Forgiving Her
Akshara was in shock knowing that Avika left Samar. Akshara asked Avika to sit on the sofa and comforted her by giving water to her.
"What happened between you and Samar?" Akshara said.
"Samar slapped me."
"What? As far as I know, Samar loves you a lot. He is not that rude. Tell me clearly."
Avika said everything to Akshara.
"Did Samar ask you to leave the home?"
"No, no. He didn't ask me to leave. But he slapped me without understanding."
"You are saying he didn't understand you. Did you understand him?"
"What do you mean? I understood him, but he lied to me about Virat. He gets angry even if I lie in small things. But he too did the same. If he wants me to be honest then he too should be honest to me."
"Avika, I don't think Samar lies to you. If you understood him well, you would never hurt him. You are trusting Virat, whom you know nothing about. But you are not trusting your husband. Just tell me one thing. Did he lie to you anytime?"
"No, he didn't."
"Then how can you say that he lied to you now?"
"Because I enquired about Virat. Everyone said he is a good person."
"We always see only the bigger picture but forget to see smaller things in it. He may act good in front of everyone, but maybe he has another shade too. Sometimes we can't trust even our own eyes and ears. Something may be hidden in it which you can't see."
"I will enquiry about him once," Akshara's husband said.
"Avika, whatever it is coming like this from home without telling Samar is really bad. If he reads your letter, he will become even more angry. Don't break relationships. Samar is perfect for you.
Marriage is not something which we can break it that easily. It is a sacred bonding between two hearts bound with love, trust and understanding. You go to your home before Samar returns and reads your letter. Don't prolong the fight. If he says anything in anger, just be silent for a while. I am sure he will apologize to you for slapping you. He loves you a lot."
Avika hugged Akshara.
"You are right. I shouldn't hurt him. I will leave to the home. Bye."
Samar stopped the car near a park.
"How could Avika make such a big decision without informing me? She trusted Virat but not me. Why would I lie to her about Virat? Until now I always loved, trusted, understood and supported her. How could she lie to me? How could she say that I am giving more value to business and rivalry than my sister? I always gave much priority to relationships than anything else but Avika didn't understand me. She really hurt me."
"But what did I do? I too hurt her. How could I raise my hand against her? She is my wife not a slave. She did wrong but it doesn't mean I too can hurt her by doing wrong. I should have explained her the truth. Instead of that, I became the reason behind her tears. She may be crying alone at home. I should apologize her and console her. I should love her more than before and make her realize the truth. I must control my anger."
Samar went to the home. But he didn't find Avika. He searched the whole house for her. Then he found a letter near the pillow and opened it.
"Samar, I am leaving the house. I can't stay with a person like you who don't understand me. You hurt me a lot. Who are you to slap me? You don't have any right to behave that rudely with me. I can't tolerate this behavior.
I am going to Akshara. Until you apologize me, I won't return to our home. If you don't apologize me, we can't get united again.
Bye, Avika.
Samar was in shock reading her letter.
"I know I did wrong but she forgot everything that I did for her until now. She just remembered my rudeness but forgot my love, care, and support. If she doesn't want to come back, I am not going to bring her home by apologizing her. Let her realize her mistake and return by herself. Even if she comes back, I won't forgive her easily."
Samar came out of his thoughts, hearing the knocking sound of the door and went down to open the door. It's Avika. Avika didn't know that whether he read the letter or not. She didn't dare to step in waiting for his permission. He moved aside allowing her to step inside. She went into the room calmly.
She remembered writing the letter rudely in anger. Avika searched for the letter but didn't find it.
"Are you searching for this?" Samar said. Samar held the letter in his hand.
He is damn angry with her and she understood that seeing his face. He closed the door.
"I am sorry," Avika said trying to calm his anger. He came near to her. Unknowingly she stepped back. He looked at her seriously. She stopped moving and stood in her place. He pinned her to the wall.
"So you want me to apologize you? Tell me how I should apologize you. Should I sit on my knees or should I touch your feet?"
