Chapter 52 My pants twitched the moment she bent down to warm up

My alarm went off and I forced my eyes open. Just laid there staring at the ceiling for a minute before reaching over to shut it up. Then I got up and headed to the bathroom to get ready for the day. Splashed some water on my face to wake myself up first, then did my normal morning stuff.

Like every other day, I needed to be on the training ground working my ass off. Besides learning new things, I loved having a fit body and feeling healthier from all these workouts. I did not get tired as fast anymore, and my senses felt sharper.

I ran out of my room wearing a black sports bra and tight leggings that hugged my legs and hips just right. My hair went up in a high ponytail so I could move around easier. Arel said once that it showed off my cheekbones pretty well.

Not that Arel came around often. But he did show up sometimes, and I wanted to be something nice to look at when he did. I knew he was still fighting the mate bond, but maybe if I pushed a little more, he would finally give in.

After Alpha Cyrus's party, we barely talked on the drive home. It got even more awkward because he made the Beta ride with us. Beta Finn dominated the whole conversation with me and Arel. Arel just answered his questions with yes or no.

I had no idea what was going on in his head. Not once did he look at me during that whole car ride. And let me tell you, it was a two hour drive.

Part of me felt disappointed. I had made it seem like I would be fine if he rejected me. And maybe that made him think it was okay to let me go now.

But I was not done fighting yet. As long as he had not rejected me, I still had a chance. I knew other people might think I was crazy if they knew how hard I ran after him and pushed myself on him. But Arel is my moon blessed. And I would not give up on him that easily.

I grabbed a bagel and a small carton of milk before heading out of the house. Ate and drank while I walked. I did not bring any bags today since I had no schedule at the daycare. I could just go home to change after training.

A few minutes before I reached the training quadrangle, Harrold came running up to join me. He was one of the pack warriors who had been nice enough to help me out whenever Zara or Beta Finn were not around.

"Good morning, beautiful! Ready to kick ass today?" He greeted me with a big grin on his face. Nudged my arm as we walked toward the training ground.

"Morning, Harrold! Yup, more than ready! And you? Ready to be the first ass I kick today?" I teased him back.

"Ouch!" He pretended to be hurt, his hand over his heart, then laughed. "We will see about that! You just caught me on a bad day last time. But I will make sure I beat you today." He added. And soon enough, we got to the training area.

"I will see you in a bit, beautiful. You are mine today!" He said it a little too excitedly before running off to the men's locker room.

"I will be waiting for you, warrior! Do not keep the princess waiting!" I waved my hand and bowed to him before turning around and heading to the center of the training ground.

That was when I caught his scent. My mate. He was here. And from how strong the smell was, he had to be up on the balcony.

A smug smile spread across my lips. Game on.



Arel

I crushed the paper cup in my hand. I was annoyed at what I just saw down below from where I stood. I was on the second floor balcony of the training building, and right now I was holding my wolf back from jumping down to where Leona was talking to one of my warriors.

Rogue and I did not like what we saw.

Harrold was obviously flirting with her, and she did nothing to send him away. I did not know if she realized how sexy and attractive she looked. Especially in those tight training pants and that sports bra showing off her stomach.

I had not planned on attending or watching training today. I only came here to pick up some important papers from Ethan. But the scene I just saw changed my whole morning plan. I could not wait to find a reason to rip that warrior's head off. He would not see another day if he tried to hurt her or, worse, touched her the wrong way during training.

I dragged a chair over and put myself in the corner of the balcony where I could see her perfectly.

Three days had passed since I last saw her and talked to her. As annoyed as I was by what I saw, her presence still got me excited.

I had been busy these last few days. Spent every day learning more about what happened to the previous Alphas and their fated Lunas. I wanted to find out if the fate I was trying to run from was real or just some lie my forefathers made up.

Elder Garett, the oldest Elder in my pack, had been nice enough to go through all the journals to find the ones written by those Alphas and their fated mates.

After what happened at the Blood Moon Pack, I finally admitted to myself that there was no way I could reject her. There was no way I could let any other man touch her. She was made for me and she is mine alone.

I will have Leona. Curse or no curse. I just needed more time to get myself and my pack ready for what might happen if the curse turns out to be real.

I knew that by marking her, I would be opening the door to losing her or myself within one or two years. I did not really care anymore. But I needed to come up with a real plan in case it happened.

My Beta had been doing most of my Alpha work right now, including the deal with Cyrus, while I focused on this. I knew that no matter what, I would be claiming Leona by the Blue Moon in two weeks.

I was supposed to meet Elder Garett today around lunchtime. He told me he had already found some of the journals from those Alphas. I just needed to read through them and find at least one Alpha who did not die or go crazy because of the mate bond.

I just needed a little hope. A little guarantee that no matter what, Leona would not get hurt by the mate bond. I could lose myself. But not her.

I shook off my thoughts and focused my eyes on my little mate again.

My pants twitched the moment she bent down to warm up. Her ass pointed right at me. What the fuck was she doing? Did she know I was up here watching her? I hoped she did. And she better be doing it on purpose to show off that ass for me and not for those hungry warriors staring at her.

I let out a low growl, warning those warriors to stop looking at her. And in just a second, no one was paying attention to her anymore. Like she did not even exist.



Leona

I walked to the training grounds and stopped exactly where Arel could see me perfectly. I started my warm up by stretching my arms and neck. When I finished, I spread my legs apart, put my feet shoulder width apart, and slowly bent my body forward to reach the ground. I lifted my ass a little higher than usual and held my breath, hoping he was looking at me right now.

And just like I wanted, a low growl ripped through the air. Then everything went dead silent, like no one around us was allowed to breathe.

A triumphant grin spread across my face. Knowing he was watching, I kept bending over up and down, lifting my ass a little more each time as I warmed up. Well, at least I knew I could still affect him.

After a while, I heard jogging footsteps coming toward me with some quiet laughter. "You better finish that kind of warm up before all the warriors drop dead on the ground," Zara said. She was still trying not to laugh. She just shook her head and nodded toward the training building.

I laughed a little before standing up straight and putting my hands on my hips. A big smile on my face. "Good morning to you too, Zara!" I ignored what she said. I did not want Arel to hear that I had done all this on purpose.

"Good morning, girl. So, are you going to partner with me? The Beta is not here yet." She asked as she poked my shoulder softly.

I shook my head and looked around. "No, not this morning. I promised Harrold I would be kicking his ass today. I am just waiting for him to show up."

"I see. Have fun then! Just let me know if you need help. And try that left swing I taught you the other day. That will put him on his ass before he can even think."

I nodded and saluted her. My eyes followed her as she walked away. "Thanks! I definitely will!"
