74:Fall out
Alaris snarled, his teeth aching as hunger coursed through his veins. His strokes were sensual and yet pleasurable. He had taken her to cloud 9 more than thrice, and he feared her body might not be able to take in the next orgasm. He thrust in and out of her; it was not too slow and not too fast. His head was buried between her neck and her shoulders, and his teeth grazed her delicate skin. His tongue glided over her skin, and her eyes snapped open in realisation of what he was about to do, but she couldn’t stop him. She couldn’t resist it. She hoped he wouldn’t hold back like he has been doing. She hoped he would finally sink his teeth into her and let her experience the feeling of being marked. The pleasure clouded her mind, and all she could think of was the little world she was trapped in. He gripped the couch tightly, his eyes bulging, sweat beaded on his back and forehead as he knotted his seed inside her, filling her as her walls clenched against him in climax, her lips singing his name.
He remained on top of her, his elbow supporting his weight as he listened to her heartbeat. Her heart rate eventually returned to normal, and he raised his head to kiss her deeply.
“You are so sweet.” He husked and kissed her again, then he saw her reach her hand lazily for her neck. A frown appeared on her face, and she gave him a questioning look.
“I didn’t mark you yet.” He said as if answering her silent question, and her expression changed from that of confusion to hurt or perhaps something else.
“My bites are lethal. I don’t want to risk your life.” He explained, sure that she must have misunderstood his first statement.
“What does that mean?” She asked, her voice almost breaking, and she hated it. She’d only been married for three days, and now there is an ache in her chest.
“I didn’t mean to hurt you, Athena, and I don’t want to ever harm you or hurt you.” He breathed and brushed the bottom of her eyes with his thumb, wiping away the tears that had escaped from her pretty hurtful eyes.
He felt a dull ache in his chest, and he pulled her into his arms.
“I should have explained this to you instead of letting your feelings wander. I am holding back from marking you because I don’t want to lose you. My bite can…” He paused and drew in a sharp breath as if he were about to say something that was forbidden.
“My bite can kill you, Athena.” He said forcefully and held her tighter as if she was going to disappear.
“I am an ancient dragon, and you are a baby wolf. My venom is the strongest in the world. I want to be sure it’s safe before I do it. “
“Please understand, Athena.” His voice was pleading, and Athena just stared at the paintings on the wall. It didn’t make sense to her, but she nodded.
“In two days you will become the dragon queen.” He said, bursting her bubbles.
“What!” She exclaimed in disbelief, and he gently pushed her back on the couch.
“You don’t want to be the queen?” He asked her, unsure of why she reacted that way.
“Em… it’s not like that,” she answered, her gaze wavering.
“It’s just that I never thought I would be a queen someday, and I am not sure if I can carry out the duties of a queen perfectly.” She added, and he caressed her face, his eyes filled with affection.
“You don’t have to be perfect at carrying out the duties. All you have to do is wear the crown and leave the rest to me.”
LADYA’S CHAMBER
With irritation she looked at Anna as if she were some garbage.
“You stood there and let her burn you. What do you want me to do? Go fight her?”
“Gosh, Anna. What were you thinking? You buried her alive, and you expected her not to get back at you?” Ladya rolled her eyes and massaged in between her eyebrows. She had more problems and grief than what Anna was going through and wasn’t interested in babysitting her.
“You made your bed, so you might as well lie on it.”
“That witch made me lose my child. Do you think you care about what she did to you?” Ladya snapped, and Anna shook her head. She couldn’t believe that despite everything that she’d done for Ladya, she still treated her as trash.
Anna wiped her tears and raised her head. If Ladya thinks she was having a hard time, then she hoped this would make her day even worse.
“The king secretly married Athena three days ago. Her coronation is in two days.” She said with no remorse, and Ladya, who had been in her for weeks, sprang up to her feet and stormed towards Anna before slapping her hard across the face.
“How could you keep something like that from me!?” Ladya yelled and slapped Anna again.
“Don’t you dare lay a hand on me again!” Anna yelled, holding Ladya’s grip midair.
“How could I tell you when you lay in bed all day looking miserable for your sins and blaming a woman who never had a fight with you? Huh?” Her voice was laced with anger, her eyes blazing with fury, and Ladya couldn’t believe her ears and eyes.
“You have lost, Ladya. Accept it!” She pushed Ladya violently, and she staggered backward.
“Anna!” Ladya called in disbelief, and Anna stopped by the door and looked over her shoulder.
“I am done being your minion. You can go to hell for all I care! You have fallen from glory anyway, and there is nothing left to benefit from you.” She said harshly, her words punching Ladya in the face like a huge blow before the door slammed.
ENDRADO’S MANSION
The door to the bedroom opened, and Endrado hit his stick on the ground.
“Akera!” He called, and Akera turned, the papers falling from his hands.
“How dare you invade my privacy?” Endrado fumed. He was enraged. How could Akera go through his things without permission? What was he looking for, and how long has he been there?
“Privacy? Do you call sleeping with the king’s concubine and getting her pregnant a privacy?” Akera retorted, and Endrado’s face turned into total horror.
