Chapter 65 Sulk
After dinner, the old couple bade their goodbyes and excuse themselves to get inside the house to rest. Thyago had a sudden call on the telephone so he left and went inside for a while too. When she finally got a chance to be alone with Elena, that's when she decided to confront her.
"You know what? You're really good at acting. Why won't you try being an actress someday? You probably have a future in that field." She sarcastically stated that automatically took Elena's attention.
"What do you mean?" The latter asked.
"I'm saying you were so much good in acting and I'm sure you know what I mean. What are these pretensions and seeking attention? You can fool everyone here but not me, okay?" She stated calmly but wickedly while giving her a sly smile.
"Excuse me? What did you just say!" Elena stated annoyingly feeling insulted.
"Stop pretending like we're so close. We both knew from the very start that we hate each other. I mean, sweet and understanding Elena and helping through some institutions? Duh! That is not the Elena I knew. Why won't you show the real you now that we're all alone? You think I don't notice you're trying to provoke me? Tell me what are these pretensions all about?" She fiercely confronted her.
"Now the real wicked Bea come out on her disguise. You're talking rudely to me right now because nobody would hear us?"
Elena is now glaring back at her. Her face was now flushing in anger. Funny because now she was throwing all the accusations as if she was the one pretending to be something she's not? See how she flipped over the situation and acting as the victim now? The real typical Elena she knew.
"Cut the crap and pretensions, it doesn't suit you well, Elena. Tell me what do you want this time?" She told her.
She saw how a wicked and dangerous smile drew Elena's lips as those glaring eyes slyly stare at her as if challenging her.
"Do you honestly wanna know, Bea? Well, I would tell you then. I want Thyago back. Simple as that."
Now, she finally admitted her vicious plan. She wants Thyago back? When does Thyago become hers? She's really a bitch!
"Are you out of your mind? We're already married." She stated scornfully giving her a sweet yet taunting smile.
"And so? What's the use of divorce?"
"You're crazy? Do you think you can break our marriage apart? We love each other, Elena." To her surprise, Elena just laughed evilly as if she said something preposterous.
"Do you think Thyago really loves you, Bea? It was me he truly love. We've been together for nine long years loving each other. Do you think that relationship can easily be thrown away and forgotten? Thyago will not fall out of love with me that easily?"
"That's not the story I heard from Thyago." She calmly stated but deep inside her, she was having qualms.
She was lying. Thyago said that their relationship ended right years ago and that was way back in their teenage days. What they have was nothing serious.
"Of course, why would he tell you the truth? He actually proposed marriage to me just last year but I rejected him and broke up with him. He married you instead because he wanted to get even with me by making revenge at your expense. He wants to hurt me and made me come back to him. He knew it will hurt me if I knew he married you. I won't be surprised if he blackmailed you just to marry him. That's how desperate he was just to get back at me, Bea. Tell me, how can he like you when he used to hate and avoid you after he knew about that stupid diary of yours? Am I making sense to you? Now here I am, taking what's rightfully mine. Don't tell me you were married because I know he can always divorce you if I completely got him back." Elena states evilly.
"You're a bitch!" She shouted angrily and immediately slapped Elena in the face.
She was not an aggressive person and this is the first time she got provoked and hurt someone physically. She was about to attack Elena but Elena immediately moved away and screamed like a scaredy-cat.
"What's going on here?" It was Thyago whom they never noticed suddenly burst out.
"She's a bitch! This woman trying to provoke me Thyago and---"
"I'm so sorry Bea, but you misunderstood me. I didn't mean to offend you, believe me?"
She went terrified when Elena's face suddenly turned soft and looked pitiful. Her eyes now are teary and her cheek's red as the mark on her face that she slapped is getting obvious. How did she manage to change her emotions looked pitiful and easily pretend that she was about to cry? She's really an actress!
"Go to hell you bitch! You will never win in breaking our marriage apart!" She hysterically shouted.
"You're wrong Bea, I am not intending to steal your husband just because I brought him an apple pie. That's just really a token of my gratitude for the favor he made."
"Oh really? That's not what you told a while ago."
"You know what? I was here to patch things between us. Thyago actually talked to me and asked to fix the rift between us. I just can't believe you misinterpret my actions. I didn't mean to offend you and believe me I want to start over and make things right between us."
"Stop your pretensions bitch! No ones gonna believe you!"
"Enough, Bea!" She heard Thyago shout and it completely shocked the hell out of her because he raised a tone on her for the first time.
"Elena, please leave! My wife and I need to talk." Thyago stated calmly but they both knew he was mad and serious.
Elena gaped in surprise then nod at him. She started walking away then left. When They were left alone, Thyago silently guided her inside as they both went to their room. He was right, they need to talk privately so his parents will not notice their argument.
"You shouldn't have done that to Elena. You're being unreasonable." Thyago stated after closing the door.
"Now I'm the one who's being unreasonable. Do you have any idea what just she told me? She told me lies that I tend to believe! She provoked me! Damn, I can claw that bitch face until it bleeds because of her lies!" She shouted in frustration.
"Why would she do that? I knew Elena and she wasn't capable of doing that."
"Are you saying that I'm the liar here?" She can't believe Thyago was behaving this way. How could he be so dumb to believe that Elena wasn't capable of telling lies?
"No, that's not what I meant. I was just saying that maybe, you might misunderstand her which makes you overreact."
"Overreacted!" She exclaimed in disgust.
"Admit it, Bea, your jealousy made you overreact sometimes. And you used to hate her remember?"
"You think it's just jealousy? You think just because I hate her, I'll make stories and tell you she has a plan in breaking our marriage apart? You think I'm that shallow and dumb---
"No, that's not what I mean. I'm saying that you might misunderstand her. You see how apologetic and scared she was when she left?"
"She was just acting can't you see that? I knew how evil she was and how capable she was in making lies!"
"That's ridiculous, Bea. She changed and I've seen it all over these years. She became my friend too for a long time."
"Oh my gosh! I can't believe that until now you still don't know her true colors."
Her shoulders dropped and unbelievably shook her head with that reaction of Thyago. She couldn't believe that he believe Elena's pretensions and lies.
"You know what! Let's not talk about this anymore. I can't believe you were at Elena's side. You're impossible!"
"Now I'm the one being impossible and unreasonable here? I was just explaining that maybe you misinterpret her and-- "
Not wanting to listen to him anymore, she just went to bed and laid herself with her back turned on him. A moment of silence occurred between them afterward. She heard him pull out a frustrated sigh then came closer to her.
"You know what? We shouldn't be fighting this way over Elena. How many times do I have to tell you there's nothing you have to be jealous about her." His tone was now soft and gentle. She didn't mind him as if she never heard her.
"Come on wifey, let's not fight about this anymore. I don't want us fighting this way...." He pulled her closer to him but she immediately pushed him away not wanting her to be touched by him. She was still mad and sulking over him.
"What's with you?" He irritatingly burst out as he lose out his patience.
"Don't touch me. I hate you!" She disgustingly said.
"You're unreasonable, Bea. Fine! If you want this, then be it." He then frustratedly turned his back on her too.
That night they decided to sleep having that rift between them. And that night she silently cried because of the pain and sulkiness she have for Thyago. She can't accept that he sided Elena over her. She can't believe he thought she was just overreacting and being unreasonable. She hates Elena so much but she hates Thyago more for being stupid and gullible over Elena's pretensions.
