Chapter 291: Your Lovemaking Skills Are Too Poor
Chapter 291: Your Lovemaking Skills Are Too Poor
Evelyn tugged at the corner of her mouth dismissively, her eyes full of disdain:
"That's your voice? Well, your bedroom skills must be absolutely terrible. No wonder Michael doesn't enjoy sleeping with you. If you really want to stay with Michael forever, you'd better hurry up and find someone to teach you a thing or two. Otherwise, looking at you like this, Michael will get tired of you after a few times. Even if he doesn't divorce you in the future, he'll cheat on you with other women."
Elysia had wanted to show off in front of Evelyn, but she never expected this reaction.
Not only was Evelyn not jealous, but she was also actually criticizing her technique.
"Anything else?" Evelyn asked, leaning against the doorframe, her voice tinged with impatience. "If you don't have anything else, I'm closing the door."
Elysia ground her teeth in anger. She suddenly shoved Evelyn aside and barged straight into her house.
"Elysia, this is trespassing. If you don't leave right now, I'm calling the police!" Evelyn's face darkened.
Elysia felt a flutter of fear, but when she looked around at the luxurious furnishings and decorative items throughout the house—not only more upscale than her own place, but somehow even better than Michael's—her reason drowned completely in rage.
She kept wandering around Evelyn's house, seeing luxury built on money at every turn, growing angrier with each step.
She desperately wanted to smash all these expensive things, but afraid Evelyn would call the police, she held back.
Finally, she rushed into Evelyn's bedroom.
Evelyn couldn't take it anymore. She grabbed a mop and followed, threatening coldly: "I'm giving you three seconds to get out, or I'll throw you out myself."
Elysia clenched her teeth in hatred, debating whether to keep causing trouble or just leave, when her gaze suddenly swept past Evelyn's pillow. A hint of green caught her eye beside it:
A bracelet?
That must be the bracelet Michael kept wanting to see, right?
She felt a surge of secret delight, though her face showed nothing: "Evelyn, I'm scared with you holding that mop. I don't dare leave. If you really want me out, leave the bedroom right now. Otherwise, I'll tell everyone you trapped me in this room and tried to hit me."
Evelyn was speechless. She glared at Elysia, then turned and walked out of the bedroom.
The instant she turned around, Elysia quickly grabbed the bracelet from under the pillow and stuffed it into her pocket.
Watching Elysia actually leave without further incident, Evelyn found it a bit strange.
But since Elysia regularly caused trouble for no reason, Evelyn didn't think much of it and simply closed the door.
Elysia looked at the bracelet in her hand, her lips curling with satisfaction:
Evelyn, no matter what you do, Michael will end up being mine.
Earlier at Michael's place, Elysia and Michael hadn't done anything. Michael had made up some excuse and gone to take a shower.
Furious, Elysia had wanted to vent, which was why she'd sent that voice message—to get under Evelyn's skin.
Though she hadn't succeeded in upsetting Evelyn, now that she had this bracelet, nothing else mattered.
Michael emerged from the bathroom to see Elysia sitting on the sofa sulking. His face was cold as he said: "From the moment you walked into my house until now, it's been almost an hour. Don't you think you should show me the bracelet?"
Elysia turned to look at him, her eyes full of wounded pain:
"Michael, why did you suddenly become like this? You weren't like this before. Before, no matter what I did, you'd believe me unconditionally and stand by my side. But now..."
Elysia shook her head painfully: "You're even starting to doubt the hardships we went through together. Have you fallen for Evelyn? Do you want to break your promise to me so you can be with her?"
"Michael, just now, I put aside my pride and was so forward with you, and you still... Michael, do you even still care about me? Do you still plan to keep your promise to me?"
Michael didn't want to answer that question. Right now, he only cared about the bracelet:
"Put the other stuff aside. I need to see the bracelet."
Elysia's lips quivered with grievance: "You want to see the bracelet? Fine, I'll show you the bracelet right now."
With that, she pulled the bracelet from her pocket and held it out to Michael.
Michael took the bracelet and examined it carefully.
This bracelet was indeed real—the very one he'd personally placed on Elysia's wrist back then.
Watching Michael's expression, Elysia knew she'd bet correctly.
God had been good to her. Tonight she'd only wanted to take her frustrations out on Evelyn, but by sheer coincidence, she'd gotten her hands on this bracelet.
It seemed even God wanted her and Michael together.
"Michael, from the moment I saw you in those woods, from the moment you made me that promise, I committed myself to you completely. I've never thought about being with anyone else. Because this bracelet is so valuable, I don't carry it with me constantly—I keep it carefully stored. I've been cherishing our past, but I never imagined you'd actually doubt me."
"Michael, why have you become like this? Did Evelyn whisper something bad about me in your ear?"
Elysia laughed coldly: "Let me guess—to win you back, Evelyn probably told you she was the one who saved you back then, right? I really didn't think she'd stoop to something like that."
"That year, after I saved you, I went home and developed a high fever. I was burning up for days, completely delirious. While I was feverish, I told Evelyn about the details of our time together in the woods. I thought she was my sister, so when she asked me questions, I answered everything. I never imagined that now she'd use my trust in her to drive a wedge between us."
"Evelyn is truly awful, but Michael, if you hadn't already stopped believing in me, you wouldn't have been swayed by a few simple words from her. When it comes down to it, you just don't love me anymore."
Seeing guilt surface on Michael's face, Elysia felt a rush of joy—she'd made it through this hurdle.
But she didn't let it show. Instead, she put on an expression of utter heartbreak:
"Michael, since you don't love me anymore, let's just cancel that promise. Let's break up. From now on, you can like whoever you want, be with whoever you want. Even though it'll break my heart, who told me to truly love you? I love you, and I'm willing to respect all your choices. As long as you're happy, I can accept any outcome."
By the end of her speech, Elysia's tears were falling drop by drop.
She seemed unwilling to let Michael see her sadness. She immediately turned her back to him, then raised her hand to secretly wipe away her tears.
