Chapter 229 BONUS CHAPTER 14 (TALIA)
I gaped in amazement as we arrived at the floating restaurant. It was truly beautiful, just as Cielo had said. The floor was made of thick glass, so walking on it felt like I was walking on the sea. The interior was in shades of red and gold. Classical music played melodiously throughout the restaurant. A waiter greeted us and then showed us to our table.
“Wow, this place is truly beautiful. No wonder the waiting list is so long.”
“It was all worth the patience.”
Our table was on the balcony overlooking the open sea. The starry sky served as our roof. A gentle breeze caressed my face, blowing strands of my hair. Cielo's gaze never left mine, as if he cared only for me and ignored everyone else.
“Don't look at me like that.”
“Why? I never get tired of looking at you.”
“You're embarrassing me.”
I turned my head away, taking in the view around our table. Lanterns emitting golden light stood in every corner of the balcony. It was the perfect setting for dinner.
The waiter who had shown us to our table arrived shortly after with a bottle of wine and canapés.
“Enjoy. Mr. Morgan has already ordered several dishes for tonight. Would you like to order anything else?”
I smiled at Cielo.
“No. My husband knows my favorite foods well. He won't disappoint me.”
"Then we'll serve you the food right away."
I took a slow sip of the wine. The lingering taste in my mouth was rich. I could tell it was a top-quality wine.
"Say something, Cielo. You haven't said anything since we left our suite. All you do is stare at me."
He still said nothing, just staring at me. I rubbed the back of my neck, which was prickling from his stare.
"You know, your stare is very creepy."
"It's exactly what I've needed to scare my enemies."
"But I'm your wife, not your enemy."
He sighed softly.
"I don't feel the need to say anything right now. All I want is to look at you. I want to spend the night admiring my incredibly beautiful wife."
"Oh God!" I groaned, my cheeks flushing even redder at his syrupy-sweet words.
"Tell me you're not saying that to keep me up all night, are you? Even though sex with you is amazing, I can't handle it all night."
"No. I'm not that crazy."
"You are."
The waiter returned and wheeled a food cart toward our table. There were two covered trays on top of it. I couldn't see what was inside, but from the look on Cielo's face, I was sure it was something I'd like.
"I wonder what you ordered for me."
I couldn't wait to open the lid as soon as the waiter placed the trays on the table.
"Open them. Those are just appetizers."
"Wow, really? How many dishes did you order tonight?"
"Not much, but enough to satisfy your appetite."
I rubbed my palms before opening the lid. My heart pounded as I lifted it. My breath caught in my throat when I found a box with a red ribbon underneath the lid.
"Cielo... What's this?"
"What does it look like?"
I stared at it with a frown.
"Is this a gift for me?"
“Happy anniversary, baby. I hope you like my gift.”
“What’s this?”
I shook the box. There was a rustling sound coming from inside.
“I thought you were going to give me the gift after dinner.”
“I have a lot of gifts for you. This is just a warm-up.”
“Okay, let’s see what’s inside this box.”
I slowly unwrapped the ribbon, not wanting to damage the beautiful box. The box looked expensive. It was black with silver glitter. I opened the lid. My breath hitched when I found a bracelet with emeralds sitting at the bottom of the box.
“The first thing that came to my mind when I saw the bracelet was your eyes. The stones are the same color as yours.”
“It’s so beautiful, Cielo.”
I fanned my watery eyes.
“This must be expensive.”
“There’s nothing more expensive in this world than your love for me and the kids.”
“Gosh, you said you’re not a romantic man. But when you are, you make me melt like butter on a hot pan.”
“It’s our anniversary. I try to be a romantic man. May I?”
“Oh, sure.”
Cielo put the bracelet on my wrist. The emeralds glistened beautifully in the lamplight.
“The second gift.”
My palm flew to my mouth as Cielo thrust another box at me.
“How many gifts have you prepared? You’re making me feel guilty for not preparing any for you.”
“You are the greatest gift I have ever received. I don’t need any more.”
I opened the silver box with a red ribbon, my heart pounding. I couldn't guess what gifts Cielo had prepared because his gifts were always so unexpected.
"What's this? A key?"
I lifted the brass key, the size of Cielo's palm. I ran my fingers through it and found inscriptions carved into its surface.
"TS Hotel and Resort?"
"Talia Sanders Hotel and Resort. The hotel we're staying at is yours."
I stared at Cielo. Speechless. I wanted to say he was joking, but seeing the seriousness on his face, I was certain he wasn't.
"That luxury hotel? It’s mine?"
Cielo nodded, then pulled a brown envelope from his jacket pocket. He handed it to me.
"This is a copy of the document stating that you are the legal owner of the TS Hotel and Resort."
I couldn't hold back my tears as I read every word printed on the paper. Cielo wasn't lying. The TS Hotel and Resort was truly mine. I was the CEO of the hotel.
“Wow. This is so wow.”
My voice was hoarse. My mind was blank. I couldn’t think of a single word.
“You like it?”
I nodded.
“Since when?”
“A year ago. I’ve wanted to build a hotel for you for a long time. But it had to be postponed for two years because of my busy schedule.”
"I used to be just a receptionist. I don't know how to run a hotel, let alone be a CEO."
I took a tissue from my purse and dabbed it around my eyes. I was afraid of ruining my makeup. But in fact, I had already ruined it with my tears.
“You’re no ordinary receptionist. You have the talent to run a hotel. My instincts are never wrong. I’m sure the hotel will thrive under your leadership. I’ll take you to meet the hotel’s general manager whenever you’re ready.”
I walked around our table and threw myself into Cielo’s arms. I burst into tears instantly, sobbing into his chest.
“I feel like I don’t deserve all of this. This is too much for me.”
“No, baby. You deserve it.”
Cielo cupped my face. His thumb gently wiped the tears from my cheek.
"You could be so much more than this if I hadn't forced you to be my wife. This is the least I can do for you."
He cradled me in his lap, his expression solemn.
"On our fourth wedding anniversary, I vowed to you that I would be a better man. I'm not a romantic, but I want to strive to be one for you. I want to give the whole world to you and our kids, because you are the most beautiful gift in my life."
"You are also the most beautiful gift in my life, Cielo. I never regret meeting you that day. All those tears, anger, and bitterness have led us to eternal happiness. So yeah, all I can do now is be grateful."
"I love you, Mrs. TS."
"Oh, I can't believe I'm a CEO now. I love you too, my crime lord!"
I almost kissed him on the lips, but the waiter came back with a cart full of gifts.
"Sorry to interrupt. I'm sending gifts to Mrs. Morgan. There are still two more carts in the lobby."
I stared at Cielo, my mouth agape.
"I told you I had lots of gifts for you."
"Cielo! You're truly something. I love you, my crime lord."
