Chapter 23: Deku?!

Clare Seaford came from a very powerful underground family. A family that was known for being able to get you anything your heart desired, at a price of course.

They even made a lot of the stuff people asked for. That was how they built their empire. They could and did make anything from children's toys to weapons of mass destruction.

The Seafords didn’t usually work for other people, but when Clare first met the Bennett family, she knew she had to work for them.

She was a couple of years older than Danial and had known him since they were kids. Margret would often hire the Seafords to get her fabrics and other stuff Liam needed that she couldn’t get on her own.

The two families even had some factories they owned together, as business partners.

When Clare graduated from college, her family asked if she wanted a place in the family business, but the young dark-haired girl declined.

Instead, she went to Liam and Margret, and asked to work for them. The Bennett's immediately accepted, giving her the highest pay they could. She never failed to get what the family requested. In some circumstances Clare was their saving grace. Same could definitely be said for helping them get everything ready to save Jay.

Margret and Clare were at the restaurant, overseeing everything, making sure everything was being set up to their liking. They were also keeping an eye out for Cody and Gunderson. Margret had given Clare instructions to make sure they show up and to keep them very busy, and make sure one of their security men had eyes on the pair at all times.

The party was set to happen at 6pm, which was in two hours. All the staff, except Gunderson, had shown up and was getting to work.

When Clare questioned the manager about it, he had said she had a family emergency to take care of before coming in, that she would be in at 5pm to help set up the last of the preparations before the fundraiser started. The black-haired woman just nodded, looking down at her tablet, walking away.

~With Danial~

It was 4:30pm, Danial and Killian had gathered everything they needed and had it loaded up in the car Killian had bought earlier that day, with cash. Killian had also called his friend at the local hospital and had informed her that they would be saving and bringing in a kidnap victim that would be in really bad shape. The doctor had replied saying that she would have everything ready and on standby. To call her when they were on their way. Margret had given Killian her card to pay the doctor and make sure Jay would get the best care.

Danial was standing in his kitchen, looking at his phone, contemplating calling Edward to tell him they had found Jay and were planning on saving him, but he didn’t know if it would be wise.

“What’s with the face, kid?” Killian asked, walking into the kitchen, a large backpack on his back and a medium sized duffle bag in his right hand.

“Should I tell Edward?” Was all the younger blonde could say, still staring at his phone, at Jay’s adopted father's contact.

“No. It will only complicate things. He will find out when we get Jay back and at the hospital. We can’t risk anything going wrong.” Golden eyes were filled with determination, studying the unsure look in dark blue eyes.

Danial finally nods, agreeing with the other blonde. They head out to the car, loading up the two backpacks and the single duffle bag.

One bag was filled with medical supplies they could need on hand. The second bag had weapons and a couple of tech gadgets Killian was given by the prime minister for his missions. Then the duffle contained extra medical supplies that they might need if Jay was in worse shape than they thought.

Another benefit of Killian being the one to help Danial was that he also was friends with the police chief of the nearest station, allowing them to be able to speed through the streets to get to the hospital after they had gotten Jay out.

Danial couldn’t believe they were finally here. Two days of scouting, searching, and planning had finally paid off. They had a plan, and a damn good one in the duo's opinion. All their bases were covered, and they were prepared for the worst, at least that’s what Danial hoped.

~5:44pm, Outside Cody’s House~

Gunderson had left 45 minutes ago, and it was taking everything in the younger blonde’s power not to jump out of the older’s car and make a mad dash for the house, beating down the front door and finding his Deku.

“Relax kid. Just one more minute.” Danial stared at the clock on the car's dashboard. Killian’s gaze was firmly on the house.

They planned to get out and walk around to the alley along the side of the house. Then jump the backyard fence and go in through the back door. As far as Killian could find out, Cody had no security system in place, nor had Gunderson put one in, in the last 5 hours.

When the clock finally turned to 5:45 Danial was out of the car and grabbing his bag before Killian could say anything. Killian chuckled lightly before getting out of the car and looking around, seeing no one out and about, the duo headed down the sidewalk and down the alley.

It was a relatively quiet evening, only a few dogs barking in the distance and some birds chirping on the high wire above them. Danial watched Killian lead him quietly over the fence and through the small yard.

Killian’s footsteps were soft and calculated as he moved, glancing back at Danial every few steps to make sure he was still there. They made it to the back door; the older male checked it for any alarms and studied the lock. There were no wires around it or box next to the door, making Killian confirm that his intel was right about the kidnappers not having a security system setup.

The lock was your basic deadbolt and house lock. It took Killian all of five seconds to unlock both, Danial cautiously opening the door as the other stood up. Their vigilant, decisive eyes met for a second, both nodding as they slowly made their way inside.

The backdoor opened up into the small, rather filthy, kitchen of the house. There was a door to their left that looked like it led to a bathroom, and an opening ahead of them that led out into the dining room and living room. Along the same wall as the kitchen opening there was an entrance to a hallway. There were three doors; left, right, and dead ahead. The left and right doors looked normal, but the one in front of them was a heavy metal door. It had an even more sophisticated lock than the one on the back door. The two blondes looked at each other before Danial put his ear to the door, while Killian pulled out his lock cracking kit and got to work.

