Chapter 43: "Mia, Do You Think I'm a Fool?"

Chapter 43: "Mia, Do You Think I'm a Fool?"
Mia's POV
The moment I spotted Gavin, alarm bells went off in my head.
Wasn't he supposed to be in North America? Why would he suddenly come back and show up here?
I instinctively stepped back, creating distance between myself and Jayden.
His black sports car was parked not far away.
The window was half-down, and I could clearly see his grim face and the fury burning in his eyes.
My heart started racing uncontrollably.
I forced myself to calm down and lied to Jayden.
"Jayden, I just remembered I have plans with Fiona today, but I completely forgot about it."
"I'm so sorry. Let's meet another time when I'm free, okay?"
"I'm running late. I need to go now."
Disappointment flashed across Jayden's face, but he said considerately, "It's fine. After all, you made plans with your friend first."
He paused, as if suddenly remembering something. "Mia, are you really just meeting Fiona?"
My heart skipped a beat. What did he mean by that question? Had he seen through my lie?
With Gavin staring from nearby, I had no time to analyze the deeper meaning behind Jayden's words. I could only suppress my doubts.
"Of course, who else would it be?"
Fortunately, Jayden didn't press further.
He handed me the cake. "Alright, don't forget to eat the cake."
I took the cake and forced a stiff smile. "Of course. Thank you for the gift."
After Jayden left, even though I had a thousand reasons not to, I knew I had no choice.
I carried the cake and reluctantly walked toward Gavin's car.
I could feel his gaze on me, filled with scrutiny and barely contained rage.
The moment I reached the car, Gavin pushed open the door and yanked me inside.
The door slammed shut with a bang.
Before I could even begin to explain, I was pressed against the door, and Gavin kissed me forcefully.
His teeth cut my lip, and the taste of blood spread through our mouths.
"No... Gavin..."
I struggled desperately, but he held me firmly in his arms, rendering me immobile.
When the kiss finally ended, Gavin released me.
I gasped for air, my mouth filled with his familiar scent of tobacco and blood.
He gripped my chin, forcing me to look at him, and demanded, "Damn it! What's your relationship with that man?"
I explained, "He's my high school classmate Jayden. Today is my birthday, so he came to celebrate with me."
Gavin's eyebrows furrowed. "And?"
I avoided his gaze. "We're just friends, Gavin. Don't misunderstand."
His voice turned ice cold. "Just friends? Just friends need to kiss you? Mia!"
Fuck! I panicked completely, not expecting Gavin to have actually seen that kiss.
"He was just joking with me! It was just a friendly birthday wish!"
Gavin's grip on my chin tightened suddenly, his face darkening.
"Joking? Mia, do you think I'm a fool?"
"A man specially prepares a cake for your birthday, then conveniently kisses you, and you think I'd buy that?"
Under Gavin's interrogation, I had to come clean.
"Fine, yes, he is pursuing me, but I already rejected him!"
Gavin's expression didn't soften at my confession. "The person you like is him, isn't it?"
My mind went blank. I froze completely.
I hadn't expected him to still remember that lie I'd casually made up to leave him.
How should I answer? Admit it? That would only add fuel to the fire.
But if I denied it, would he believe me?
My silence confirmed it in Gavin's eyes.
His face darkened completely, and the temperature in the car seemed to plummet to freezing.
He released me and slammed his foot on the gas pedal.
The car sped all the way until it finally stopped in front of the villa.
Before I could react, Gavin had already pulled me out of the car.
He practically dragged me through the living room, straight up to the second floor, and threw me onto the bedroom bed.
The cake box fell to the floor, its contents ruined.
"Gavin, let me explain!"
"Explain what?" He loomed over me. "Explain how you got intimate with another man behind my back?"
I felt wronged too, and shouted at him, "I didn't! It was just a courtesy kiss! There's nothing between him and me!"
He leaned down, hands braced on either side of my body, trapping me in his shadow.
"Mia, did you forget that everything about you belongs only to me?"
"What gives you the right to say that?" His dominance infuriated me.
"You get to have your fiancée and pick out rings for her, but I can't even meet my high school classmate?"
Gavin's face suddenly stiffened, a complex expression crossing his features.
"Who told you that ring was for Eva?!"
Gavin pulled a velvet ring box from his pocket and opened it.
Inside lay the very ring I'd seen in the photo earlier.
In the bedroom's dim light, it sparkled even more brilliantly than in the picture.
Gavin grabbed my hand and forcefully slid the ring onto my finger.
"No... what are you doing?!"
I was shocked, finding it unbelievable. Gavin had put it on my ring finger, and it fit perfectly.
My scalp tingled. I tried to remove the ring, but Gavin stopped me.
He held my hand down, looked at me, and made his demand. "From today on, I forbid you from seeing that man named Jayden again."
My first reaction was hesitation, because I still needed Jayden's help.
But I didn't want him to know about this, especially since he'd threatened me with Susan before.
My hesitation looked like protection for another man in Gavin's eyes.
His face turned completely cold.
"What? Can't bear to?" he mocked. "Seems your feelings for each other run quite deep."
"It's not what you think!" I protested.
"Then what is it?"
I was at a loss for words, not knowing how to respond.
Furious, Gavin pressed down on me and kissed me again.
I struggled desperately, but he pinned me down, leaving me unable to move.
After what felt like forever, my body gradually went limp as he stripped off my clothes one by one.
Then he flipped me over and fucked me from behind.
"Ah!"
I couldn't help but moan, my body rocking back and forth with Gavin's thrusts.
After finishing once, I collapsed exhausted on the bed.
But Gavin wasn't satisfied yet. He picked me up from the bed and set me on the bathroom counter.
He grabbed the cake that had fallen on the floor and opened it.
"This cake shouldn't go to waste, Mia. Want to taste it?"
I watched him, panting, as he dipped his finger in some cream and shoved it directly into my pussy.
