Chapter 22: Danial's Plan
They had spent the entire day coming up with a plan. Margret had brought them dinner at some point, neither one realizing she was there until plates were being set down on the coffee table right in front of them. Both male's eyebrows raised in surprise, before looking ahead of them to see the older woman, arms crossed, eyebrow raised in a disappointed scowl. The men looked at each other in confusion before looking back at her.
“When was the last time you two ate? And what are you two planning?” Margret asks, walking around to the back of the couch to look at the papers and blueprints scattered across the table.
“I… don’t know? What time is it?” Killian asks, hand on his chin, a puzzled expression settled onto his face. He had no idea what time it was or how long they had been sitting there.
“He found Deku. We are putting a plan together to save him. He might be seriously injured.” Danial says, pushing the food aside to get a better look at the blueprints Killian had got of the house Gunderson was keeping Jay in.
“Really?! What did they do to him?!” She asks worried, she missed Jay too and already felt like he was part of her family.
Killian spent the next 15 minutes filling Margret in on everything as the duo ate dinner, while Danial stood up, pacing around the couch and coffee table while looking over the blueprints and the kidnappers' schedules. He was hoping to find a time to break into the old run-down house while the two freaks were out, leaving Jay alone in the house. As far as he could tell, Gunderson always made sure that there was someone in the house with the brunette at all times. Usually, herself.
“We just need 10 minutes of them gone to get in and out with Deku to avoid us being seen.” Danial mutters, still pacing. The blondes on the couch look up at him. Realizing what he was thinking about. Margret gripped her chin with her hand, another arm crossed under the one holding her face, with a clinical expression as an idea started circling through her brain.
“Maybe I can help with that.” She said, gaining the attention of the males. Killian raised his eyebrow in confusion as Danial stopped pacing in front of them, on the other side of the coffee table.
“What do you mean, mom?” The youngest says, surprising Margret, who can’t help but smile in happiness at being called mom and not Hag.
“I could rent out the restaurant they work at for a night and make it such a big party that they need all their staff on duty. That way they would have no choice but to leave Jay unattended for a couple of hours. Which would allow you guys time to slip in and out, unknown to Britney and Cody.” The older woman said, smirking at the idea, already planning what kind of event it should be as she looked at the restaurant's website and reviews. It was a nice place, good reviews. It was only an adult restaurant because of the bar, smoking allowed rule, and the wait staff wearing ‘revealing’ uniforms. Almost like a classier strip club, without the strippers or poles.
“Do you really think you could do that because it is a great idea! As far as I can tell, they don’t have a third person helping them. It’s just the two of them, so theoretically, if we made their work so busy that neither one could get away with calling in sick or asking for time off, Jay would be left alone at the house.” Killian says, thinking it through while going through all the information that he had gathered. Danial’s storm-blue eyes are wide with hope. Hoping with every part of his being that this could really work.
Just as he is about to say something, a sharp nerve bursting pain shoots across his back. Danial screams in agony as he drops to his knees, hands flying up to hold his head as the pain worsens. Tears flowed down his face faster than a raging river over a waterfall. His wrecked sobs combine with screams of pain.
Killian and Margret jump up from the sudden screaming, rushing over to him, trying to figure out what was wrong. Killian was the first one to realize what was happening. Jay was being tortured, and Danial could feel it.
“Margret, you need to set up that party now!” Killian yells, rushing to grab a sedative from his briefcase. Once he’s sure he has the dosage right, he injects it into Danial’s shoulder. Slowly, the youngest blonde’s cries start to lessen as his eyelids start to droop. Margret was cradling her baby in her arms as tears cascaded down her pale cheeks.
“Is Danial going to be, okay?” She asks, her blue eyes meeting the other male’s golden ones. He lets out a deflated sigh, shoulders sagging slightly.
“I don’t know, but I do know that if we don’t get Jay out now, he will die, and Danial will never recover.” He says, standing up again, picking up Danial off the floor to put him on the couch. Margret sniffs as she nods, standing up from the floor. Once she was able to get herself together, she made a call to her party planner. Telling the woman where she wanted it and when. Leaving the guest list up to her.
Margret spent the next couple of hours going over ideas with Killian before she left for the night. She eventually went home after they had made a plan, and the mother was sure her boy was going to be okay. Killian had been staying at Danial’s while he looked for Jay and promised to call Margret if anything happened during the night.
She left after kissing her son’s forehead and promising to call them in the morning, after she had finalized everything with her party planner.