"I am sorry. I am really sorry."
"You can't stay with a person like me. I didn't know that I am that rude to you until now. How many times did I scold you? How many times did I slap you before this? I think I am torturing you a lot every day, right?"
Avika clearly saw pain in his eyes while asking those questions to her. She understood how much her words hurt him.
"Answer me," Samar shouted at her.
"Never. You have never scolded me nor raised hand at me anytime."
"Who am I to slap you? I didn't have any right over you to behave like that. Good, you are too good at teaching rights to me."
Samar pressed himself over Avika making her scream with pain. She bit her lower lip to stop screaming. He again came closer to her. She burst into tears but didn't ask him to leave her. She silently stood there bearing the pain as she doesn't want to break the relationship.
"Answer me. Who am I to you? Didn't I have any right over you?"
"You are...my husband. You have…all rights…over me."
"I will show you what rights I have over you. You will understand what type of person is difficult to stay with."
Samar said and left her. She took a deep breath for which she struggled until now. He went out of the room. At night, he came to the room. Avika sat on the bed but stood up seeing him.
"I am sorry for misbehaving with you. I didn't mean to do it. And I am sorry for raising hand at you. Whatever it is, I shouldn't have behaved that way with you. I couldn't control my anger in that moment. It would never be repeated," Samar said.
Avika went near to him to hug but he stopped her.
"As you said you can't stay with me, let's live separately in the same house. Let's end our relationship today itself."
Avika didn't understand what he said at once. But later on, she understood what he meant.
"Samar, I am sorry. Please, forgive me. I will do whatever you say. Please don't give me this punishment."
"I already made my decision. However, trust and love once lost can't be regained. You should never try to make me talk to you. Otherwise I will leave this house."
Avika was about to talk but stopped listening his last words. She completely understood the cost of her stupidity. She lost his love. She cried for two days continuously. Then she decided to move on. She started concentrating on her business. She prepared dinner for him. He came home but didn't have the food. He prepared by himself. However, he didn't leave the room in anger. He still stayed with her in the same room as he knows her condition.
One month passed by but still he didn't talk to her. That day she has some important presentation and it's Samar's birthday too. She thought to wish him but he left home even before she wakes up. In the midnight, he didn't wake up. She tried to wake him up to wish but in vain. She went to the office and realized that she forgot the laptop. There is very less time. She didn't have time to go home and bring it. She almost lost hopes on the contract. But then she saw Samar coming with laptop.
"Your laptop. You always have the habit of forgetting valuable things in the life. It will cost you one day. So, be careful not to forget them," Samar said.
After one month he talked with her. He handed the laptop over to her.
"Wish you a very Happy Birthday," Avika said hiding her tears.
"Birthday doesn't give happiness. Only people we love can give us happiness or ruin our happiness. Anyways if possible, come home soon in the evening. There is a party."
It hit her so badly as an arrow. Because he invited her as a guest. She just nodded. She completed the presentation as soon as possible. It's just 3 PM. If she goes home now, she can take care of all the arrangements. She came from the conference hall and started immediately to the home.
On her way, Avika came across an accident. She got down and found a person in pool of blood. Everyone stood there just watching it as if it's a movie. She immediately called her driver and took the person to the hospital. She admitted him in a hospital. With the help of his mobile, she called his family. She waited there until they came.
After some time, she picked up the mobile to call Samar. But she found ten missed calls from him already. Only then, she realized that her mobile is on silent mode. She called him back.
"Samar, I am coming within ten minutes."
"Ok. I am waiting for you. Already all the guests came here," Samar said and disconnected the call.
She was about to go but doctor said patient needs blood and it's urgent. Every second costs his life. Fortunately her blood group matched the patient. She donated the blood, and after some time, she went to the home. By the time she went, there is no one. Samar sat in the hall alone.
"I am sorry. Actually I started early but...."
