Chapter 61 I will teach you how to hunt.
Arel
I left the party in a bad mood and locked myself inside my office. I had no idea what to do anymore.
I grabbed the whisky bottle from the liquor cabinet in the corner and poured some into my glass.
The burn in my throat helped settle my mind, but only for a second. Once that burn went away, her face came right back into my head.
Goddess, what did I do wrong?
I spent the next twenty minutes in complete silence until I could not take it anymore.
"Leona." I sent her a mindlink.
"Arel. Oh, Goddess." Her voice came out rough, and fuck, it sounded so seductive.
What the hell? Was she moaning?
A smile crept onto my face as I opened my window and jumped out. I headed toward where my help might be needed. Looked like this girl was hard to satisfy. I needed to work twice as hard.
In no time, I threw myself up onto the small roof outside her bedroom window. Lucky for me, her curtains were open. The soft light from her lamp lit up the whole room.
There she was. My girl. Wearing my shirt with her hand inside her underwear. My cock went hard at the sight of her. Shit.
I crouched outside her window with a hard dick like some fucking teenager watching his crush touch herself. I did not regret anything. If anything, I would do this again. Especially after hearing her moan my name when she came.
Sweat formed on my forehead. I sat on the roof away from the window. I thought about what to do next while trying to calm my dick down.
"Leona?" I tried again.
"What?" She snapped right away. "Oh, Goddess. Did you mindlink me earlier? I mean, maybe five minutes ago?" Her voice sounded hoarse but low.
"Yes, I did." I held back a smile. "Do you want to go for a run?" I knew she already said no before, but I wanted time with her. And I did not think she would let me inside her room.
"Um, I am tired. But okay. Only because I want to spend time with Rogue." She added that last part like she needed a reason for saying yes.
My wolf perked up at that. He showed me his fangs and beamed.
"Okay," I said short.
"I will meet you at the forest line in front of my house. There are probably people at the pack house. I do not want them to see me there."
"I am already here. Outside your window." I pressed my lips together, trying to act normal.
Leona
"I am already here. Outside your window," he said.
My eyes went wide and shot toward my window. Shit. The curtains were open. I stormed over and flung the window open.
He sat on the roof with his back to me. He turned around right away when I opened it. I glared at him.
"How long have you been sitting there?" I asked in a low voice, even though I was shaking. Angry or embarrassed, I did not know which. Did he see me?
He stood up and came into the room. I did not get a chance to stop him. He was already inside, closing the window and pulling the curtains shut.
"Maybe five or ten minutes."
"You are lying." The words came out fast, and my cheeks got hot.
He just shrugged.
"What were you doing there?" I slapped my palm against his chest. He just took it. Did not move at all. He gave me this smug smirk.
"I thought you called me. So I came."
My jaw dropped.
"But when I got here, it looked like you did not need my help anymore. So I just waited until you finished."
"You fucking jerk. Pervert. I hate you." My cheeks were burning now. I kept hitting his chest, trying to push him toward the window. But damn this man. I could not make him move.
He put his hands up like he was giving up. "Easy. It was not a bad thing. I do the same thing all the time."
I glared at him and hissed. But he kept going. "I think of you all the time. So we are even. Okay? Let us move on."
"No. Get out."
"Leona."
"Get out." I raised my hand and pointed at the window.
He grabbed my hand. Before I could stop him, he licked my finger. The same one I used on myself. I tried to pull it back, but he held on tight.
"Hmm. Just wanted to taste the fruit of my…" He teased me again with that smug grin. It made me even more furious.
I pulled my hand away to slap him. But he caught it and kissed it instead.
Damn these sparks. They make me weak and clingy.
"Let us run. Rogue wants to play with Rain." He asked me for real this time. His eyes went soft as he looked at me.
I pulled away from him and let out a long sigh. I owe this one to Rain.
Instead of answering, I walked toward the door and turned my head just a little. "Be careful with your steps. Dad is sleeping."
But before I could guess what he was going to do, he came toward me and scooped me up in his arms. "We will go through the window," he said, calm as anything, and opened it with one hand.
I tried to wiggle free. I did not want to jump off the roof. But he already pushed me out the window.
"What are you doing?" I hissed at him as he came out. "I am not jumping down."
"You are not. I am." He gave me that smug grin again and pulled me into his arms. "Do not scream. Just close your eyes."
Then he jumped. No more warning. He landed perfectly on the ground below. My hands clutched his shirt. My face pressed against his neck so I would not scream.
I looked around in the dark night, expecting him to put me down. But instead, he ran toward the forest line. When we got there, he finally set me on my feet.
"We can change here. It is not far from your house." I nodded and went behind the nearest tree. I took my clothes off and called for Rain to come forward.
"Have you changed yet?" Arel asked in my mind.
"Yes," I said. Before I could step out, a big, beautiful wolf came forward with his shirt and pants in his mouth. He came around me and put his clothes next to mine.
Rain made a soft sound and faced Rogue. She put her nose to his. Then she stuck out her tongue and licked his face.
I heard him make a soft sound back. He lowered his head so my wolf could reach him. Rain licked all over his face.
When she was done, I stepped back and turned around. I walked toward the middle of the forest and wagged my tail at him.
I heard his paws hit the ground. Soon he was right next to me, pressing his body against mine.
"Run, Rain. I will watch over you."
I did not answer. I just ran. I let my wolf run under the moon with him behind me. I did not know how long I ran or where I was going. He just let me go. But he caught up with me eventually. I let Rain play with Rogue while I sat in the back of her mind.
They both deserved this.
"I will teach you how to hunt."
"Why?"
"You never know when you might need it. And so you do not get grossed out when you see animal blood."
Over the next few minutes, he told me what to do. How to sneak up on prey. Where to bite so it would not be bloody. He said I could always go for the kill, like when we fight rogues. But if I wanted to eat the animal in human form, I should try not to destroy it.
So we went looking through the forest for something to catch. It did not take long. I heard movement in the bushes a few feet away. Leaves rustled. A small foot padded across the ground. He must have heard it too because his eyes were already fixed on that spot.
I followed his lead. We snuck through the tall grass and bushes, watching the thing move. I looked at Rogue. He gave me a small nod. Then I moved.
I flicked my tail and jumped at the rabbit. It had its back to us.
I grabbed it by the throat and held on until it stopped moving. I did not let go until there was nothing left.
