Chapter 290: Michael, You’re Hurting Me

At Elysia's remark, Michael frowned slightly but didn't stop her.

Evelyn's lashes trembled—just barely—before she quickly composed herself.

When Michael looked at her, all he saw was the faint smile at the corners of her mouth and her perfectly calm expression.

She didn't care at all who he was sleeping with tonight.

Watching Elysia and Michael leave together, Landon couldn't help frowning.

"Mr. Johnson's actually a decent guy. Why on earth would he fall for someone like Elysia? What does he even see in her?"

Evelyn smiled but said nothing.

Love had never been about right or wrong—only about willingness and unwillingness.

Michael liked that vicious idiot Elysia, and no one could change that fact.

Thinking back to what Elysia had said earlier, Landon found it almost laughable. "When Elysia finally finds out you're the real owner behind Silvercrest Medical, I wonder if she'll regret everything she said today."

Evelyn's lips curved slightly. "Keep my ownership of Silvercrest Medical under wraps for now. When the time comes, I'll reveal my identity myself."

"Yes, boss."

When Evelyn returned to Haven Sky Residences, Michael and Elysia had just arrived as well.

Seeing Evelyn, Elysia looked extremely smug. "Are you all alone tonight? Your boyfriend's not keeping you company?"

Evelyn ignored her.

Elysia grew even more pleased with herself. "Tonight, I'm sleeping with Michael. I'm sure you'll wish us both sweet dreams, won't you?"

Evelyn smiled. "That's one thing I really can't do. Because last night, I was the one sleeping in Michael's bed. Right now, his sheets probably still smell like my perfume. With that scent lingering, I doubt you'll have any sweet dreams at all."

Elysia's expression changed drastically.

She asked in disbelief, "Last night—you slept at Michael's place?"

"That's right." Evelyn smiled. "Didn't Michael tell you? Oh, right—he's a man. He probably didn't want to hurt your feelings, so of course he wouldn't mention it. If you really can't stand it, why not just throw out that big bed in Michael's room right now? That way you won't have nightmares tonight."

"You!" Elysia gritted her teeth.

"What's wrong? Can't bear to throw it out? Looks like you still enjoy picking up my leftovers. I wonder when you'll ever break that habit."

Unable to win the argument, Elysia turned to Michael for help. "Michael, look at Evelyn! She's deliberately trying to make me angry. She's trying to drive me to death!"

Michael frowned as he looked at Evelyn.

Evelyn showed no fear whatsoever. Instead, she lectured Michael directly.

"Mr. Johnson, for the sake of your health, you should really get regular checkups at the hospital. Otherwise, with your habit of switching women every few days, you might accidentally catch an STD. If you happen to run into someone with HIV or something, you'll be completely screwed."

"Evelyn, how dare you humiliate him like that!"

Furious, Elysia stepped forward, ready to slap Evelyn across the face.

But Michael grabbed her wrist.

Elysia turned to stare at Michael in disbelief. "Michael—that bitch just humiliated you. Aren't you angry?"

Michael glanced at Evelyn with an unreadable expression, then said quietly to Elysia, "Let it go. Your health isn't good. There's no point in getting angry with Evelyn."

Elysia lifted her chin proudly and looked at Evelyn. "See that? The person Michael truly loves is me. He won't let me hit you because he's worried about my health."

"Is that so?" Evelyn's lips curved into a smile. "Seems like Michael really does care about you. But if he cares so much, why aren't you taking better care of him in bed?"

"What do you mean?" Elysia frowned.

"Nothing much. Just thinking—I barely teased Michael a little, and he couldn't hold himself back. His body had a physical reaction right away. How long has it been since he's had sex? Or maybe you haven't let him touch you at all in bed? So the moment I touched him, his body got all excited?"

Watching Elysia's expression change, Evelyn smiled, opened her door, walked into her apartment, and closed the door behind her.

"Michael, you and Evelyn…"

Elysia looked at Michael in anguish. "What exactly happened between you two last night? And besides last night—have you been together other times?"

Michael ignored both questions. He opened his door and gestured for her to come in.

"Didn't you say you'd show me the bracelet once we got to my place? Come in now."

Elysia walked inside. She bit her lip lightly as she looked at Michael. "Michael, don't rush. I'm a little tired, and I feel kind of dirty. Let me take a shower first. After I'm done, I'll show you the bracelet, okay?"

Michael didn't object.

Now that she was already in his home, he was curious to see what tricks Elysia still had up her sleeve.

Shortly after Elysia went into the bathroom, a sharp scream came from inside.

Michael's expression changed. He immediately rushed into the bathroom.

By then, Elysia had stripped off all her clothes except for a pair of underwear, which had slipped down to the backs of her knees.

Michael frowned. "Where's the bracelet?"

Elysia leaned against him. "Michael, who cares about some bracelet? Don't you think I'm a thousand—no, ten thousand times—more beautiful than any bracelet?"

As she spoke, Elysia's hands roamed continuously over Michael's body.

One hand even boldly reached between his legs.

Michael's face darkened as he gripped her wrist tightly.

Elysia cried out, "Michael, you're hurting me."

Her soft whimper reached Michael's ears, and his expression shifted.

He grabbed both of Elysia's arms, lifted her out of the bathroom, and tossed her onto the bed in his bedroom.

Elysia was thrilled.

Michael was about to sleep with her, wasn't he?

So he liked it rough.

Perfect—so did she.

Once she truly became Michael's woman, even if she couldn't produce the bracelet later, surely Michael wouldn't do anything to her.

Inside Evelyn's apartment.

After her shower, she lay in bed, ready to sleep, when a message came in.

It was a voice message from Elysia.

She hadn't planned on listening, but her finger accidentally hit the play button.

Elysia's breathless voice came through the phone.

[Michael, slow down—slow down. Michael, you're hurting me.]

Evelyn's expression didn't change at all. She casually placed her phone on the nightstand and prepared to go back to sleep.

But just then, someone knocked on her door.

Evelyn suppressed her irritation, got up, and opened the door to find the very owner of the voice she'd just heard—Elysia.

Elysia smiled at her. "Did you hear the voice message I just sent you?"
