Chapter 194 Wedding

Chapter 194 Wedding

Joanna reached out and wrapped her arms around Angelo's neck, standing on her tiptoes to give him a kiss. When she tried to pull away, Angelo wasn't satisfied and kept going.

Angelo held Joanna, letting her legs wrap around his waist.

The two quickly made it to the bedroom. The atmosphere was heating up, and Joanna didn't push Angelo away. Everything happened naturally.

He lowered his head, moving down from Joanna's neck as they held each other tightly.

The air was hot and heavy. The dim yellow light made Joanna's vision a bit hazy. Her gaze grew more and more unfocused as she lost herself in the closeness of the moment.

All night long, Joanna felt like her body didn't belong to her anymore. She was sore everywhere.

While she had to admire Angelo's stamina, she couldn't help feeling a bit scared about her married life ahead.

After confirming their wedding plans, both Angelo and Joanna got busy.

But their busy schedules were different.

Angelo put his whole heart into preparing every detail of the wedding. From choosing the wedding dress to finalizing the hotel arrangements, he didn't let Joanna worry about anything.

Joanna, on the other hand, was making the most of every moment, working hard to prepare for winning awards.

She currently had a great opportunity to work with the research institute on practical research for new medications.

If she could solve a major disease treatment challenge, she could win the highest honor award.

Joanna's plan for this was three years.

Her teacher had placed such high hopes in her, and she couldn't let him down.

So Joanna kept running back and forth between her hospital work and the new drug research. If Angelo hadn't reminded her about the wedding arrangements every day, Joanna would have almost forgotten she was about to get married.

On the wedding day, Angelo invited Sandra and Victor back to the country early.

As Joanna's family, they saw her off at the hotel.

Chad also rarely wore a suit, his eyes red as he sent Joanna off to be married, "I'm sorry, Joanna. I was immature before and caused you a lot of trouble. Now I know how hard it is to make money. From now on, you can live with your husband without worry. I'll work hard to earn money for Mom's medical expenses."

Whether Chad's words were just to make her happy or if he was serious, at least in that moment they were worth being happy about.

Joanna reached out and ruffled his hair, just like when they were little, not holding her brother's mistakes against him.

Sandra was also very happy to see her children getting along. She knew Joanna must have suffered a lot inside, so in the days ahead, she would do everything she could to make it up to her daughter.

Victor, as their uncle, gave the same gifts to both his niece and nephew.

He prepared many gifts for Joanna, including a villa in Austin City and an estate in Valeria.

Joanna wanted to refuse at first, "This is too expensive, I can't accept it."

But Sandra pushed the property deeds into Joanna's hands, her eyes red, "Joanna, just take them. This is your grandfather and uncle making it up to you."

Joanna paused and asked Sandra, "Mom, did you remember something?"

Sandra nodded, her eyes a bit sad, "I really am Idris's daughter. I got lost by accident years ago and was trafficked to Henry. He bought me for a few hundred dollars, and from then on I was tied to the Jones family. I'm so lucky to have such an excellent daughter like you. You not only escaped that hell yourself, but also helped me make a choice. Joanna, if there's another life, I'd love to be your mother again, but I hope you'll be born into a warm and happy family and won't have to suffer so much."

Joanna's eyes turned red. Just as she was about to wipe her tears, Fiona suddenly came over and joked, "The bride can't cry, or you'll mess up your makeup."

Everyone laughed.

Joanna's sad feelings instantly disappeared.

Soon, someone from the groom's side came to hurry them along.

"Is the bride ready?"

"Yes, yes!"

Sandra wiped her tears, and she and Chad each took one of their daughter's arms to walk her down the aisle.

The grand and heartfelt wedding made all the guests sigh, "They really look perfect together."

Linda and Luke also brought friends to attend, smiling and toasting each other.

"Joanna really married into happiness this time."

"Happy wedding!"

Under the blessing gazes of friends and family, Joanna walked toward Angelo.

"You look beautiful in your wedding dress," Angelo praised generously. "Just like the scene I've imagined countless times."

Joanna lowered her head shyly, her eyes full of happiness.

After the simple vows and exchange of rings, the minister said, "Now, the groom may kiss his bride."

Just as Angelo was about to kiss her, someone rushed in from the crowd.

Chris's eyes were red, unable to accept that Joanna had chosen to marry Angelo.

He wanted to stop the wedding.

But after seeing the wedding Angelo had put so much thought into for Joanna, he broke down and downed several drinks.

"Joanna, I never thought I'd be the one saying these words wishing you happiness."

He smiled bitterly.

But he still raised his glass toward the couple and closed his eyes, "Thank you for teaching me that love needs to be expressed, and thank you for accepting everything about me. I hope you'll be happy, but I'm also afraid you won't be. If Angelo ever hurts you, remember to look back at me, still waiting in the same place."

With that, he downed his drink in one gulp and turned to leave.

Angelo didn't care about this sudden interruption. Instead, he held Joanna's chin, making her focus on him.

"I won't give him that chance."

With that, he lowered his head and kissed Joanna deeply.

Petals fell from the sky, and colorful smoke rose into the air.

All the guests applauded and cheered for this happy moment.

No one noticed the loser in the corner.

Happiness was frozen in this moment.

Everyone believed they would definitely be happy and stay together forever.
