Chapter 38: You Can Let Her Be on Top

Chapter 38: You Can Let Her Be on Top

She was going to kiss William.

After all, it wasn't like they hadn't kissed before.

William was gay, so she'd just think of it as kissing a woman.

She lowered her head and beckoned to William with her finger.

William's heart leaped with joy, and he cooperatively leaned his face toward Victoria.

His alluring eyes stared intently at Victoria's flushed face—clearly, he was looking forward to this kiss.

Just as Victoria closed her eyes, puckered her red lips, and was about to plant a kiss on William's face, the door to the private room was pushed open.

A server came in with the meals they had ordered.

Victoria frantically adjusted her posture and sat up properly, afraid the server might notice something.

William's face, on the other hand, showed extreme disappointment.

This server's timing was really terrible—couldn't she have waited at least three more minutes? Why did she have to come in at that particular moment??

Was he really going to lose this kiss?

Since William's moment had been interrupted, Kyle stopped hiding by the door. With a smile on his face, he walked into the private room.

"William."

He greeted William first, then turned his attention to Victoria.

"Victoria, hello!"

The warmth hadn't yet faded from Victoria's face. Hearing Kyle's greeting, she forgot to respond for a moment.

Seeing Victoria's flushed face, William's smile was obvious.

These days, to still see such a shy woman—he was truly lucky.

Everyone sat down, drinking and chatting happily. After dinner, Kyle suggested they all go sing karaoke and drink.

Victoria had always lived a regular life and wasn't particularly fond of nightlife, but since everyone wanted to go, she didn't want to spoil the fun. Soon, the group arrived at a bar.

Victoria had some drinks and was feeling slightly tipsy. After whispering something to William, she went to the restroom to wash her face.

Just as she reached the restroom entrance, she was spotted by Jerry, who had both arms in casts.

A few days ago, Jerry had grabbed Victoria at the restaurant entrance and was caught by Kyle, who, following William's instructions, broke one of his arms.

Last night, he had been lying in wait at the hotel room, expecting Eddy to deliver Victoria to his bed. Instead, someone had tied him up, thrown him in the bathroom, and locked him in there all night.

In the middle of the night, someone else broke into the hotel room and broke his other arm too.

The identity of his attacker was unknown.

Jerry wasn't willing to let such a huge loss go. He went to check the hotel's surveillance footage, wanting to know who had ruined his plans and beaten him up so badly.

Ridiculously, in such a large hotel, the surveillance footage had disappeared.

He couldn't find any clues at all.

Having suffered this loss for nothing, he was very unwilling to accept it. With both broken arms in slings, he came to the bar to discuss with his buddies - he had to find the mastermind who broke his arms.

Who would have thought that as soon as he arrived, he'd see Victoria.

The woman he hadn't been able to get.

Jerry had a male friend with him, Tony.

When he saw Victoria, Tony was surprised for a moment, then joked,

"Jerry, isn't that the woman your dad wanted you to marry?"

Hearing this, Jerry immediately complained.

"Don't fucking mention it, I can't marry her now. I had two chances to get her, and neither worked out."

Tony scoffed disdainfully, "I don't believe it. In this city, there's a woman you can't get?"

"How about tonight we figure out a way to get this woman into your bed?"

"She looks like the pure and innocent type - she'd be really fun to play with."

Hearing Tony's suggestion, Jerry was tempted, but thinking about his mysteriously broken arms, his courage vanished.

Victoria must have hooked up with some mysterious power.

His current miserable state was definitely caused by the mysterious force behind her.

He'd already lost both arms - he couldn't lose his legs too just because of lust.

In front of Tony, Jerry didn't want to be looked down on. He stiffened his neck and said, "Are you fucking blind? Both my hands are in casts right now. Even if you put her in my bed, I'd be powerless, wouldn't I?"

Tony laughed and said, "Jerry, you could let her be on top?"

"Fuck off." Jerry cursed at Tony.

The two of them hid in the shadows, watching Victoria come out of the restroom and head straight for William and Kyle, who were sitting in a corner of the bar.

Kyle had many connections in this city, and quite a few people had met him. The bar lighting was dim, and he had his back to Jerry's direction, so Jerry couldn't see his face clearly.

William, on the other hand, was sitting across from Kyle. Seeing Victoria approach, he smiled and reached out to her, gesturing for Victoria to sit beside him.

Victoria obediently complied. She knew that William was being so warm to her in front of his friends only to hide the fact that he was gay.

She had to cooperate.

The two of them raised their glasses and interacted affectionately.

This scene was witnessed clearly by Jerry and Tony.

Tony asked, "Jerry, who's that guy? He looks unfamiliar to me."

Jerry stared at William intently, trying to remember who he was. Unfortunately, William had always been abroad and kept a low profile—very few people in this city knew him.

Anyone Jerry didn't recognize must be a nobody.

Was Victoria blind? Refusing to marry him, the heir of the Nelson family, and instead becoming that man's sugar baby?

Aside from being slightly less good-looking and looking a bit weaker than that guy, what was he lacking?

No way, he wasn't going to swallow this insult so easily.

After spending half the night with William and having some drinks, Victoria rode in William's car back to his villa.

Quinn had finished her work and had already gone back to her room in the back yard to rest.

They both entered the house, said goodnight, and went to their respective rooms.

She reeked of alcohol and needed to freshen up before sleeping. Victoria had just showered and changed into her pajamas, and hadn't yet lain down, when she saw her phone on the bed ringing.

She picked it up and saw it was Ethan calling.

Since breaking up with Ethan, Victoria hadn't contacted him at all. She didn't care about him any longer, but she had forgotten to block his number.

She hadn't expected Ethan to actually contact her after that.

Victoria lay down and answered the phone.

As soon as she spoke, Ethan's roar came through the receiver.

"Victoria, you're so shameless, going home with William?"
