel her sadness and agony through her voice.
"I know you grew up a good child and I'm thanking your father for that. Look at you now, you're a famous and successful interior designer and I'm so proud of your achievements. It's my mistake you grew up having incomplete parents and I fully regret what I've done. If I could only turn back the time, I will do the right thing and make things better." She got stunned when the woman suddenly held her hand. When she stared at the woman's eyes and she saw the pain and agony in her face, she felt her heart suddenly crushed in that gesture.
"I know I made the biggest mistake in my life and I don't want you to make the same mistake. Do you want your child to feel the same loneliness you felt towards having incomplete parents?" She got caught by the woman's last phrase.
She was right. If she decided to divorce Thyago, she will deprive her child of the complete family he deserves. She might not be going to deprive Thyago of his rights to their child but what if her child felt the same sadness and loneliness she had when she was young? Will she can bear to see that?
"I know I don't have a right to tell you that because I left and ruin our family. I just don't want you to make the same mistake I've done in the past." The woman added.
A long silence occurred afterward. The woman was concerned about the reason why she talk to her about this. She cares for her and realizing it just gives her a good and happy feeling. Funny because no matter how she tells herself that she doesn't need her and she doesn't care if she was still existing before, she realized that is just a big lie that she wants to compensate for the hatred and pains she feels towards her loss because the real truth is she still cares and been longing for her still at the back of her mind.
"I'm not here to force myself and be acknowledged by you, Bea. I'm here because I want you to know that I care about you, that I love you. Believe it or not, I have never forgotten you. I'm not here to meddle in your life, I'm not here either to tell you what to do. I just wanna tell you that if you ever feel like giving up or you want someone to cry on, I can be your second option other than your Dad. That if you ever need my help, you can always count on me." The woman concluded.
With that, she went silent and never said anything. She felt her eyes water but she still keep on acting she was not being affected. When the woman felt like she had said what she wanted to tell her, she then decided to leave and bade her goodbye. When she heard her footstep and was about to leave, a decision was borne out of her desire.
"M-Mom..." The word suddenly slipped out her mouth.
With that, the woman surprisingly turned her back and looked at her with a still stunned face.
"Thank you..." She genuinely stated. The old woman then responded with a warm and grateful smile before she left.
She knew then that's a good start between them. She realized it's still not too late to let her make up with her. To forgive her and make up for their loss times. It feels good to be free from one of her burdens. That even her heart got broken by the man she love, a missing part of herself was completed in the presence of her Mom.
