Chapter 31 - The Mountain Climbing
"5:00 in the morning. Hmmm," Zen uttered after she looked on her color gold wristwatch. I bet it was really gold. The two little pimples near her nose were observable as her sweats were freely traveling on her face, but it did not make her less beautiful.
"Get up, Zen! Don't tell us that you're so weak when it comes to mountain climbing HAHA!" her boyfriend teased her, they were just like best friends. We were near the target spot and that was the reason why Zen was already tired of walking.
"Tsss. You're a green-headed alien with pink-colored blood HAHAHAHA!" She immediately stood up after she had teased Marc back, her heavy breath was the proof that she was still tired. But she chose to stand up to prove that she was not that weak. Sitting on the big root of a tree near the main path of the mountain gave her a bit rest, but it was not enough for her to regain her strength. Moreover, almost all of us were gasping for wind because of the tiredness that we were feeling.
"Let me wipe the sweat on your face, darling." Marc was such a sweet boyfriend to Zen.
"You're cute, darling!" Zen said smilingly. The way Zen and Marc looked to each other was perfectly sweet. "This is one of the reasons why I love you. You're so thoughtful!"
"Stop the drama! Let's move!" Lura butted in as she started walking, maybe she was not in the mood because Dego did not wipe the sweats on her face. But it was so nice that Dego was the one who brought her pink Hello Kitty bag pack as she was just holding her pink tumbler.
"Let's walk again. Let's continue." Dego's voice made me stop staring at Lura. I could not stop thinking of Lura's aura since the day that she and Zen had a fight inside our classroom. Lura had changed; she became a poker-faced.
"Let's go," he said before he held my hand and we walked together, I did not have the strength to stop him from holding my hand and so I let him. We were just following them, Dego and Lura were leading us to our destination. Mayb was just quiet, and she never spoke to me since I came to the CINCO'S meeting place.
The trail was not that complicated because the mountain seemed so friendly and super fresh. Every step was very unforgettable because he was holding my hand, I felt like I was being cared of. I hated that feeling because I was afraid to long for it someday, even you could not blame me for that thought. But I still let myself to just indulge the moment I was with him.
Among us, Zen and Marc were the ones who always talked and threw some jokes. Few were laughing every time that there were jokes. But I was not talking as always; I was just observing. I did not want to get the attention of anyone in the circle. I did not need attention nor chaos.
I would not go with them to climb the mountain if Draco did not accompany me.
"Thanks. I'm really sorry," I said after he told me that he had forgiven me. What he had said made me smile. I could not help myself but to smile. But it was late when I found out that I almost gave him a long speech when I was explaining myself to him. I considered it a long speech since I did not really talk much nor talk for so long, I was not comfortable, except when I was talking to mama and Mayb.
"The place where dust lays, spider web sways, and serenity lives. Inside the building, you can see four dusty purple doors widely open as if they are telling you to come in, have a sit, and take a look on what's inside every room. The high ceilings are eaten by cobwebs or moss, you will not be sure unless you come closer, then examine and touch them. But if you find the sole chair in front of the open doors, it means that you are near the room of the abandoned building where I lost my sanity," he said continually. Those words were out of the blue and they made my eyebrows raised themselves in awe. How could he be that alien for talking such nonsense?
"Huh?" I asked shockingly. My stares to him were sticky because I was really eager to hear his explanation immediately. Was he really lost his sanity inside that building?
He laid his eyes on me and said, "Seriously?" I was expecting an answer, yet I got a question. What was the problem of the universe, huh? His stares seemed to be sticky. Was he fond of imitating what I was doing? Well, let see.
"I saw her, a woman behind a misty glass window wearing white laboratory gown with nursing cap on her head as a sad smile was born on my lips, I could not vividly see if she was still kicking or if she was already worn out! I focused my attention on the floor for a while as I could not clearly perceive what she was exactly doing. But a sudden thought entered my mind as it was out of curiosity, the thought that she might be thinking this: "It's a tough job yet I should not be weak for many people need me, the patients need me! My daughter needs me. I glanced on the glass window again, but she was not there anymore," I narrated with a sad tone. I was trying to confuse him as he did it to me. It was more of a little sweet revenge; it would at least exercise his brain cells.
"Is she your mom?" he asked with his eyebrows converged. Cute. I could smile because it seemed that I succeeded.
"Secret HAHAHA!" I got him!
