Third Person's POV

In a well-decorated room with flowers and candles, a woman in her late twenties was laying on the bed, wearing comfy cartoon-printed night pyjamas. The room looked like a wedding night room for newly wedded couples. But except for the Mehendi on the woman's hand and a little bit of sindoor(vermillion) on the woman's forehead, there was nothing that could identify the woman as the newly wedded bride.

The door of the room opened and a man in his mid-thirties entered. He had a handsome face, a sharp nose, kissable lips, and dark black eyes, his chin area was covered with a trimmed beard and he had a thin moustache. His look was the perfect definition of every woman's dream husband. His skin colour was also perfect. Neither very fair nor very dark. He had a perfect skin colour. He could have been the man every woman wants as her husband. Everything was perfect except…he was in a wheelchair.

Pushing the wheelchair, Vihaan came near the bed where his newly wedded wife was laying on her stomach while scrolling through her phone, completely ignoring his presence.

To get attention from her, he made some sounds by clearing his throat. But still, there was no movement of her. She was completely immersed in the phone. Vihaan again made a similar sound. But again there was no response from her. Then Vihaan made a loud fake coughing sound.

This time she half sat up while turning back to Vihaan with raised eyebrows and said with an irritated tone " if your throat is tingling, just have some water and if it still doesn't stop then have medicine. Why are you making a sound like a frog, without doing anything? Drink some water."

Saying this she again concentrated on her mobile phone, completely ignoring Vihaan’s existence.

Vihaan just stared at his newly wedded wife with a flabbergasted expression for some minutes.

" Trisha, don't you have any responsibilities as my wife?" - Vihaan asked.

Trisha looked back at Vihaan as if he lost his mind. " Do you have amnesia?" - Trisha asked with a squinted face.

" What? Why would I have amnesia?" - Vihaan asked with an offended tone.

"Then why are you talking about my responsibilities as a wife? Have you forgotten our marriage is a contract marriage?" - Trisha replied with an irritated tone and again looked back to her phone.

" So, what? Just because our marriage is a contract marriage, you will not fulfil your duties?" - Vihaan said.

Trisha didn't pay much attention to Vihan, she just gave him some side glances.

" Hey! Don't ignore me…I am your husband. Just because I am a disabled person, you are not giving any importance to my existence! Though I am used to this kind of behaviour, you are my wife, at least you don't do the same thing with me." -Vihaan said with a doleful expression.

This time Trisha finally sat up from her laying position and faced Vihaan with a serious expression.

“Listen, Vihaan, don’t try to act pitiful in front of me. Disabled people are more capable than you. First of all, even if you were really a disable person, I would not fulfil any duties of a wife because we both know, our marriage is a contract marriage and I am not obliged to fulfil any duties, do you understand?”

Vihaan squinted his eyes and asked, “ what do you mean by ‘If I were a disable’?”

“ What else could I mean? You are not a disable person. Don’t worry your secret is safe with me. I know you must have some reason to pretend like one. I will not tell anyone.” - Trisha replied with a small smile on her face.

“ I think you have lost your mind.” - Vihaan said with a straight face.

“ oh! Really! So are you trying to say, you are really disabled, you cannot walk!” - Trisha said in a challenging way.

“Of course, when I cannot walk, how can I say I can walk?” - Vihaan answered.

“ Fine! Let’s see who is right and who is not.” - Trisha replied with a smug smile on her face while gazing over something at a  distance.
