Chapter 64 Pretentious Elena
It was a chilly evening and the whole family decided to have barbeque dinner on the lawn. She was with Thyago helping him grill the barbeque while the old couple is setting the table with some maids assisting them. Everyone was in a good and enthusiastic mood and it looks like this is going to be another fun dinner. Her mother-in-law told her they usually do this over the weekend as a bonding time and she finds it fun. It was a very fine night and the weather was great. Thyago and her are joking and laughing around. He was currently telling her his funny moments way back in his college days and she can't help to burst out her laughter with his funny stories.
It was almost a perfect moment for the whole family when all of a sudden, an unexpected visitor came in and joined them. Her face turned distorted when Elena suddenly enter the scene.
"Hi everyone!" She greeted cheerfully as she walks down the lawn bringing a tray of food. A huge furrow drew her forehead as she look at her while walking towards their place.
What is she doing here? Did Thyago invite her? No, he wouldn't dare because he knew it will upset me. Is it my in-laws? Oh damn, why does this happy dinner have to be ruined by her!!!
"Oh hey, Elena! Good to see you. Come join us for dinner." Her father-in-law was the first one to react when they saw her presence.
"It's nice to have you with dinner Elena but what brought you here?" Her mother-in-law asked.
"I brought some apple pie for your dinner as a token of gratitude because Thyago did me a big favor for considering me as the Main model in advertising the Fontanna Hotel in Texas. Thyago I personally baked this pie for you and I'm sure you're gonna like it." Elena stated in a sweet and charming way.
"That's so nice of you to make my husband a pie as a token of gratitude!" She stated emphasizing the word husband because the way Elana looked at her husband, it seems like the witch was not aware that she was round.
"Apple pie was his favorite, Bea. I used to bring him these before and he usually loves it, right Thyago?" Elena stated with the same sweet smile to her husband.
"That was before. You shouldn't bother bringing anything, you know." Thyago replied that made her brow cock in irritation.
"Oh, don't tell me you didn't know that he love apple pie, Bea?" Elena wickedly replied that stunned her.
She was right, she didn't know Thyago loves apple pie. It's kinda disappointing on her part if she didn't know that simple information about her husband.
"Of course she knew, right Wifey? But thanks for the apple pie, Elena." Thyago butted in then gently put his arm on her shoulder as if Thyago was catching her attention from Elena.
"That's the least I can do for that big favor you did for me, Thyago." Elena then stated sweetly.
"Thanks., Thyago replied.
A big favor uh? I thought she's a Supermodel? And she called that project a big favor when she's supposedly being offered by big advertising companies and different big projects? What a pretentious bitch!!!
"Come on everyone, dinner is ready!" The old man suddenly announced that took their attention.
Everyone decided to go to the table then. Thyago pulled her a chair to sit in and she saw how Elena reacted and looked at her viciously. She gave her a wicked and sly smile as a response then. Her smile even widen in triumph when Thyago attentively put some food on her plate.
"Thank you my sweet and thoughtful, hubby..." She stated pleasantly. She has to admit it was a bit exaggerated but that is what she intended to do. To make Elena die in jealousy.
"You guys are so sweet! I suddenly remembered our high school days. Who would have thought you will end up together?" Elena stated scornfully. Her eyes automatically went into her showing her a pissed-off look.
"Life must be really mysterious. Who would have thought, Bea's ultimate crush will be her husband in the future." Elena mockingly added.
What really is this bitch trying to insinuate? Is she trying to provoke me and make me lose my temper?!!
"Oh is that so Bea? Your ultimate crush way back on your high school days was my son?" Her mother-in-law queried with amazement in the eyes.
"You have no idea, Aunt Sofia! She was even Thyago's stalker. She even made a diary chronicling all her emotions there!" Elena butted in.
"That's so sweet!" The old woman replied.
Her grip now to the spoon and fork was so tight as she gave Elena a murderous look. What is she really trying to up to now? Bringing the past like it was a happy memory? It's not like she didn't humiliate her to the whole campus because of that?
"I believe in the common saying: love moves in mysterious ways, Elena. Everything happens for a reason and God made us to be together because we are a part of that reason." She answered wittily.
"Yes, I agree with that, child..." Her mother-in-law replied.
Her eyes are now throwing daggers at Elena and the bitch doesn't seem to mind at all. All throughout the dinner, she was trying to keep her calm and managing not to lose her temper. It was obvious Elena wanted to provoke her and she won't let her win this battle.
