Chapter 46
Rosalina's Point of View

"Thanks for coming to dinner with me, Rosalina. I am happy we could spend time together," Jason said.

"No problem. I am happy we can spend some time together as well. I always wanted a brother," I replied. Jason had taken me downtown to a steakhouse. We took a limo to the restaurant. When we walked inside, everyone was staring at us. I was sure they were wondering why I was eating dinner with Prince Jason. No one in the pack knew that I was the king's daughter. They thought it would be best not to tell everyone so that my mom wouldn't find out. Everyone was commanded to keep it a secret that the king and queen were here, but they thought it would be a good idea to keep my identity a secret for my protection.

"So how do you feel about everything? I am sure everything must be overwhelming," Jason asked

"Very. I don't know. I am still shocked about everything. My whole life was a lie. I never knew who I really was. My entire life, I was lied to by the person I thought was my mom," I said. It was still hard to believe that the woman I called my mom wasn't. She was my real mom's twin sister, who basically kidnapped me. She faked my death and had everyone thinking I had been killed. The thing that bothered me the most was I didn't understand why should would take me. She didn't treat me the best, so why would she do that just to mistreat me?

"That's understandable. I want you to know that if you ever need anything, you can always come to me," Jason said

"Thanks," I replied. I always wanted a sibling, and I was happy that I had one, and he seemed to really care about me.

"You don't have to thank me, Lina. I am your brother," Jason said, causing me to smile. "I wanted to talk to you about something else," Jason said

"What is that?" I asked

"I am concerned about what Nichole told us about Kane and how he tried to talk to her. That isn't right," Jason said

"Jason, I could tell you are upset but I am sure there is a misunderstanding," Jason said

"Like what? Like she was lying about what he did. I am sure she wouldn't lie about something like that. Plus I have known Kane for a long time. He has never taken the matebon serious. Honestly, He never really wanted to have a mate in the past. I don't want you to get hurt by him." I could tell Jason was really worried about me getting hurt by Kane. He really believed what Nichole had said earlier that day. I wasn't surprised he would believe her. They grew up together.

"I am sure this is a misunderstanding, Jason. Also. the things he did in his past were before he knew me. I can't hold him accountable for them," I said

"I just don't want you hurt. I could talk to him. Make sure he knows the consequences of hurting you," Jason said and I smiled. It felt good having someone care for me.

"I don't need you to do that," I said and Jason sighed

"Fine. You know you are making it hard for me to protect you," Jason said

"Hey, I am the one that should be protecting you. I am the oldest," I replied

"only by a few minutes. Plus, I am your brother. It is a brother's job to protect his sister. Ask mom and dad. They will tell you the same thing," Jason said

"I am sure they will," I replied with a smile

"Hey, Jason. Hey, Rosalina," I looked up to see Nichole walking toward our table

"Nichole, what are you doing here?" Jason asked

"I know the two of you wanted to spend some time together, but I was feeling lonely and decided to meet up with the two of you. I hope you are not upset Rosalina. I mean, I am not really your sister. You might feel like I am in the way," Nichole said. It wasn't hard for me to see that she was trying to play the victim. Make Jason feel sorry for her because she was adopted.

"Of course, she doesn't mind. You can eat with us. Right, Lina?" Jason asked

"Right," I replied. The waitress came over with Jason's and my food and took Nichole's order.

"So, what were the two of you talking about?" Nichole asked

"I was just telling her that I was happy we could spend time together. I am happy we found her," Jason said

"So am I. You have no idea how sad Mom and Dad have been. I can tell they are so happy that you are back," Nichole said

"I am happy as well," I replied

"I wanted to apologize for the things I said earlier, Rosalina. I wasn't trying to come between you and Kane. I just thought you should know. I don't want you getting hurt by him," Nichole said

"I trust Kane, and I know he would never hurt me," I replied

"I hope you are right," Nichole said. The rest of the night wasn't as easygoing as it had been when it had been only Jason and me. Nichole loved to talk and kept finding ways to bring up Kane and the things he used to do before meeting me, and who he did them with. It took so much self control for me to stay calm and not hit the girl.

"I had so much fun, Rosalina. Thanks for letting me crash your dinner with Jason," Nichole said once we were back at the packhouse.

"I already told you it was not a problem, Nichole," Jason said

"Well, I am getting tired. I am going to go back to my room,"I said

"Oh, you don't want to hang out for a while more?" Nichole asked

"Maybe next time. I will see you guys later," I said

"See you tomorrow," Jason said
