Chapter 193 Dirty Tactics

Chapter 193 Dirty Tactics

"Stop pretending! Whether you like Chris or the Cooper family's money, only you know the truth! I won't tolerate someone who bullies my father staying in the Cooper family. If you keep pestering him, don't blame me for calling your parents and having them come pick you up themselves!"

When that happened, it wouldn't just be about Cynthia mistreating David anymore.

The entire Hamilton family would probably have to apologize and compensate the Cooper family, maybe even pay a price.

After saying this, Vincent turned and started to leave.

Cynthia sat there in defeat, not knowing how to react.

Just then, she heard the butler nearby calling Chris on the landline, asking, "Mr. Chris, are you coming home for dinner? Mr. Vincent is back, and he seems to have something to say."

Though Chris sounded impatient on the other end, he still agreed.

"Got it."

Cynthia's eyes lit up as she quickly came up with a plan.

She deliberately bought some aphrodisiac and applied it to herself and a wine glass before Chris came home.

Cynthia knew that if she gave Chris the wine herself, he definitely wouldn't drink it out of caution.

So she found a Cooper family servant, slipped him some money, and told him to give the wine to Chris, saying it was from Vincent.

The servant didn't think much of it and took it right over.

Cynthia stood in the shadows and watched with her own eyes as Chris drank the wine, then returned to her room satisfied to wait.

Before long, there was a loud argument upstairs, and Chris stumbled downstairs and went back to his room.

In the room, Cynthia wore sheer lingerie that revealed a lot of skin, looking at him seductively.

But Chris just glanced at her, quickly shut the door, and demanded, "Why are you in my house?"

Cynthia softened her body and moved closer to Chris, "Of course Uncle Vincent agreed to let me come. Chris, you must be feeling uncomfortable right now. Don't hold back, let's do something fun together, okay?"

Her hand gently touched Chris's face.

Chris's body stiffened and his breathing became rapid.

Looking at Cynthia's face, he swayed, and then it turned into a cold, mocking sneer - it was Joanna's face.

Chris immediately sobered up and pushed Cynthia to the ground.

"Get out! Is this dirty trick all you know how to do?"

Chris took deep breaths for a long time, trying to calm his burning emotions.

He knew he couldn't stay in this room any longer.

So after pushing Cynthia away, Chris stumbled out, randomly flagged down a car on the street, and went to the hospital.

Cynthia wanted to chase after him but realized she was dressed too revealing and hesitated.

But she didn't want to miss this opportunity, so after a brief hesitation, she still went after him.

When she saw Chris getting in the car from a distance, her expression turned almost desperate.

Cynthia tried to run after him but couldn't catch up with the car at all. She fell to the ground in defeat.

Just as Cynthia was in despair, she suddenly heard several men's sleazy voices.

They rubbed their hands together, staring at Cynthia's nearly naked body.

"Well, well, why is there a pretty girl out here without clothes? Are you on some mysterious mission from your master?"

Hearing this, Cynthia's face turned red with anger as she scolded them, "Don't come near me."

But these men had been drinking and weren't going to leave just because of a few words from Cynthia.

They laughed, and one of them said, "A woman who comes to us on her own - we'd be fools not to have some fun. Leave now? You think I'm stupid?"

With that, he lunged at Cynthia and dragged her toward a hidden corner.

"Help! Get off me! Chris, save me..."

Cynthia kept screaming, hoping someone would come save her.

But this wasn't a busy area to begin with - running into a few drunk thugs was already unusual.

Being dragged away by these men, she was destined to not escape being raped.

Cynthia went from screaming and struggling to desperate surrender, her body numbly enduring the abuse from several men, her eyes gradually losing their light.

It wasn't until dawn when the men left that she looked at the rising sun, her eyes filled with insane viciousness.

"Joanna, Chris, it's all because of you that I've become like this! If it weren't for you, I'd be a wealthy wife now. How could I have been bullied by a bunch of thugs? I'll never let you get away with this!"

After her vicious words, Cynthia staggered away and never returned to the Cooper family.

Meanwhile, Joanna, who had escaped from the airport, had no idea about Cynthia's miserable situation.

She was currently pinned against the door by Angelo, who was jealously nibbling on her neck.

Joanna tilted her head back helplessly, her pleading voice soft and alluring.

"Angelo... I was wrong. I just forgot to tell you, I really didn't talk to Chris on purpose."

Angelo knew of course that Joanna wouldn't pay attention to Chris anymore.

He was just angry - angry that when he wasn't around, Chris tried every way to insert himself into Joanna's life.

What started as angry biting gradually turned into aggrieved kissing.

Angelo's breathing became rapid. "Joanna... when are we getting married?"

Though the engagement was rushed, it was still a fairly formal process.

But the two of them had never had time to discuss the wedding date.

Perhaps Joanna wanted to avoid it for a while longer.

But Angelo couldn't wait anymore.

"Angelo," Joanna blushed, her eyes glistening with moisture, "you decide."

They had been dating for a while now, both sets of parents had met, and they'd had the engagement ceremony.

Joanna wasn't being precious about needing Angelo to propose before agreeing to marriage. In fact, in her eyes, whether they got married or not didn't affect her feelings for Angelo, and she believed Angelo felt the same way.

But if only marriage could give Angelo a sense of security, she was willing to choose marriage and use the law to bind both their actions.

Hearing this answer, Angelo's first reaction wasn't happiness, but to carefully observe Joanna's expression.

After watching closely, he asked carefully, "Joanna, you're not just saying that to make me feel better, are you? Actually, I'm not that angry, I'm just a bit insecure and wanted to hear from you that we'll definitely get married. If you're not ready to get married yet, I can wait for you."

Joanna shook her head and said seriously, "Angelo, I'm ready."
