Chapter 27 Knotted

Chapter 27 Knotted
Angela

Two days. He gave me two days to process the fact that he and I will be getting married. He didn't even give me much of a choice really, not that I would have refused or anything. But if I'm being honest, I am not ready to get married. Not that I don't want to, because I never thought I'd ever get married in my life.

I'm happy though. I'm very happy. Not because I'm getting married but because he chose me. He saw me worthy enough to make me his. I'm happy because saw me as an equal enough to want to be knotted to me.

It scares me though, I don't know if he's going to change now that we're getting married. I don't know if the way he treats me and Jessica will be the same or different. And if it is different, I wonder if it will be good different or bad different. I've only been surrounded by people who had bad partners, although I know there are some good ones out there, I don't know what type of partner Sergio is going to be. I don't even know if I will be treated as a partner.

"What's on that beautiful mind of yours?" Sergio asks me standing behind me in the bathroom.

I guess he doesn't care much about the tradition of the groom not seeing the bride before the wedding. Ever since we got back, he's refused to sleep alone in his bed. Even when I suggested sleeping with Jessica for a few days just to make sure she is ok. He said that he'd install cameras with sound in her bedroom I case she needs us.

"Nothing." I lie.

I don't know how he'd take 2hat what I'd been thinking about. He's never been violent to me before, but then again we've only been together for three weeks, so I'd argue that I don't know him that well. Needless to say I'm getting in this marriage blind. I'm also getting into this marriage with hope that if he changes, he will change for the better. Although I don't know how much more.

"I've learned you so much, I think I know you better than you know yourself." He tells me wrapping his arms around my waist from behind me.
"If you know me so well, then why don't you tell me what's on my mind?" I sass him and he laughs.
"I love that you're becoming bold with me. You're blooming." He tells me, catching me off guard and making me blush.

It's because he's shown me kindness I've never known. I'm still very wary of him, but I think I'm almost a good judge of character to know that yes he's a very dangerous man, but he'd never hurt me.

I've come to the conclusion that he might be trustworthy. The one thing I read on him is his loyalty, something that he's shown me since day one. That is one thing I know him to be. It's also the reason i agreed to marry him.

"I was just thinking that all of this is happening too fast." I tell him, bringing him back to his question.
"You think so?"
"Of course I do. No one in their right mind married someone three weeks after knowing them." Especially since they've never had sex before.
"Babe, a man always knows when they want to get married."

I turn around in his arms to face him. I want to look him in the eyes when I ask him this question. I want to be sure that I read his eyes. Because if there's one thing I've learned is that eyes never lie. I've also learned to read him through his eyes.

"Do you want to get married?" I ask him and watch his eyes dance.
"To you? Yes. Definitely."

His answer catches me off guard. Especially because he answered with his eyes before his mouth. In every family I've lived with, the husbands always told their wives they regretted ever getting married to them. I hope it never gets to that point between us.

"The priest will be here in twenty minutes. Did you tell Jessica about our union?"

I'm still reeling in my mind when he talks to me so I just nod my head yes.

"Ok. Let's go downstairs then so we can intercept him." He kisses my nose then my forehead and leads me out of the bathroom and downstairs.

When we step on the last step, I stop him and he turns to me. "Promise me something?" I say to him.
"Anything!"
"When you're tired of me, you'll let me go." I tell him and his face falls.
"I'll never get tired of you Angel."
"Promise me." I prompt.
"I promise." He says sounding sincere.
"Thank you." I squeeze his hand.

He turns again and we continue walking towards the sitting room to sit down on the sofas. The house wasn't prepared or anything like that. I thought it would be a waste of time and resources, especially when Sergio said I'd get to plan the wedding in the next six months so that by March we'd have our walk down the isle.

Jessica comes and sits next to me. I pick her up and put her on my lap and she pays her head on my shoulder. She's wearing a yellow dress that reaches just below her knees with pumps. I'm wearing an off white dress that also reaches just below my knees with black sandal heels. Sergio wears suit pants with a crisp white dress shirt, similar to his everyday clothing.

"You look beautiful, by the way." He complements me.
"Thank you." I say as Holt enters with a man wearing a collar around his neck.

I guess it's time.

"You ready?" Sergio asks me.
"As any woman can be after being told she getting married in two days." I answer him and he laughs as we stand.

The ceremony does not take long. In fact it takes less than twenty minutes. The priest, who's name is John, resites to us our vows and asks for the rings that I didn't even know were available and we put them on each other's hands and after we sign our marriage certificate the ceremony is done. He doesn't even stay for the lunch that is prepared.

The ring is beautiful. I can't stop looking at it. It's a pure diamond that I actually feel it's too heavy. I didn't even know that something this small could weigh this much. As much as it's simple but has a very big stone in the middle. Something I don't see necessary, especially because this wedding was just so that we could adopt Jessica as our own.

Sergio also can't stop touching my ring-clad hand. He also can't stop smiling. I had to remove my hand from his now and then so that I could eat properly and also help Jessica with her food.

By the time we retreated back to Sergio's bedroom, I was jittery with nerves. I was not ready for this. I was not ready for the wedding night.