"I really wanted you to come early for me, however I am sure you would not come on time. I think we both did a mistake by marrying. I married you as I love you. But you married me as a compromise without love. It's difficult to love a person lifelong knowing they don't love us. Let's take divorce, Avika. It's good for both of us. I will unite you with your parents. Then you will have a family and already you are successful in your career. I don't think you need me now."
Avika didn't reply to him and went to the room, placing the gift on the teapoy in front of him. She closed the door and cried a lot. She knows that she hurt him a lot. But she was not ready to give up on this relationship. She broke his trust but she is sure of regaining his trust again. She decided to talk to him.
"Maybe if I apologize to him and explain clearly what's up in my heart, he might forgive me. It's becoming difficult for me to bear this pain. His behavior is killing me by making me guilty. Before this incident, he used to understand everything even without saying. But now he is misunderstanding and not even giving me a chance to explain. I should clear this out today," Avika thought and went to his study room.
She knocked on the door and he opened the door.
"See, I don't have time to listen to you. Now I realized your true feelings. I am not going to fall for your tears anymore. Just go away, Avika."
Avika sat on the knees before him. Samar looked at her in shock.
"What are you doing? First get up. Ok, I will listen to you. Get up first, Avika."
"Samar, please let me speak. For a month, I've been trying to say this to you. Finally, today I gained the courage to face you.
I am sorry for hurting you so much. I am really very rude to you. Lying to you, cheating you and leaving you are my biggest mistakes. I shouldn't have asked you who are you."
Samar turned another side but she already noticed tears in his eyes.
"Please, forgive me once. I did wrong and I am accepting that. Maybe I married you as a compromise or with repentance. But now I am deeply in love with you. I can't imagine even a day in my life without you. I promise I would never hurt you again. Please give me one last chance to be your wife forever."
Samar turned towards her.
"On that day, I said you should apologize to me for slapping me. You asked whether you should apologize to me sitting on the knees or touching my feet. But you didn't do anything wrong. It's me who should apologize. Already I am on my knees before you, seeking your forgiveness. I am ready to touch your feet too for my rudeness. Please forgive me. I love you."
Avika said and about to touch his feet. Samar moved back as he couldn't see Avika touching his feet. She looked at him and thought that he didn't want her to touch him. But he made her to stand up and then, hugged her tightly. She burst into tears.
"I am sorry, Avika. I really don't know that my behavior hurt you this much. I shouldn't have raised hand at you. It's my mistake. Please, forgive me. I promise that I will never do it again. I love you so much."
Samar kissed her lips. She felt his love after a month.
"I will show you something."
Saying this he lifted her in his arms.
"What? Samar, please, leave me. I will walk."
He smiled and took her to the terrace. It's decorated beautifully. There is a table with cake on it.
"You are the only guest with whom I wanted to celebrate my birthday. I tried a lot to control myself. But I couldn't. So I finally gave up and spoken to you in the morning. Because I want to celebrate my birthday with you. But you came very late. So I shouted at you."
"I am sorry."
"Why did you come late?"
Avika told everything to him.
"You know the value of life of a person. Birthday will come every year but if anything happens to him, we can't give his life back to him. You did the right thing. I am sorr—"
Avika closed his mouth.
"Don't say sorry to me anytime. You always understand me well. I love you."
Avika said hugging him. He hugged her and kissed on the forehead.
"I love Avika no matter what she does. If wife can bear and forgive husband for any mistake, why can't a husband forgive wife, when she does a mistake?
I will prove the truth about Virat to Avika. Then she will trust me completely. I am angry with her for leaving the house but not for trying to marry Prema to Virat. Because I know she just wants Prema to be happy and she is worried as Prema attempted suicide. Anyone in her place would make the same decision as she made," Samar thought looking at Avika.
"Samar, please cut the cake."
Avika called him. He smiled and cut the cake. They fed each other. Finally, war was ended between them and love took place in their hearts. But still she needs to convince his parents as they are angry with her for trying to marry Prema with Virat.
"Your gift is awesome," Samar said showing watch to his hand.
Avika smiled hugging Samar.
