Chapter 28 Omission

Chapter 28 Omission
Sergio

I've always done what is necessary to get what I want. Even if it meant I had to lie and manipulate, as long as I got what I wanted. In this case though, I didn't lie. I just didn't tell the whole truth. I mean how was I supposed to get Angela to marry me if I didn't tell her that the court needed two consenting adults that are legally married for adoption to be done.

I knew I wanted her to be my wife the moment she opened her beautiful eyes, and I was going to do anything in my power to make that happen.

I've already adopted Jessica, although her new name is Anabelle now. A name I want Angela to convince Jessica to accept. I was not lying when I said I want to eradicate her whole past. I want her to have a fresh start, and that includes her name. She already has my name, my marrying Angela was just so she could also carry my name.

I don't want our marriage to be based on lies though, that's why I'm going to tell her.

Right now she is so nervous, she's been standing next to the bed twisting her fingers looking down. By tradition, were supposed to solidify our marriage by having sex, but she's not ready yet and I'm not going to force her into something she's not ready for. And with her past, I know it might take long. Because even though we've touched base, I know she's not ready.

I'm willing to wait for her though, blue balls and all. I will have to hit the gym more than normal until she is ready. I will have to make sure that she's on birth control for now because I have a feeling that when we do consummate our marriage Imma get her pregnant, and I don't think we're ready for that yet, Anabelle is enough for now, plus Angel is still studying.

"Babe, come here." I tell her walking towards her.

She rounds the bed slowly looking down. She's nervous, I can see that, which is to be expected honestly. It's worse in the Mafia because if a marriage is not consummated then it's not considered a real marriage. It's the reason that I kept this marriage private and had a small ceremony. I don't want anyone to know yet.

"We're not consummating our marriage." I tell her.
"But it's custom that after a wedding a marriage must be consummated." She says, sounding too small. I don't like it.
"But you're not ready yet, Angel. I'd never force you into doing something you're not ready for, you know that, right?" She nods her head at my question.
"Good. Now, it's late and I'd love to sleep next to my wife. Is that ok?" That lifts her head higher and brings a smile to her face.

I help her undress then finish undressing my own clothes and we get into bed. We're not completely naked, I've learned my lesson. A man can take that much. The next six months are going to be hard. I have to teach her to be free in her body without freaking out. She's never really freaked out on me before, but then again I've never crossed a line with her before.

"What if someone asks?" Her question comes suddenly. "What if someone suspects we didn't consumate?"
"It's none of their business. What we do is our business, not theirs." I tell her.
"But what if they ask?"
"Then we tell them we did."
"But we'd be lying." She tells me after being silent.

I wonder what her reaction will be when I tell her about Jessica.

"That's why no one outside of the people who were present will know we got married today."
"Oh..."
"If someone found out we're married right now, it would be me sending you and Jessica to your death. Hence I gave you six months to plan our wedding."

I know her too well. She's an open book to me. I read her too well, it makes it easy for me to jump forward and fix before she gets there herself. I don't want her to overthink me marrying her without a crowd.

The ceremony held both of us and Jessica and also Holt and Brian. The dinner was the same. I don't want anyone suspecting anything. With the rings, I've already had two chains made for our rings. I don't want anyone to know yet. Especially at work. With me going around and about, it will be easier for people to see the ring on my finger.

After I've explained everything to her, she at least seems to understand my concern. I can sense though that she doesn't fully believe me so I decide to change the subject.

"What if I told you..." I tell her as I turn her so she's facing me. "... that it wasn't necessary for us to get married today?"

She attempts to sit but I hold her tighter. "What do you mean?"
"What if I told you that I've already adopted Jessica. That I just wanted a right to call you mine without it feeling wrong?"
"Are you serious?" She asks me and her voice skips.
"Yes."
"So you lied to me?"

This time when she tries to pull away from me I let her. I don't want her to feel confined.

"By omission. I had to pull some heavy strings to pull to get it done."
"Omission is still a lie Sergio." She says pacing the bedroom.
"It is. It's also a truth. And it should tell you how I feel about you." I tell her standing up and walking towards her.

If she wants to know my feelings then she's about to find them out.

"It should tell you that I would do anything to make you mine. It should tell you that there's no rock I wouldn't turn or mountain I wouldn't climb just for you. It should tell you that I love you. That I fell in love with you the first time you opened your eyes and looked at me. I'm never gonna let you go baby." I finish my words with a kiss.

I hope she knows what I just said is the truth, my truth. I need her to understand that what I feel for her, even to me, is crazy. I've never felt this way before. I've never felt like I needed someone this bad before.