~The Next Day, Day Five~
“Okay, so it is going to be a fundraiser party for shelters that help victims of abusive relationships. It will be held tomorrow night at The Golden Crown. Invites have already been set out and most have already replied with a yes. We have the menu all planned and the entire restaurant staff will be catering it. Are you going to tell why this is so important? Does it have something to do with Jay’s disappearance?” Margret’s party planner Clare asks. She was a trusted friend of the Bennett family and was actually the one who initially introduced Margret to Killian at a fundraiser dinner held by the government a couple of years ago.
“You really are too smart, Clare. Yes, this has to do with Jay. The people holding him hostage work there, and Killian and Danial are going to sneak in and rescue Jay during the party. While his kidnappers are busy working.” Margret says, sitting back in her plush chair as she looks up at the surprised expression on the dark-haired girl’s face.
“Killian is going to help Danial get him out. It must be serious if he’s willing to risk his freedom again by getting his hands dirty. In that case, I will make it impossible for any of the staff to call out. I didn’t think we would need the cash bonus for all of the staff to show up, but in this new light, it might be wise. I’ll call the owner as soon as we are done and finalize everything. Anything else, ma’am?” Clare asks, looking up from her tablet that she had been tapping away on while she was speaking.
“No, that is it. As you can assume, the real reason behind this party needs to be kept a secret, so please keep this quiet, Clare.” The older woman says, clasping her hands over her desk, storm-blue eyes filled with uncertainty.
“Of course, ma’am. I will let you know if there are any issues.” The two women nod to each other before the black haired one walks out of the room, already pulling out her cell phone.
“I hope this works.” Margret whispers into the room, turning her chair around to look out her office window, before getting up to go fill Liam in, who was in the design room going over sketches with his design team.
~Somewhere on the other side of town~
“Gunderson, we have a problem.” Cody says, walking back into the living room, after finishing bandaging up Jay from Gunderson’s latest tantrum.
“What could be more of a problem then Jay not doing as I say.” She mutters, annoyingly scowling at the tv playing in front of her, legs and arms crossed. Cody rolls his eyes as he comes to stand in front of the tv, blocking her view. She groans, looking up at him.
“Tomorrow night there is a fundraiser being held at the restaurant and all of the employees are required to work it. There is a huge cash bonus, so that's an extra incentive to work it.” He says, crossing his arms as he gauges her reaction. His purple eyes watching her closely.
“Fuck! Well… what are we going to do? We can’t leave him here alone. What if he escapes?!” She shrieks, standing up, flailing her arms about. Her face turned bright red as she started to lose her cool.
“Relax. It will be fine. He can’t even walk right now, and you broke his arm. He’s not going anywhere, so chill. It’s only for three hours, then we will be back and can finish with him and take the money we make from this job and leave town. Hell, even the country. At this rate you just might as well cut your losses and kill him. He’s already half dead anyways.” Cody’s words hit deep within the pouting brunette as she thought about it.
It had been five days since she had kidnapped the large brunette, and nothing had changed. She had also gone too far now to be able to let him go. Maybe it was time to just off him and take the money they had saved and run away to another country and start over, but then again there was Cody. She didn’t know if she wanted to bring him with, but she needed him for the time being. ‘Maybe there is something I can use him for to get away easier. Hmm, just maybe?’ She thought, putting her hands on her hips, letting out a defeated sigh.
“Fine, we will go work at this party then use the money to get tickets out of the country before we kill him. I don’t want to stay in a house that sticks like a dead body. When is the party again?” Gunderson says, growing bored of this conversation.
“Tomorrow night. You might as well just leave the lump of flesh alone till after we get back tomorrow.” The blonde says, sitting down on the couch, grabbing the remote to change the channel. Unknown to them that Jay heard the whole thing, since they forgot to close the metal door that separated them from his cell.
Silent tears rolled down his face as he thought about Danial and the future they would never get to have. ‘I love you Danny, please remember that.’ Was his last thought before sleep finally took him.
Across town, in a messy apartment, a tired blonde went over the plan one more time with the other exhausted blonde. Both wanted to make sure they had all their bases covered before going out and collecting supplies early tomorrow morning.
Danial sat back on his couch, taking deep breaths trying to get his nerves under control when a familiar voice echoed in his head. ‘I love you Danny, please remember that.’
‘Hang on just a little longer Deku, I’m coming. I promise. I love you too.’ Danial thought as a silent tear rolled down his face from the pained voice of his soulmate. He then felt a pleasant buzz run over his skin, letting him know that Jay heard him. ‘Tomorrow, I will get my lover back. No matter what.’
