Chapter 32 Escape

Chapter 32 Escape

Naida
I moved with silence, following the guard as we walked out of the room. Olivia followed behind me, but knowing she couldn't go with me, she ended up just going along with everything that happened, leaving me halfway with a hug.

As she hugged me, I heard her voice whisper into my ears. “You have to be careful. I know how much you are scared of him, but then you have to be smart too.”

Her advice was great, and I knew it was the best advice to take at the end of the day, so I decided to make things work out.

"You have to be smart," her words repeated as she let go of me, and I was forced to smile. We didn't want the guard to get the wrong impression. Besides, there was a lot to be done that hadn't been done already. I was even more than worried. I wished there was a way to make things better than usual.

By the time she left me, I continued to walk with the guard. The silence in the hallways got to me, and I found myself drifting into thoughts.

“What if he does something bad to you, hmmm?" My wolf asked with sorry in her tone, but I didn't want to be disturbed, so I pushed that to be at the back of my mind. I knew there was a lot he might have wanted to ask me.

It wasn't long before we got to the room, and as the guard entered, I followed behind me, only for me to hear Luciver's voice.

"Leave us…” His voice was steady, and it didn't leave room for argument. I stayed there for a while worried, and the silence overwhelmed me as the guard swiftly left. I held my breath scared for what would come next.

Finally, he said something, making me raise my head. I blinked confused if I had heard him well enough.

“Come closer…" he said, and immediately tilted his head when I looked a bit too surprised.

I swallowed, wondering why. I was happy exactly where I was, close to the door which was a bit strange. Well, maybe it was because of the fear I had for him. There was definitely something wrong.

I didn't know what he wanted from me. I found myself moving forward little by little. My thoat, and chest tightened, my lips pressed into a thin line as my temperature slowly rose up.

My mind raced with so many unpleasant thoughts, and I wish I could be able to make them disappear, but I guess I couldn't. I was more worried about myself than anything else at this point.

What was in his mind, what kind of plans did he have? Why did I even bring myself here? Well, I guess we were about to find out no matter how hard it was.

It wasn't long before I was standing at the edge of the bed, my heart thumping, I tried to swallow the lump that was in my throat, but I found out that I really couldn't do that. I tried my best to, but it wasn't working out.

“You seem a bit too tense, can you at least relax?" He asked with raised brows, and I was forced to exhale. I didn't really know if I could do that, I guess things were just too crazy.

"Say something…” he uttered, and I swallowed. What exactly did he want to say now that could possibly make some sense.

“W-what can I say?’ I asked him, and he hummed. He seemed to have a lot on his mind. Well, I didn't really know what else to say.

He hummed. “You have been a bit quiet these days, what's the matter?" He asked, and all the while, his eyes never left me. He seemed to have this look in his eyes that he didn't want to tell me about.

Well, I immediately sighed. I didn't know what else to say about it.

"You don't have to do anything, just tell me the reason why you have been reserved, what has been on your mind?"

I shook my head, I couldn't tell him he was the reason I was acting like this. That was the wrongest thing to say. He shouldn't even know I knew something about him.

"You sure there's nothing wrong. You have been too quiet, and I'm guessing you have a lot on your mind, so why don't you talk to me, hmm?” He tried to encourage me, but I didn't know what else to say about it.

My mind raced, and I tried to coordinate myself. It seemed like there was already too much to do about it.

"Okay then, why have you been avoiding me?" His questions were hitting me hard, and this time, I noticed how he pushed himself from the bed.

His body was bare, and he only wore trousers, but damn those abs almost made me drool. I shook my head, trying to snap away all the thoughts of everything out of my head, but it seemed she had won today.

“He's such a damn looking man. Damn girl, our mate is–”

“Can you shut the hell up. This is the man that wants to use us for sacrifice to increase his life, and you're busy looking at his abs? Maybe you really want to die."

She growled, and immediately felt his hands on my lower waist that snapped me back to reality. His hands on my waist was supposed to make me feel good, but at the end of the day, I felt a bit disgusted by them.

I pulled away, lowering my head to avoid his questioning gaze. I knew there was a lot involved, but what could I have done?

"Tell me, Nadia, what has gotten you over?” His question hit deep, but I didn't have an answer to that.

“Nothing, I'm just tired, and to rest as well," I answered, hoping he would let me go. That was what I needed now. To be left alone, and to find solutions, to maybe escape.
