Chapter 50 - Care Bear

Natasha's POV

Valerian kissed me passionately as the sun slowly set.

I opened my eyes and I saw how gorgeous Valerian was under the sun illuminating his face.

I broke off our kiss and moved a little away from him to see his face properly and gosh, I think I'm going to melt seeing how handsome Valerian is. He is so beautiful.

"You look pretty," Valerian said.

We are now staring into each other's faces intently, admiring each other's beauty.

"You handsome devil," I blurted out.

Valerian chuckled upon hearing what I said.

I wanted to apologize for calling him a devil but looks like he was not offended by it. Of course, he thought I was just teasing, he didn't know that that's my little nickname for him.

I mentally chuckled.

"Natasha," Valerian called.

I flashed a little smile. "What is it?"

"I have a question that might make you a little uncomfortable."

My heart started beating fast inside my chest upon hearing what Valerian just said.

Oh fuck.

What is he going to ask and why is it going to make me uncomfortable?

Is it about my family?

My pack?

My hometown?

I practiced the lies I'd already said to him inside my mind— remembering and rehearsing them to make sure I wouldn't mix up the lies I had made.

"What's your question?" I asked, getting myself and my lies ready to answer whatever his question was.

"Do you want to do it here?" Valerian asked.

My forehead automatically creased. "Huh?" I was sure that there was an invisible question mark plastered all around my face as I looked at him full of confusion.

Valerian cleared his throat as he swiftly shifted his gaze from me. He looked straight ahead.

"You know, "it". I want to do "it" here. Right now," Valerian said.

Slowly, the confusion on my face was washed over by shock as I started to realize what he meant.

Oh goodness!

"Oh, you don't mean— do you mean the—" I trailed off, not even able to finish what I wanted to say.

Valerian turned to face me completely.

He nodded.

I felt my cheeks automatically heated up by his response.

"Oh, Valerian!" I exclaimed as I looked at him unbelievably. "Are you serious?"

He nodded once again. "Yeah, I really really want you right now."

"Right here?! Oh, you can't be serious!"

"I'm sorry, darling. Did my question make you uncomfortable?"

Uncomfortable? More like embarrassed and I don't even know why I am the one who is embarrassed, gosh.

I shook my head. "No— I mean, there's a lot of people here right now!"

My eyes roamed the surroundings and I was right.

There are people scattered around enjoying the view. There are even people down the beach and we're literally at the top of a hill.

We can't be putting a show here right now! Gosh, what is Valerian even thinking?

"Do you want me, too?" Valerian asked.

My forehead creased at his question but I eventually nodded my head slowly. "Yeah, but you can't just ask me to do it here, you know. There are literally a lot of people around."

"Do you want me to scare them away?"

My jaw fell open. "What?!"

"Oh, nothing darling." Valerian flashed a sly smile.

"You really are a devil," I blurted out.

Valerian laughed. "Well, I shoot my shot."

"Pervert," I remarked as I grinned.

Valerian laughed even louder. I saw how his shoulders moved up and down as his angelic laugh enveloped my hearing.

Gosh. . . he sounded so heavenly.

I watched Valerian as he laughed and I felt something inside me that I could not put into words. All I know is that I love whatever we have right now at this moment. I love how happy he is. And it's nice to know that somehow, I am the reason for his happiness. I'm the one who is making him laugh.

"But you got to admit that you were considering the thought of doing it here," Valerian said and I felt my cheeks heated up.

"What are you talking about?" I tried to act stupid but Valerian just chuckled at me.

"You were just hesitant because there are people around but I wonder what will happen if we're the only ones here," Valerian added fuel to the fire and I could just slump my face to both my palms. I felt how warm my cheeks were.

Oh gosh!

It's so embarrassing knowing the fact that he was hundred percent right. Everything that Valerian said was true and I know it to myself!

"Hey. Come on, darling. There's nothing to be shy about." Valerian held my hand to remove it from my face but I buried my face deep down into my palm further because I could hear the amusement in his voice.

He can't just tell me that there's nothing to be shy about while laughing at me!

Maybe the reason why I feel so embarrassed except the fact that everything that he was saying was true— is the fact that he makes me feel like a sinner.

Valerian makes me feel like a sinner by making me feel these sinful desires for him and his body.

"Come on now, I will stop teasing you." Valerian removed my hands covering my face. He then held my chin making me face him.

"A pretty face like yours should never be covered." Valerian tucked the hair covering my face behind my ears.

I pursed my lips. "Then stop teasing me."

"Yes, yes, I will stop now, darling."

I can't help but smile.

Gosh, how did Valerian go from a demanding, ruthless devil to a sweet caring softy?

It's like he has multiple personalities.

And I can't deny that I like all of them.

"Do you like beaches?" Valerian suddenly asked as he composed himself and sat up straight.

"I do." I nodded. "There's just something about how the waves crash through the shore. How the ocean can get so aggressive and gets peaceful after."

I noticed how a small smile slipped through Valerian's face.

"Why do you ask?" I questioned.

"Well, darling." Valerian grinned which felt like will be the end of me. How adorable! He looks so excited like a kid getting a new toy and candy. If you told me that Valerian could be this type of person, I would bet my life that I would never ever believe you. But here we are— here am I witnessing everything.

"I'm certain you will love my surprise."

My face automatically brightened. "You have a surprise?!"

I have been nothing but delighted ever since we got here in this country. Gosh, Greece I owe you one.

"Of course, I do." Valerian smiled. "And I'm sure you will love it."

I sure do love surprises but I can't resist it— I have to know what is it about or I'm going to lose my mind.

"Are we going down there?" I asked as I pointed down the beach.

"No," Valerian answered.

I creased my forehead. "Well, you asked me if I love beaches then told me that I'm going to love your surprise so I'm guessing that the surprise will include beaches."

"You're right, darling. But it's not the beach here."

"Are we going somewhere else?" I asked, feeling the excitement that was starting to form inside me.

"We sure are," Valerian replied. "We're going to a place where I know you will love. With much more beautiful beaches and sceneries."

My eyes lightened and my heart was filled with so much delight.

"Where are we leaving then?" I asked, not being able to contain my enthusiasm.

"Do you want to leave now?" Valerian asked.

"We can leave now?!" I asked back, my voice getting louder because of so much excitement inside me.

"Of course, if you'd like."

"Yes, I want to," I answered almost immediately.

"Okay, then. Just give me a few minutes."

Valerian pulled his phone out of his pocket and then dialed.

"Hello? Yes, please prepare it right now. Thank you."

"What was that?" I can't help but ask.

Valerian just flashed a small smile at me. "You'll see."

I groaned internally. I wanted to know what was it about because every time he pulled out his phone and dialed, I always ended up getting surprised by how wealthy he was but it might be also personal and about his business so I can't really ask about it.

Despite everything, I still know my place.

My brain ticked with a little sadness thinking about that but I shrugged it off.

"Let's go," Valerian said as he offered me his hand.

I quickly held his hand.

I noticed how he swiftly intertwined his fingers in mine as he helped me stand up.

He then picked up the mat and folded it using only one hand because he did not for a second let go of my hand.

"Are you excited?" he asked as we walked down the trails of the hill.

"I am. So much," I admitted.

He smiled.
