Chapter 228 BONUS CHAPTER 13 (TALIA)
“Thank you for looking after Celine and Zaiden while we were in Florida.”
“Never mind. We loved playing with them.”
My mother and mother-in-law waved at the camera as I video-called them. They were gathered in Zaiden's room, sitting on the carpet with Zaiden's toys scattered across the carpet. Celine was lying on her playmat. She looked so happy, her hands clenched into fists, her tiny feet tapping the air. It had only been two days, but I already missed my children. My eyes welled up with tears as I looked at them. I wanted to fly back to NYC right then and there to hug them.
"They're safe with us. You have fun with Cielo in Florida."
"I miss them, Mom."
My mother called Zaiden, and my boy immediately screamed excitedly into the camera.
"Mommy. Grandma and I built Legos today. Look at my Legos."
Cielo had just gotten out of the bathroom. He raised his eyebrows at his son's excitement. I gestured to him that Zaiden was showing me his Legos.
"Wow, nice. Good job, baby boy."
“I'm not a baby, mom! I'm a big brother.”
We all laughed at his pouting face. Ever since Celine was born, he'd refused to be called a baby boy. He loved being a big brother and doted on his little sister.
"Okay, you're not a baby anymore. You're the best big brother ever. Take care of Celine while Mom and Dad are in Florida, okay?"
"Okay. Where's Daddy?"
"Right here."
Cielo took my phone and motioned for me to get ready. Tonight we were having dinner at a floating restaurant. The restaurant was built on thick glass and perched right above the ocean. To get there, our hotel driver would take us to the pier, then we'd take a yacht ride for about fifteen minutes. Cielo had already made reservations for us, and I had a feeling he had another surprise in store for me tonight.
While Cielo was busy listening to Zaiden's chatter, I put on my makeup and put on a black dress in the bathroom. I'd bought the dress last minute before we left for Florida through Cielo's buyer. It had a halter neck and was backless. The cleavage was so deep, I felt like my breasts were going to spill out in that dress. But for our anniversary, I wanted to wear something sexy and revealing.
Cielo looked up from his phone when he heard the click of my heels. The corners of his lips quirked into a smirk as he scanned me from head to toe.
“I assume you’re satisfied with what you see?”
He walked over to me. His adoring gaze was genuine. He wasn’t faking it to please me. Something in his gaze made me melt.
“You look absolutely gorgeous.”
He lingered on my bare shoulder. His arms wrapped around my hips, pulling me closer to him.
“How’s Zaiden?”
“Happy. His two grandmothers spoil him, plus Jeff and Marina. He’s living in heaven.”
“And what about Zaiden’s Daddy?”
“Happy too.”
His lips trailed across my collarbone, then moved down to the crook of my neck. I closed my eyes, feeling the tickling sensation of his warm breath.
“I fucking want to stay in a hotel and chain you to the bed.”
“Why not?”
“Because I have a surprise for you tonight. So we can’t skip it for sex.”
“Wow, for the first time, there’s something more precious than sex.”
“I can’t be late in giving you our anniversary gift like last year. Let’s go, before I can’t keep my hands off you.”
I chuckled at his pained expression.
“We’ll do it after dinner. I promise. I didn’t prepare any gifts for you, so consider it a gift.”
“I don’t like you giving me gifts, but for this one, I couldn’t refuse.”
“I know you well.”
I kissed his lips softly before we walked out of our suite. Countless pairs of eyes watched us as we walked through the lobby. I wasn’t used to people staring at me, but after marrying Cielo, I’ve gotten used to the spotlight. I walked straight ahead with my chin held high, my hand wrapped around Cielo’s arm possessively.
A black limousine was waiting for us at the lobby door. The driver immediately opened the door for us after greeting us politely.
“Enjoy your ride, Mr. and Mrs. Morgan.”
“Thank you.”
There was no conversation during the drive to the pier. I really enjoyed the silence, and so did Cielo. His palms wrapped tightly around mine. My back rested against Cielo's chest, while my head rested on his shoulder. We were at peace.
When we arrived at the pier, a yacht attendant immediately greeted us and directed us to board the yacht. It was a large, three-story yacht. I didn't have time to tour it because we were only on the yacht for a short time. The attendant immediately escorted us to the lounge on the second floor. They provided a welcome drink and some snacks for us. I chose a chocolate-covered strawberry, while Cielo just had a scotch.
"It would be fun if we took Zaiden and Celine sailing on the yacht when we returned to NYC."
"I was planning to take them sailing next weekend."
"Zaiden would love it. He's been really into fish lately."
"Mom is taking him and Celine to Sea World tomorrow. They are definitely having a great time with their two grandmothers."
After ten minutes of sailing, I was amazed by the view before me. It was the most beautiful restaurant I'd ever been to.
“The view is beautiful. Look at the lights from that floating restaurant.”
“It really is a beautiful place.”
“Thanks for making my wish of having dinner there come true. I heard they have a long waiting list.”
“That place belongs to one of my clients. It’s not hard to get a table there,” Cielo said smugly.
“Okay, Mr. Banker. Your influence is no joke. You can get anything with just a snap of your fingers.”
“It’s not always like that. I couldn’t win your love with just a snap of my fingers.”
I grinned at him.
“Yeah, it did take more than a snap of your fingers.”