Danial could only hear labored breathing on the other side, barely, just barely. His entire body became rigid as fear raced through his already anxious body. It might have only taken Killian a minute to crack the lock, but to the younger, it felt like an eternity.

Just as Killian was about to open the door, he stopped, meeting the confused crimson gaze of his partner in crime.

“Just remember… remember to breathe. No matter what we find beyond this door, everything will be okay. Keep your head in the game.” Killian’s words were stern, but his golden eyes held uncertainty. Danial wasn’t the only one worried about what they would find on the other side.

Danial took a deep breath, closing his eyes, before opening them again as he let out the breath. He nodded, looking back at the door. Slowly Killian opened the door, not seeing any security of this door either.

They were not prepared for what was on the other side of that door.

Tears instantly were streaming from storm-blue eyes as they took in the scene before them. Even the older male beside him had tears in his eyes from the sight that lay in the metal cage.

Jay was chained to the floor by his neck, his shirt soaked in blood and shredded, practically falling off his prone body laying across the cement floor. He was laying on his belly, his brown curls matted with blood and dirt. His right arm lying crooked across the floor beside his, almost a deep purple color. Jay’s once smooth muscular back was now covered with slashes from the leather whip hanging in the corner. The brunette’s other arm and legs were covered in cuts and small burns. Blood was all over the cell.

They could barely see his chest rise and fall with every breath, and they could tell something had to be wrong internally with how horrible his breathing sounded.

Danial rushed over to the cell door, using Killian’s lock picks to pick the lock and swinging open the door. He didn’t know what to say as he dropped to his knees beside Jay. All he could do was sob as he slowly reached out to touch his soulmate.

“Please… no more… just leave… me alone… please.” Jay’s words were filled with pain and trauma, his body slightly shaking in fear. His emerald eyes squeezed shut in anticipation of the pain he thought he was about to receive.

Jay had heard someone open the door, and decided to keep still, thinking it was Gunderson coming back to kill him. Then when nothing happened for a few minutes, he thought it was Cody checking on him, but when the person didn’t leave and the cell door opened, he feared the worst. But none of that happened, instead, a soft hand settled gently on his head, and he could hear someone sobbing.

“Deku, oh my god… What have they done to you, my love.” Danial’s voice was filled with agony, making Jay’s eyes fly open and his body tense up, well what parts he could feel and move.

Slowly, he moved his head to the other side, to look at who he could only hope was the real Danial, not another hallucination.

The moment emerald met crimson; the boys were sobbing with relief. The ground was quickly becoming soaked under Jay’s cheek and Danial’s shirt was in the same boat. Killian watched them for a moment, keeping an ear and eye out for trouble before looking around the room, checking for anything that could alert the villains to their arrival or the removal of Jay from his cell.

“Danny… Danny please tell me this is real… that this isn’t another dream or hallucination.” Jay sobbed, closing his eyes as Danial’s hand came to cup his free cheek.

“I’m real, baby. I’m right here and we are getting you out of here. Killian, help me get this stupid filthy collar off him. We need to get him to the hospital.” Danial said, looking back at the other blonde. Killian had already pulled out his phone calling the doctor.

“Doc, we got him. Code black.” Killian said into the phone, Danial turning back to Jay, trying to get the collar off. The older male hung up the phone and texted the chief, notifying him that they were gonna need a blockade set up to rush Jay to the hospital. The last person he notified was Margret, telling her they found Jay and asking if the psychos were still there. “Margret says that the lunatics are still there. The hospital is ready for us.” He says, rushing over to help Danial. They got the collar and chain off, Killian pulled out the first aid kit to stabilize Jay’s wounds and broken bones before they moved him. “Hello, Jay. My name is Killian. Margret hired me to help Danial find you. We are going to get you out of here, but you are in really bad shape. I’m going to give you a small dose of morphine to ease your pain, but when we move you… it will… It will hurt… a lot. For you both.” Danial and Jay's eyes met as Killian gave him the shot of morphine.

“I’ll be fine.” Was all Jay said, his green eyes lighting up with hope after feeling so dead inside.

It was horrible, moving his broken arm, letting Killian put it in a brace, as Danial bandaged up his other wounds. He did his best not to scream or alert the blondes to his pain, but he couldn’t hide it from Danial. His soulmate could feel his pain, and held his hand tightly, trying to comfort him.

Thankfully, Killian had planned well, packing a portable stretcher that was almost like a hammock, to transport Jay out to their waiting car. They were just about to open the front door, when Killian got a text from Margret saying Gunderson had left to take a smoke break, but the guy she had in charge of watching the crazy brunette couldn’t find her. Panic was written all over his face as he looked up at Danial, who he was sure knew that something was wrong.

They rushed as fast as they could to the car, Jay having lost consciousness from the pain of being moved, especially after spending so much time lying on the cold cement floor.

Just as they got Jay and themselves into the car, a pink car pulled into the driveway. The boys waited until she was walking inside before they drove off, speeding down the road towards the hospital.

A scream of white-hot rage sounded behind them as they drove away.
